i choose to believe that some of the jaeger pilots actually read fan mail they received.

imagine pilots placing stickers on their jaeger, either on the outside or interior or maybe even their drivesuit. and one kid asking for their sticker to be placed on the jaeger’s fist so it can punch a kaiju.

a kid sending their crayon drawing of GD and Striker Eureka fighting a kaiju together or high-fiving, to Chuck. maybe he keeps it because fighting alongside GD was on his to-do list, yeah ik that’s right i don’t know if that’s right

give me a first daughter AU where Chuck is Australian Prime Minister (the movie is called first daughter idk how else to spin this) Herc Hansen’s angry son. and when Chuck starts his first year of college he demands Herc get rid of the security he got for him. that’s when Herc hires Raleigh to pretend to be a student and follow Chuck around

everyone knowsss Raleigh would do more than just bodyguard. Herc is mad at Raleigh when Chuck introduces him as his boyfriend but can’t do anything that would give Raleigh away.

think of the unfortunate “lucky charm secured” scene or Chuck crying about the whole situation later (very sad). or him trying to make Raleigh, who’s still assigned to him but now acting the proper visible bodyguard part, jealous by making bad life choices.

just throw Chaleigh and any plot of early 2000s romcoms into a blender

Stop I’m imagining a post operation pitfall Max chilling for a few days after Chuck’s death because maybe Chuck would leave him with someone to do PPDC stuff every once in a while, but this time he’s not back in just a few days

So Max just goes sniffing around for Chuck, but when he can’t find him he starts barking for reals. I imagine he might not bark indoors often cause, y’know it’s indoors, but then all of a sudden he starts doing it so it’s sad

And maybe Max slips away from Herc and ends up in the cafeteria going through rows of people looking for him. And maybe they all just sadly look at him because how do you break it to a dog that their owner died

Chuck and Mako really were just babies when Scissure and Onibaba came in and said “this is for your character lore.”

Like, for me it’s more of a “damn that’s really fucked up” moment because I have younger siblings and see them go through their little kid, pre-teen, and teen phases all at once and it’s like. damn. I see live time the lives Chuck and Mako were supposed to have at different stages vs what they got.

Like yeah don’t mind me I’ll just stare at my ceiling at night thinking of Chuck and Mako, don’t need to be up in 4 hours at all.

imagine if the jaegers had like. a PA system so the pilots could just make announcements to the public, only meant for serious announcements definitely right right

and some teams decide to fuck around with it so now you have youtube compilations of off-key singing coming from different jaegers or co-pilots arguing over very small things

some (most rlly) Chaleigh fics write Chuck as a general asshole. Everyone will be faced with his attitude and angry face at some point, that’s a fact. If he doesn’t back down even with the Marshall right there what makes you think you are safe?. They also include how a young Charles Hansen crushed on admired Raleigh and his piloting skills and good looks, which is why he was mad when Raleigh left the PPDC cause it kinda ruined this image he had of him + thought it a bad choice when billions of people rely on the jaegers

I, however, like to think that stressful situations aside (because it was nearly the end of the world), he would be a maybe slightly moody but normal guy to everyone. Just a regular dude, not an asshole. J-techs don’t go “here comes Chuck 😒” and medical doesn’t try kicking him out as quickly as possible

because it would then be hilarious TO ME if Raleigh gets annoyed with Chuck because he seems to get along decently with everyone- technicians, engineers, even LOCCENT staff- EXCEPT him. Because despite Chuck acknowledging Raleigh’s skill, competence, and how he saved his ass twice now (Chuck Lives always), Chuck still doesn’t want to talk to him. Maybe he wants to be friends, maybe he just wants to make peace, you decide. Raleigh wants to have a conversation with Chuck and Chuck goes “nah.”

Meanwhile Chuck’s trying to avoid Raleigh cause his crush came back in full force and whatever he does say to him unintentionally gives “get out of my school” energy

Imagine Stacker actually let Mako become a jaeger pilot earlier anddd was assigned to a newly restored GD (it only took a year or two to fix her trust)

Raleigh having to deal with sudden TV broadcasts of any kaiju fights this GD gets into during the years he’s working on the wall, oof

(Mako and her copilot confirming a kill the way Mako and Raleigh did in the movie, and Raleigh just staring vacantly at the TV cause had he and Yancy just checked if Knifehead was actually dead-)

was looking up references of Mako for something I’m drawing and a gif of her and Raleigh smiling at the end came up, and man

mind you it was during a lecture so I walked up to my professor to turn something in, my eyes watering because it’s so easy for me to cry and I am WEAKKKK for cute smile scenes. Raleigh looking at her all soft and Mako smiling wide goodnight I’m sobbing already
