I think the hardest part about addressing child abuse is getting people to acknowledge, not just intellectually but actually responding accordingly, is that the biggest threat to children, the biggest risk of abuse, is family and parents.
it is of course most often parents who are crowing about needing to protect children (often against far smaller threats than family), and pointing out that they are, statistically, the biggest threat to their kids is not gonna be received well.

Sorry, your game looks cool, but the promotional material used the words "wholesome" and "cozy" so I gotta stick by my principals.

I can't stress how much seeing a random woman in Wellington, dressed in full goth attire (literally imagine the most 90's cartoon goth you can), six inch platforms and all, changed my life.
I genuinely thought no one really dressed and lived like that. No one made a serious fashion choice or invented some kind of persona, we were all just doomed to wear whatever shit our awkward bodies.
I realised it was bullshit then, that you could choose to be someone.
And now I'm a weird trans girl who help write stories about fucking bio-robots!

To the Goth Girl I saw, Age 15
In all my days I had considered you a myth
That each of us was shackled to mundanity
And an eternity of monocolour t-shirts, size large
Your chrome spikes shattered that notion
And in your coiling belts, your straps, your leather
I saw a another path
Striding six inches above the pavement you carved
A wake through crowds
Hushed susurrus the only sign of your passing
In every indignant mother's glare, in every child's gawp
I catch that cocky smirk on your lips
The glint behind your glasses
And I know who I need to become.
good morning. lets go over your assignments for the day:
for all boys/men/mascs: today you're going to draw the first pet you ever had in mspaint (or any other simple art program available.)
for all girls/women/femmes: today you're going to write a poem for a stranger you remember from your real life that stuck in your mind, despite your very brief window of knowing them.
for all nonbinary/androgynous people: break day, so you get silent reading time in the bean bag chairs.

Tumblr should tell you how many times you’ve been blocked but not who’s blocked you. Let me see how many enemies I have made.
