besides that, i dont remember where my fam got it from or why but we had this massive book of mythology from around the world and it had loads of pictures (this is where i discovered john william waterhouse's work btw) and photographs of artifacts corresponding to each myth it had in there and some context, so it interested me as a little kid learning to read way more than the other books my dad had in his house did

the other books he had in his house was shit like v.c. andrews and piers anthony tho so it's not too wild for someone to prefer picture books over that slop /lh
