MSS Weekly, 12/14/21 Report

Previous Report

Apologies for the late report; unfortunately, personal life refused to cooperate with my schedule. In my absence, much has happened in the MOGAI Star System–Tub-X’s celebration went off without a hitch, though some may have noticed Chief Justice Diinna Labba’s less than stellar performance. Perhaps son was feeling unwell? In any case, sons condition was overshadowed by the conspicuous absence of Dollet Mons and Emissary Lee; further investigation found that they had abandoned their planets!

Without leadership, Kaipole 9 and Manabal Prime fell into anarchy. The latter was quickly snatched up by Chief Justice Diinna Labba, but Kaipole 9 remains unclaimed. Diinna has began reforming Manabal Prime’s legal system; a harsh task for a planet with a budding anarchist rebellion recovering from its previous dictatorship.

With all that excitement, it would be easy to overlook the smaller happenings of the MSS. Gery Jackson, a settler on Tup-X, mapped the constellations of the planet’s night sky. These constellations include Celeste, the torch; Mandrillus, the rearing horse; Vanessa, the feather; Irisa, the bird; Esox, the boar; Caudata, the ant; Hyla, the fox; Strix, the face; Eliana, the eagle; and Perameles, the arrow. It remains to be seen how these constellations will factor into local culture and folklore. Speaking of culture, I’d be remiss not to mention the continued growth of Tup-D’s art boom; in particular Nathy Torray, former mercenary and current poet, has recently gained popularity.

hello, i wanted to touch on what this post means for this blog.

im okay.

hello, its been a while. i wanted to touch base.

i am okay. i am healthy. unlike what somebody wrote on my wiki page, i am not dead. in fact, im feeling better than ever. some time away from the mogai community has opened my eyes a bit - things here arent perfect. in fact, a lot of things here are detrimental. taking some time off has helped me see that.

im engaging with other projects right now. im playing some video games ive been meaning to play. im going to start streaming as a vtuber soon, which long-time followers may know has been a goal of mine for a long time. im doing very well in school. things are good. its made me reflect on the fact that i feel much better not being a mogai blogger than being a mogai blogger. that should tell me something about what ive built for myself here.

i am not quitting the community. i am not walking away. not yet at least. however, i am taking a break to reflect on how i want to change the way i interact in mogai spaces. i likely wont see it until i get back, but feel free to message me or send in asks during this time. i will get to them eventually.

when i come back, i think my content will be better than ever. i also think some things will have to go, things i committed too much of my time to. i want to have the time and space to do other things.

thank you very much for everything youve given me. i look forward to my return.

MSS Weekly, 11/29/21 Report

In the past week, three more planets in the MOGAI Star System have been settled. Of these planets, two have been especially notable: Chief Justice Diinna Labba, leader of Tautvis-5, has been hard at work studying the planet's native flora and fauna; on 11/25/21 son gave away the planet's many surplus fruits to Pentoapia G, which was especially useful as recently a fire had destroyed a large portion of their supplies.

Bina Brighte, a settler of Un-1, has developed a specialized weapon that allows them to hunt the large animals living beneath the planet's ice; Caelum, an engineer, has discovered a steady energy source that allows the planet's greenhouses to flourish. With these new advancements, Un-1's economy--and population--are booming!

Speaking of scientific advancements, Arradary has built the galaxy’s one and only observatory, allowing visitors to get a clear view of the MOGAI Star System. Tup-D experienced a huge art and culture boom, leading to it becoming the second planet in the MSS to have an official flag--it's based off of the colors and themes of a particularly famous painting.

Meanwhile on Tub -X, President Moderator announced a harvest festival would commence on 12/4/21 and inhabitants of other planets are invited; they also announced plans for a museum and research center!

Unfortunately, all is not well in the MSS. On 11/16/21 Glen Monson, a pilot and well-known member of Exsphere's settling party, disappeared without a trace. On 11/21/21 she reappeared with tales of a large creature that kept her trapped in its den for days on end. It remains to be seen what the planet's inhabitants will do about the strange creature.

Planet Introduction: Pentaopia G

Designation: The Lunian Planet

Pentaopia G is exactly 5420km in size with a very cold climate, made up of almost entirely land. The planet has a considerable amount of ocean in its norther hemisphere, but this is the only fluid ocean water on the planet. The rest of the planet's surface is made up of land and ice, with the cold climate encouraging the growth of evergreen forests all over the planet's surface.

