Introduction

We know that the future developments revolving around 5G technology, so many people dreaming or

intending to get a 5G smartphone. As every new technology or invention is worth its weight in gold at its beginning, so is the 5G. There are many people who cannot pay a high price for a 5G phone, are looking for a cheaper 5G smartphone. Therefore, there has started a weird competition among smartphone manufacturer companies to introduce the most affordable 5G smartphones. Considering this fact, Samsung is continuously working on introducing more and more cheap 5G phones to compete with Redmi and Realme 5G phones. In this regard, Samsung introduced Galaxy A32 5G in January 2021, which remained the company's cheapest 5G phone till Samsung Galaxy A22 5G's launch. Samsung Galaxy A22 also has both 4G and 5G variants like A52 and A32.

Unboxing

Samsung Galaxy A22 5G arrives in an average box, with no extra protection. There is no pre-applied screen protector and no case, which we can expect for budget smartphones. Moreover, the box carries a 15W charger (9V@1.67A or 5V@2A) beside a short USB Type-A to Type-C cable, and a wired handsfree has an inline microphone in the buds (might not be available in some regions).

Design and Body

Samsung Galaxy A22 5G has a triple camera setup beside a LED flash at the rear panel, housed in a square island. The dimensions of the A22 5G smartphone are 167.2 x 76.4 x 9 mm, and the camera bump is not much high. The back panel is made up of plastic and has a matte look but a grippy surface. The Galaxy A22 5G has a 6.6-inch TFT display of 90Hz refresh rate surrounded by thick bezels. The 8MP selfie camera has placed inside a teardrop notch, dropping into the display panel even the chin is wide enough to adjust the camera out of the display. However, the display of A22 5G supports FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) resolution, has a 20:9 aspect ratio and ~399 PPI density. Unlike A32 5G, the A22 5G lacks in the protection department as there is no Gorilla Glass while the former has Gorilla Glass 5. This Galaxy 5G smartphone does not have a pre-applied screen protector, ingress protection, and no case in the box.

The middle frame is pretty solid and shiny and has a volume rocker and a power button, which also functions as a fingerprint sensor.

Samsung recently launched Galaxy Wide5 in South Korea for the largest wireless carrier SK Telecom.
