The Reddit for the RotE is so bad. It’s crazy bc it’s not bad in a typical Incel Reddit way. It’s very censored over there. You can’t initiate certain elements of the story such as SA or anything pertaining Hobb’s thoughts on sexuality as an OP. I find this very strange considering the fact that SA is so prominent within the story itself and discussing SA is apparently offensive to people who have been SA… even using the NSFW +18 tag and using words like “rape” and “SA” in titles makes you liable even though they serve as trigger warnings. I don’t want to make it seem like I’m being insensitive because I’m not.

This is just weird to me. Like bro there’s like 2 major events in TWO different trilogies that involve SA. And the SA isn’t even limited to these two events, there’s a bunch of examples.

When I first got into this series I didn’t know there was this much SA in it and now I know why I didn’t know. It’s because people don’t mention it.. like ever unless they talk about spoilers which people who want to get into RotE aren’t going to look at. (I remember people saying “Liveships is the best series and has amazing strong female characters!! It’s a must read 🗣️” I definitely agree it has amazing characters but the fact that I read so many comments about Liveships and I don’t remember NOT A ONE mentioning the fact that there’s a lot of SA in the series 😭 I was blindsided asf). I hate that so many people are blindsided to the fact that SA is so prominent in the series for some people reading explicit rape scenes and repeatedly reading SA is emotionally taxing. And not having honest convos about the SA in the series does RotE so much injustice. Some people in this community need to be more open to discussion about what happens in these books and stop glossing over SA. I’m not saying people should be forced to talk about it but others shouldn’t stop first time readers especially from discussing certain elements.

This is different from the content I usually post but I gotta get it out there with this rant. Some of you might not agree but that’s okay.