MSS Weekly, 11/21/21 Report

Since the end of Expedition 19KR, nineteen planets in the MOGAI Star System have been settled, and the number continues to grow. Most of these planets are barely on their feet, but already alliances, trade routes, and budding power dynamics have been established.

Queen Empress Aries--ruler and head researcher of Kaiour-V--has certainly been busy! On 11/16/21, ae formed an alliance with President Moderator, ruler of Tub-X. It’s yet to be seen just how they’ll utilize it in the future. Ae also discovered a turtle-frog-like species the size of sheep, dubbing them ‘benjongs’, as well as a pink crystal that proved a valuable trading resource with Arradary. On other planets, similar discoveries are made: Puplians, aquatic dog-like mammals, make their home on Autoino G, and Aoxolitans, salamander-like creatures, make their own on Aplan--which has become the first planet in the MSS to have an official flag!

Mysdary, home to a kind of fireproof tree capable of growing directly through ice, traded with Jiocalia for its tropical fruits--more offers have been made for Mysdary’s unique resource. Un-1, an icy planet, built its first farms in an attempt to become less reliant on trade, and to prevent overhunting of the ursas--large, pink, bear-like mammals they rely on for meat, trade, and warmth. They also extended a greeting to the fellow icy planet Kaipole 9, offering them enough resources to get them on their feet.

The people of Tub-X rallied to make tax evasion punishable by exile; unrest festers after President Moderator’s denial of the law. Speaking of political unrest, Kaipole 9 has had its fair share! On 11/19/21, Councilor Janus resigned from scales position as co-leader of the planet. Kaipole 9 is now led by Emissary Lee. The main event of this week, however, was Manabal Prime’s very first executions. On 11/20/21, Dollet Mons ordered the execution of Raige Carter, a paramedic, and Holden-835, after the two had dragged the entire settlement into their conflict. The cause of the conflict is unknown.

That concludes this week's MSS Report, and it barely scratches the surface. Will Kaipole 9 and Un-1 become allies? Will Tub-X's civil unrest grow into a full-blown mutiny? Will Dollet Mons' turn authoritarian dictator?

Designation: The Autigender Planet

Tautvis 5 is exactly 6684km in size with a somewhat cold climate, made up of mostly water with two large land masses - one made up of almost entirely ice in the north pole and one made up of both glaciers and livable land in the south pole. The planet experiences very little rain.

Planet Introduction: Tunsor I

Designation: The Dervampvictic Planet

Tunsor I is exactly 4543km in size with a globally hot climate, made up of almost entirely land. With almost no rain, the planet lacks a comfortable amount of fresh water and is home to a notably smaller number of unique fauna when compared to Earth.

Planet Introduction: Salvaag -VIII

Designation: The Ravinean Planet

Salvaag -VIII is exactly 7464km in size with a globally hot climate, made up of almost entirely ocean. The planet's land is made up of several large, marshy islands. Notably, the sun does not appear to regularly set in the planet's east, with MOGAI Space researchers suspect the daylight cycle may take several centuries to complete. This is equally applicable to the planet's west, which is bathed in permanent night.

If we're a leader, how do we know if there are any non-NPC explorers on our planets? And even if there aren't any, are we suppose to have come alone or with some NPCs? Or are the NPCs the native species' of the planet we landed on? /genq

if youre referring to denizens when you say non-NPC explorers, its up to the denizens to make themselves known. denizens in the server are also marked with a role that signifies their planet loyalty.

you arrive on your planet with a number of NPCs that varies per planet, usually between 2 and 6. feel free to ask a mod about the population of your planet. the NPCs you arrive with are not native to the planet - every planet is uninhabited upon arrival.

Do characters have to be ourselves, or can we submit an OC?

your age must be consistent for safety reasons, and you should be aware that you will likely be referred to in the discord server/on the blog by the name and pronouns you submit, but as long as you keep those facts in mind, you can absolutely submit an oc.

Planet Introduction: Autoino G

Designation: The Pupgender Planet

Autoino G is exactly 5652km in size with a globally hot climate, made up of almost entirely ocean. Along with several smaller islands, the planet holds one major land mass, thriving with tropical life and unique flora. Several marshy areas also exist across the continent, hosting unique fauna. Heavy precipitation falls near the north and south poles, including on the planet's main island.

The ocean appears to be home to an unidentified race of pale orange quadruped marine mammals. They possess fins and appear to be incredibly docile. Their diet, however, has not been documented.
