oh goodness is this ever scary, i leave Chile in three days and arrive home in four. it is so strange to think that all of this is coming to an end, that soon i'll be saying my goodbyes and getting on a plane. That soon i'll be able to hug my mom, and my brothers and my best friends and my dog. Oh my goodness my dog, i get to see my dog! I don't know how to explain this, because it's the strangest thing. I feel happy and sad at the same time. I know i'm going to miss so many things here but i miss so much from home that will be incredible to be able to have again.聽
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
deep breaths. i'll figure it all out

Happy Mother's Day!
I called my mom this morning to say happy mother's day. yes, that's right, a real phone call. i had to figure out how to do it over skype and stuff and it was really complicated but i figured it out. It was really strange talking to her, and i have to admit i started to cry. i'd forgotten the way she answers the phone, which has always seemed really funny and formal to me, and it made me laugh this morning.聽
I miss her a lot, she's always been an amazing mom. But i'll be home soon and get to see her again :)
Today i also celebrated mother's day for my host mom too, i made her a handmade card and brought her her favorite breakfast in bed, which she really liked.

I am a Chilean. but I have been living in the States (currently in Pittsburgh, PA) for pretty much all of my life. and my question is what made you want to go to Chile for an exchange program?
That's a bit of hard question to answer, because there's a lot of things that made me want to come to Chile. Firstly, i wanted to learn Spanish, and go to south america, and then Chile jst seem to draw me. It's so interesting and different, with the mountains, the ocean, the desert, the patagonia. And it's also different from the rest of south america, which interested me too.
And well, it's chile!

My two Canadian friends who came to visit me in february! Marla, from Leamington whom i met at our big conference Grand Rapids, and Chantal, from St. Thomas, who is from my district and so we had three conferences together.聽
Them, as well as another friend from america who i'd met in Chile came down to my town to spend a week with me. it was so cool to have them here, for them to my friends and family and get to see the place i'd told them so much about.
It was also great to be able to talk about all of that "exchange student stuff" that really, no one else ever really understands. It was strange having the two girls who i knew from so long back when, when we were just scared little outbounds, about to go on this adventure all the way across the world.聽
I loved having the girls here and i can't wait to see them again at Grand Rapids when we get home!

my host parents and i. (the first ones) i've been back and forth so much between my two host families lately and soon i'll be moving permanently. It's so strange to think that i won't be living with them anymore. I've learned so much with this family and i know they'll always be a part of my family.聽
They'll always be my first Mama and Papa
