in all seriousness i don't actually think shadowsight was "suicidal" during tbc and in fact it actually kind of bothers me when people suggest he is in earnest wrt him doing things like ingesting deathberries. like even putting aside how choosing to characterize such scenes as "a cry for help" is just objectively not what happened it feels like it's just another way to remove his agency and ignore the proactive role shadowsight played in stopping the imposter for the sake of reducing him entirely to a helpless victim who needs the other more competent protagonists to protect him from everything including himself. him putting himself in precarious situations like that is not him succumbing to an episode of despair it's him knowingly taking a calculated risk to do what is right, and even though his methods are reckless and often misinterpreted as him acting stupidly he ofttimes succeeds at what he means to do! his savant problem-solving logic and unflinching resolve in the face of death are part of what i like about him!

of course we could argue about the semantics of "suicidal" here, if it refers strictly to death-seeking behavior as a result of misery or could also apply to an indifference towards the thought of dying, a reduced sense of survival instinct when faced with danger, a willingness to exchange your life for a greater cause, etc- which of course would not be healthy either! but shadowsight endangering himself like that is not him intentionally trying to die because his life sucks no one care him, it's him thinking about how many lives he can save if he acts quickly enough

I think it COULD'VE been an interesting plot point if Leafpool was sent to the Dark Forest. At the point in time, where Starclan was so obviously flawed enough that Ashfur gained that much power? And that they made a point in showing there are good cats in the Dark Forest. It would've made for a GREAT opportunity to give Leafpool as an ally to Rootspring, Shadowsight, and Bristlefrost. It would've made the point so clear, and they could even hammer it in with Ashfur trying to take Leafpool's soul near the end as a final power play against Squirrelflight, only for that to be his downfall when Bristlefrost sacrifices herself to save Leafpool from never seeing her sister again and the clans from Ashfur's wrath.

It was already a clear message between Ashfur and Snowtuft, but this would've really hammered it in.

In this AU I don’t really have the time to go into depth about jayfeather’s apprenticeship but i always thought brightheart being his mentor would’ve been sweet. Even though she wants to get out of the medicine den as soon as possible she still make sure to train him well and even teach him plenty of battle moves just in case. I think she would give him loads of tips and things that help her with her experience of being half blind and deaf. Jaypaw of course is all sassy and doesn’t want her help but he comes around in the end and is sad to see her leaving the den after he is fully trained.

I like to think brightheart sees Jaypaw as one of her own kits and jokes to cloudtail saying that Jaypaw is their son now much to jay’s annoyance .
