Today I have been re-watching SnK Season 1 for the millionth time, and noticed something interesting…

Pictured above is the last time that we see Marco Bott alive, in Episode 13. For a long time, I assumed he was turning to look at Eren’s Titan form, about to plug up the hole in the wall.

However, what if he was already looking at Eren? What if he was actually turning because something else caught his attention?

After Chapter 77, it’s very interesting returning to old scenes in both the anime and manga.

Was Marco’s last scene alive actually a nod to this flashback in Ch.77? Is it possible we were already getting hints to Marco’s fate as early as Episode 13? Perhaps we will never know…
