I was always told by people that I was sharp tongued or even cold hearted,

But do they even know why I turned out that way?

Of course they didn’t, and assumed that I was someone who had no emotions or was quite a villain…

All they see is what my current self is, but only,

Only if they knew what caused me to turn out into this monster they would sympathize….

There were nights where I wished I didn’t exist at all just because my mom said so,

Did they see how broken I really was behind that smile that I faked every single day ?

Did they ever care to know why my eyes were puffy in the morning and the reason wasn’t because I didn’t sleep enough?

Ofc they didn’t…Then how can they say that I’m cold or sharp tongued when I had to go through so much at such a young age?

Do they not realize that I’m still young and that whatever I had to go through wasn’t fair!!!???

Funny how they all act like their problems and circumstances are always harder and terrible than mine,

Funny how they expect me to hear them rant about their issues but when I need them, they’re suddenly busy or just not available….

So, who really is the monster? Because I believe only God knows the answer to that…

Why I Was Always Standby Booty & Never Prioritized

I never made it a requirement to prioritize me

I went with the flow and idled for commitment

I didn’t care to set boundaries bc it’ll only chase him away

I didn’t prioritize myself to instead focus on “my man”

I was super eager to be his ride or dye

I had standards but didn’t meet my own expectations

My focus was his satisfaction and approval of me, not my long term goals and relationship takeaways

I wasn’t taught any better. I learned via trial and error, not any guidance from a “village”

They only saw me worthy for their convenience and not a commitment

It became a role I was comfortable with

I subconsciously enjoyed the thrill of twirling for his attention. Getting it was the victory. When it went away I resumed twirling.

My self esteem was rooted in the validation of others, not the confidence of myself

I allowed myself to be his hole which was the main reason he returned…unless he needed a place to stay after his quick nut lol.

I chose to be Standby Booty. I wanted to be On Call Coochie or else he will just go to the next girl. Not on my watch!
