NO PRONOUNS FAQ
How do I even do that?
There are multiple methods for referring to those who use no pronouns, shown below. (Examples here taken from this page, a very good resource.)
Use names or initials instead of pronouns
I talked to him yesterday → I talked to Sky yesterday.
She is really beautiful → Soph is really beautiful.
Her graduation starts soon → J's graduation starts soon.
Passive voice
He answered the phone → The phone was answered.
Wen takes good care of her cat → Wen's cat is well cared for.
Rephrasing the sentence (circumlocution)
Lior did it all by himself → Lior did it all without any help.
Gael talks in his sleep → Gael talks while sleeping.
Replacing a pronoun with a descriptive noun or phrase
She landed the plane safely → The pilot landed the plane safely.
This is Lea, she is into painting → This is Lea. My friend is into painting.
She argues that… → The person who started this discussion argues that…
Dropping pronouns
Did you buy Tex her gift? → Did you buy Tex a gift?
Yes, I bought it for her. I will give it to her tomorrow. → Yes, I bought it. I will give it tomorrow.
Why not just use they/them?
For many people who use no pronouns, the issue with they/them pronouns is the implication of a neutral gender rather than no gender. Nonbinary people have often been lumped into a “third gender” category, and for agender/genderless people, this feels just as restrictive as having to “settle for” a binary gender. They/them pronouns can feel like being forced into another category, especially as the popular perception of people outside the binary has become a monolith, and can be very dysphoria-inducing.
Who can use no pronouns?
Anyone! Most commonly, this specific way of expressing oneself is used by agender/genderless people, but anyone can use no pronouns if that’s what that person wants.
Can I include you in group pronouns? (Example: They all went to the beach.)
It’s up to the person whether or not that’s alright, but I’d wager most of us would say that yes, that’s fine! It can’t hurt to ask.
Are second person pronouns alright to use?
Same as above. Most would find it perfectly fine, but if there’s ever doubt, please ask!
Isn’t that transphobic?
When asked for sincerely, this is not transphobic. Some transphobic people might say they “don’t have pronouns” in order to make fun of trans people. There is a big difference between someone genuinely stating their preferred pronouns (or lack thereof) and being transphobic.
Are you trolling?/Is this satire?
No, this is not a joke or an attempt at making anyone look bad. If you asked if this is satire, I also urge you to take a look at what satire actually is and it’s history as a form of comedy. Trolling and bait are not satire.
Aren’t you harming the community with this?/This will make transphobes think we're stupid!
I am, by definition, a trans person just trying to be comfortable. I am part of the community. While people inside the community can definitely harm it, expressing myself in a way that makes me most comfortable is not harmful towards anyone. If transphobes think I'm stupid, I can't stop them. They'll think I'm stupid no matter what.
How do I try these out for myself? I think this might be for me!
Here's a website that allows the user to input a name and ask for no pronouns in a sample sentence. No matter your conclusion, I wish you the best on your journey of discovery!

going with the other anon(who is not me) conjugation is for verbs. pronouns are not verbs, they are pronouns. declining is not used as a verb like conjugating is, but if I am correct they come from, or at least refer to, the way of separating nouns and verbs in latin: nouns have declensions and verbs have conjugations
anyway, I am not well versed in language, but the other anon got me thinking
I see. Thanks for letting me know.

hey hi! so i'm doing a survey for my gender studies class on the intersection between orientational queerness and genderqueerness/transgenderism. my friends are a very small dataset, and i'd love to get some more responses, so i'm sending it into the wide wide world of tumblr! all questions are optional but appreciated, and i'm trying to get as wide a range of experience as i can, so be detailed if you're able!.
important notes - it's all anonymous, but i can't exclude certain results from the dataset. the f, d, and t slurs are used as identities in a couple places.
PLEASE, please, reblog, ESPECIALLY if you take the survey. the form closes january 5.

1/10. Uncreative but the little heart at the end was funny. You'd have gotten more points if you came off anon but you don't have the balls for that ig.

