say what you will about dragon age but it does kind of fuck that in their medieval christianity equivalent religion they believe their god to have abandoned them after they corrupted heaven

more banter mods dont even fix dai’s banter problem imo because there’s still no way you’re going to even scrape the surface of what they wrote (so many companions, so much dialogue, zero incentive to switch up your party) and they put, like, i don’t think it would be ridiculous to say they put a solid 50% of the entire characterisation of each companion in those banters. they cram lore and foreshadowing and even character development in there. meanwhile personal quests will be 2 cutscenes and that’s it for the entire game

Still crazy to think that way back in origins they dropped the fact that "yeah all golems were once dwarves and there is a way for them to regain sentience and autonomy" and then never elaborated on that again.

I wish there was a narratively satisfying way to justify picking Sten to fight Loghain over the Warden and Alistair because the way he responds to getting chosen for the duel by actually smiling a little, saying "Finally" like his sole goal in life has been to beat Loghain to death in front of a live studio audience and then heading off for that standoff/quickdraw cutscene is very cool

I've never played a single dragon age game but I really enjoy telling people who have played dragon age games that I think Anders did nothing wrong and then watching the insanity as they all turn on each other like the gods fighting over Eris' golden apple
