The U.S. will use its veto power against a Palestinian bid to be recognized as a member state of the United Nations during a vote at the Security Council expected to take place Thursday evening. Vedant Patel, principal deputy spokesperson for the State Department, described as premature an effort by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to gain member status at the U.N. He said there was not unanimity among the Security Council’s 15 members that the Palestinian Authority had met the criteria for membership, with unresolved questions over the governance of the Gaza Strip, where Israel is in a war to defeat and eliminate the controlling power, Hamas. “And for that reason, the United States is voting no on this proposed Security Council resolution,” Patel said.

Earlier it was revealed that the United States was secretly pressuring other members of the Security Council to shoot down a Palestinian state membership so the US wouldn't have to use its veto as that would lead to a wave of local and international criticism for Joe Biden.

Hi!! I'm new to your if and am not sure if it has been asked before, but was the Ladder process inspired in any way by the Grass Trials from the Witcher? I'm sorry if you've already answered a question like this but I was really curious as the role of the hunter kind of reminds me of Sapkowski's witchers!

i'm actually not that familiar with the witcher Universe (i didn't know it was called the grass trials) BUT the ladder was inspired partially by that process, as well as the joining from dragon age: origins, the whalers from dishonored (mainly the Outsider's influence and Daud's sharing of knowledge), and the old blood from bloodbourne.

it's the part of the process that connects the hunters to the Vel, which requires lots of dark magic and blood and gross potions to drink.

and itch.io has not addressed any of the previous problems and has now, repeatedly, hindered these fundraisers. we still don't even know if the payout process will be improved this time, meaning the money from this bundle - which has already been delayed for 2 months - may still take another three months to get to the PCRF. just donate directly yourself

Israeli forces have killed more than 400 people, including patients, the displaced, and medical workers during their 13-day siege of Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza's government media office reported on 31 March. The ministry added that during the siege on Gaza's largest medical facility, where thousands of patients and displaced people are sheltering, Israeli troops have detained and tortured hundreds while destroying and or setting fire to 1,050 nearby houses. On 27 March, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor reported that Israeli forces had killed 13 children between the ages of 4 and 16 during operations in and around Al-Shifa in the previous week. "Some of the fatal shootings occurred during an Israeli army siege while the victims' families were inside their homes; others occurred when the victims attempted to escape via routes that the Israeli army had designated as 'safe' after forcibly evacuating them from their homes and places of residence," the report stated.
