My little girl, Basma, just wanted to go outside and play...

She thought the world outside would be kinder than the sounds of bombing.

She didn’t know that even the air in Gaza is poisoned with danger.

Minutes later, they brought her back to me, with a piece of shrapnel lodged in her tiny cheek.

I can’t find the words to describe what I felt seeing her blood...

One tear from her was enough to shatter my heart into a thousand pieces.

I only ever wanted to see her laugh.

I only ever wished for her to have a normal childhood, like children everywhere else.

But in Gaza... even laughter costs blood.

Please, help me get Basma the treatment she needs, and protect her precious smile from the horrors around us.

Why does the Israeli occupation allow American aid into Gaza, but block most other forms of humanitarian support?

Because they don’t want us to live — just to survive.

They want us breathing, but broken. Alive, but only enough to suffer. So we can be bombed again. Hunted again. Forced to cling to the very aid that barely keeps our children alive.

Every day, one of us risks everything just to fetch food or clean water. A mother. A father. A brother.

They step outside for a bag of flour or baby milk — not knowing if they’ll return home… or become another name whispered in mourning.

This… is only a glimpse of what we endure in Gaza.

The world sees the headlines. But it doesn’t feel our pain.

And no one seems able — or willing — to stop those who keep killing us
