“I love books that take you other places, but I also love ones that are real you know?” She nodded a little. “And sometimes you just get tired of the extreme situations that you know would never happen” She added as she waved her hand a little. “I just hope that other people like it and that I can actually sell books, I mean of course I’d like it to be a top seller but I’m not expecting it and it it doesn’t make top lists I won’t be crushed but if it does..” She pressed her fingers to her lips. “I’m sorry I’m rambling now”
He smiled as she rambled, “No... no don’t apologize” he laughed “I think its cool, and I think you’re right” he nodded “I tend to uh--- gravitate towards comic books a bit more than regular books but sometimes it’s nice to just have that real element. It feels much more personal and attainable.”

“There we go we’ll do it that way” She laughed before flushing a little and clearing her throat. “Yeah like that.” She ran her fingers through her hair and flushed deeper. “Well it’s like..a woman who recently moved to a new area and keeps running into this one man everywhere like in meet-cute sort of ways” She shrugged. “I’m trying to make it more realistic than most where its under normal and real circumstances..like I want readers to believe it’s something that could happen to them you know?”
He listened to her, nodding a little as she spoke. “That’s smart” he said, resting his arms over the table and leaning over them slightly. “I haven’t read a ton of romance books” he laughed a bit. “But I do think there are certain tropes that people are used to seeing so it might be nice to break away from the typical fantasy”

“No no really it’s me, you’re not the first person who’s had issue understanding me, I need to remember not everyone has had an Irish person in their lives” She laughed softly, shrugging her shoulders. “I also mumble a lot which helps no one.” She tucked her hair behind her ear. “Oh well…romance is my go to for writing but reading I go for everything”
“We can both take the blame then” he suggested playfully, “Oh love stories and stuff?” he nodded, “Can you... tell me a little about the book you’re working on now?” he asked “I mean unless you’re sworn to secrecy or something” he chuckled.

Pierre had just dropped his girls off with their mother in the parking lot of the diner so now he was heading inside to get something to eat. He’d headed to the bathroom before going to find a place to sit. He’d been thinking way too many thoughts and a voice pulled him from his head. He glanced back and smiled, “Oh shit… thanks man.” He smiles and takes the bill before pausing and handing it back. “You keep it. You did a good deed.”
The man was a bit taken back when the money was handed towards him again. “Oh... no no” he shook his head, hands up in protest. “Really.. it’s yours” he said with a soft smile. “Although I do appreciate the offer.”

crikeyitslysander:

While on his lunch break, Lysander always liked to go to underrated places that didn’t see many crowds. At work he was surrounded by people tossing things into enclosures which of course made him mad, and today in particular someone had complained that the roos weren’t coming out and wanted him to force them to, which was always an instant ‘no’. Especially when the sun was as harsh as it was today. So while he was walking into the restaurant and heard a voice calling to him, he turned around and patted his pockets, and the man was absolutely right, he had dropped some cash unwittingly. “Oh, thanks mate,” he said, also looking around to see they were quite busy that particular day. “Hey, do you mind if I sit with you? Looks like everywhere else is full,” he remarked, reaching up to run a hand through his hair. “If not that’s fine, you look rather busy.”
Griffin’s eyes glanced around as he spoke, “oh yeah no... sure I mean” he rambled off, sitting back and shifting his stuff towards one side of the table, freeing the space for the man. “Go ahead” he said with a small smile, “Not that busy- I can’t get it to boot up” he said with a huffed breath. “Some lady... has accumulated a ton of malware on this piece of crap” he closed the laptop, smacking its top. “Plus its like ten years old” he shrugged. “I don’t think there’s saving it honestly.”

“No no…Miss Carlisle I can’t…John Travolta is not available at that time. Ma’am, if there was even a sliver of possibility I’d book him. But I already talked to his agent and he’s going to be out of the country…no he’s not going to be near this country. I…yes Miss I already offered double and it’s not possib—Kayla?” Aurielle pulled the phone away to see if she had lost the call…technically she did when her client decided to hang up on her. “Seriously,” She grumbled before slipping the phone into her purse. “Literally any other singer is probably available right now but they won’t settle for anything less than John Travolta. Why can’t they like Donny Osmond? He’d be easier to book than John would be right now.” The woman grumbled to herself before turning into another person, her iced coffee going all over her own clothes. “Well that’s just…” The raven haired woman shook her head and looked sympathetically at the other person. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t get any on you did I? If I spilled any I’ll pay for the dry cleaning.” She offered, looking around for napkins to wipe up her own mess. “I genuinely hate coffee stains, maybe not as much as soy sauce and ink but coffee’s right up there.” @atlanta-rpgstarters
Griffin was standing next to the woman as she spoke, not trying to eavesdrop but she was speaking fairly loud and he’d heard the name John Travolta said which piqued his interest, still he stared down at his phone- attempting to mind his own business. He looked over just as the girl turned into him and stepped back, coffee soaking his shirt and dripping off of him onto the floor. He looked down at her, arms held out towards his sides as the cold liquid caused his shirt to stick to his body. “It’s okay” he said pulling the shirt away from him, attempting to shake it dry, a futile attempt. “You don’t have to do that” he protested, “It’s fine.. just an old tee.” he gave her a small smile, reaching over and grabbing napkins from a holder nearby, “here” he said handing her a few and keeping some for himself.

There were so many men that filtered in and out of the strip club that Lacey rarely remembered any of them - unless they were big spenders, regulars, or someone that looked so uncomfortable in their own skin she thought she should give them a reason to leave. Griffin fell into that last category, and she nodded, grinning brightly at him. “That’s the one! They put all the good romance up where you’re forced to ask for help, apparently.” The blonde never hid her love of romance novels, figuring life was too short to find shame in something you enjoyed - not to mention romance novels, despite their sometimes clunky language, was something she could actually read fairly well. “Can you read those? The backwards comics you were looking at?”
He smiled a bit then his eyes widened, looking down at the comic in his hand “Oh...” he said glancing back at her then looking back down at her. “these aren’t backwards. They’re the western kind, you’re thinking of the Japanese Manga stuff.” he explained. “these you read normally” he flipped through the pages quickly before shrugging.