I was kind of absentmindedly going through youtube because I didn't want to do my homework, and I came across this video! It made me quite happy to see someone who didn't really understand neopronouns but still wanted to be respectful, and it can be used for all your homework-procrastination needs. Or not. Idk I just watched the video and decided the neopronoun users in my phone might like it.

Hello !! I am doing a project for my intro to sociology class about misandry and its place in the queer community.
If you are a person who is not seen by other people as "the right kind of feminine" then I would really appreciate it if you would take this survey.
For the purposes of this project, I am not using the word misandry to mean contempt for men, but rather contempt for masculinity. I promise I'm not intentionally misgendering you. This might trigger dysphoria in you. Please don't take it if you aren't in the right place.
This is a lot shorter than my other survey because I have no time. I'm still working on that I swear. My wording might be off because I'm exhausted and made this in like an hour.
Okay I'm tired and I'm going to take a shower. Please be safe folks <2

hey y'all, i need your help! i'm writing a paper for my sociology class on T4T attraction and relationships, and i'm looking for trans people with experience in T4T relationships/attraction to contribute their experiences.
click here to go to the survey!
this account is one of the biggest platforms i have right now, so i'm posting it here to hopefully get more responses. even if you're not going to take it yourself, please reblog and share! i'm hoping this post will make it beyond just my usual audience and get to as many trans people as possible.
if you have any questions about the survey or the paper it's being used for, feel free to dm me or send an email to the address listed in the description of the survey.
i only have a limited amount of time to collect responses, so anything anyone is willing to contribute is super appreciated!

Do you write fanfiction? Do you write fanfiction with characters on the aromantic and asexual spectrums? Are you 18 or older?
If you said yes to all three questions, please participate in this survey about aromanticism and asexuality in fanfiction writing for a master’s thesis project at the University of Texas at Austin.
The purpose of this survey is to better understand how fanfiction writers of aromantic/asexual fanfiction engage with canon and how their own identities play into the stories they create. Aromantic/asexual fanfiction has a space with fanfiction, and the writers of this fanfiction should have their voices heard and projected to other fans for us all to have a better understand each other.
You DO NOT have to be on the aromantic or asexual spectrums yourself. You just have to have written fanfiction with characters on those spectrums. And your fanfiction does not have to be published or posted anywhere. Even if your fic has never let your notes app or google doc, you are still able to respond to this survey.
This survey will take you around ten minutes. There is also an option to continue your participation with an interview. Responses will be collected until November 20th.
For questions and comments, please email [email protected] with the subject line “Aromanticism & Asexuality in Fanfiction Writing Help”.
Thank you so much for your help!

I started a new remote job last week, and I'm the only genderqueer person at the company (and the first person who uses neo pronouns that anyone on my team has ever met, apparently).
So far:
Manager carefully wrote down spelling and pronunciation of my pronouns and told everyone on the team to respect them.
Coworker apologized privately for misgendering me (I hadn't told her yet) and said she will practice.
Guy on another team valiantly tried to use my pronouns and ended up saying something like zirzs-zhizz (I DM'd him and thanked him for trying and linked him to a practice site).
Teammate told me he has written out my pronouns and how to use them in a sentence and literally taped it to his monitor so he can practice.
Teammate also referred to me as compañere after I linked to a comic about gender-neutral endings in Spanish (whole team except me + 1 other person speaks Spanish as first language and they held all meetings in Spanish before the two of us started).
I am so stoked that people are actually trying. 💜🤍💚

Is it ok to use fae/faer as a non-Celtic and non-pagan? I've seen some people say it's offensive but then I also say a poll someone did where they found that most Celtic and pagan people don't mind if non-Celtics and non-pagans use them so idk
I have a few posts about this on my blog, this one probably provides the most information. If you want to know more, you can look through the notes on the post or go through the “#fae/faer discourse” tag on my blog. If you don’t feel like reading all that, the take away is use fae/faer if you want to, it’s not harmful.
