Gave it another go for fun. Slightly half-assed (meaning don't look too closely, some things don't connect very well, but I was tempted to actually try half way through this lol). It's mostly for aesthetics.

Based more on the human body. I would also like to try a more nonsensical approach (more on the magic side?) but it's a little harder to come up with stuff for that one.

A couple other notes

Basically, core=brain and heart; essence= blood/fuel and nervous system among others.

Core sends essence/signals to the rest of the body and receives them. Essence serves as both the power for all functions but also neural connections between the brain and rest of the body. Inclined to say that essence isn't just contained in those tubes/wires but it's occupying the whole body same as blood but those tubes serve to send some more "focused" essence that has a specific purpose.

This is the type of stuff that makes you remember the skin is a whole organ lol. Aside of physical sensation it also must have sweat glands and have the ability to heal.

If I forgot a majorly important detail again it's because I'm full of hubris and sleep deprived.

It’s just a reminder of how well written this game is, how they can have literal sucking and fucking scenes and it shows the emotional depth of each character

trying to describe how Nu carni characters develop to non-erogame players/non-perverts is agonizing

like. how am I supposed to say that Eiden riding and bouncing on Dante is a sign of mutual trust?? how am I supposed to explain QuinEi somnophilia is something that shows how comfortable they are with each other?? how do I say that Kuya choking Eiden while pile driving him is a presentation of Kuya's fear and vulnerability??? like what????

You know how canaries were historically brought into coal mines, because if the mine was full of carbon monoxide the canary would die first and the miners would be able to escape before they died too?

I just found the greatest thing.

This is a canary resuscitator.

When the miners notice the canary getting sick with carbon monoxide poisoning, they can close that circular hatch so no more gas gets into the canary cage, and open the valve on that oxygen tank to keep the canary breathing. In other words, they made a spacesuit for birds.

By immediately giving the canary access to clean air, the miners can save it from the poison. The bird lives. To be clear, this is not for economic purposes, this was specifically created because the miners felt bad and wanted to save the bird.

Isn’t that just the perfect demonstration of what humans are like? We started sacrificing small creatures to save ourselves, and then felt bad and spent our valuable resources on saving the critters too. Because yeah the canary was the only way to test for CO, but it’s a living creature too, dammit!
