Coming onto this blog for the first time in years to say that Ben Stiller went on stage to present an award at the Oscars and they played the main theme from natm when he went on stage

Watched Night at the museum: secret of the tomb again and made some observations and possible backgrounds and connections concerning Tablet guardians.

I decided to write them down, since I know that otherwise I will forget about it before I can even think of writing fanfiction about them. Plus they might be appreciated here too.

The first one would be in regard to how Larry appears more rational, prudent, mature?, (...) than he does in the other two movies before (which I personally like a lot and makes this version of him my personal favorite). He says throughout the movie and when he has the talk with Laaa, that he doesn't want Nicky to have to go the same difficult way that he did, which of course can be applied to his jobs and career.

However, I also thought about how it could be applied to the topic of relationships, especially when thinking about how he parted from his wife and in every other movie he had a kind of love history with someone that developed pretty easy and quick and didn't last.

Seeing how now he wasn't just sceptical about Nicky's career 'goals', but also the girl that gave him her number implies that he was afraid that his son would rush into a relationship like he always used to, but also that he found out for himself what he wants. Because now he has Ahkmenrah and finally experiences how it is supposed to feel to have that special someone.

Another thought came to me during the scene where Ahkmenrah's father explained the tablet and said that they wanted to make him a present by letting it be created. Beside the 'never having to part'-part, I like to imagine that (maybe after having a feeling that this was the only way), the parents wanted Ahkmenrah to be able to meet the only person their son would feel towards and that would care for him like Larry does. (Naturally that's why they were sceptical at first, focusing on the nightguard and asking him questions while Ahkmenrah tried to make Larry look good in front of them, because he of course already knew that he was the one.)

Speaking of Larry caring about Ahkmenrah: as it is known, in the course of the movies, Larry grows to like the museum and his job as a nightguard more and more, simultaneously starting to care more about the exhibits as the time goes by to the point where it doesn't seem like he wants to leave again. And just like Larry starts caring more, Ahk (even though he might've not known that he needed it before) starts to really develop a feeling of security with the nightguard. Larry manages to make the uncertainty, Ahkmenrah used to automatically (and maybe even unwittingly) veil, disappear. It's something only Ahkmenrah himself feels and along with the fact that the pharaoh generally just really likes Larry's caring personality, it was just a matter of time until Ahkmenrah fell for him.

I honestly don't know what the problem could be, but (if you want to read them) I post my fanfictions to be accessible to read even if you don't log in, so it should work either way. One of the great things about skiju is that Skipper and Julien seem to be so different at first glance, but they actually have a great thing in common.

Skipper is brave and protects others and while he is known for this, Julien is actually capable of doing the same and already did indeed. Difference is that not many know about that or his past.

They can also learn from their differencies. Skipper being overly responsible would bring this side of Julien out more often and Julien knowing how to relax or have fun would help Skipper overcome his delusions and need to always be ready for everything.
