Released a new video on Hodr, The Blind God. The video contains the lesser known legend of Hodr from Saxo, in which he is a warrior who even defeats Thor in combat.
There's a lot of misconceptions about Hodr. Snorri's story, which is the one that most people are familiar with, paints him as a deity who is at the whims of the more manipulative Loki. But if this is true, why do so many passages in the Poetic Edda blame Hodr with no mention of Loki? Why do the Gods prefer Hodr's name not be counted among the Aesir? This video was a huge project, and if you're interested in Loki's place in the pantheon, this video will have a lot of interesting information.

Added a new video to the channel a couple days ago. This time diving a concept that has been fairly controversial in the past, which is whether or not one can follow Gods from multiple pantheons. The answer, in my opinion, is yes. But there has been some disagreement on what that approach should look like.

Hold on Gunnar, my fellow Christian monk, I need to finish copying this Saga of a dirty pagan and his illustrious exploits where he slays ghosts, murders a bunch of people, hails the Gods, and is then killed by witchcraft on an island where he's just eating a bunch of sheep

Am I having a Mandela effect moment, or have you made a vid about Skaði? I could have sworn you did but couldn’t find anything
I've mentioned her in a few videos but I have not made a video specifically on her yet. I've started the script a few times. I hope to have one out soon.

Freyr, Peacekeeper, who is associated with the boar, is an important part of the Yule celebration. This comic is good reconstruction and must be adopted into heathen practice immediately

Pseudoscience isn't just "you're doing science wrong" or "you're bad at science" in the real world, pseudoscience is often "I am deliberately misrepresenting science to create my own little regime of signs that gives credence to something that benefits me financially."

Information in Heathenry
When I first started exploring the online world of Heathenry, I noticed a couple of things. Firstly, there seemed to be a massive informational barrier to entry, with few people willing to help point to sources other than to tell you to 'read more' and that this is a 'religion of homework'.
This came with the realization that the barrier to entry was coupled with the fact that legitimate information is not really all that readily available. I saw the dynamic show up in multiple communities were people would utilize the information they had as a way to secure their place in a hierarchy within a group. Simple stuff ranging from archeological / historical information, or records describing temple practices and such. Even stories of the Gods outside of the Eddas would have this frustrating game around it.
Most of what I've tried to do in my content and community has been to fix that problem. Simply knowing information does not mean that you should be in a place of leadership. This is not a tradition of secret knowledge. Each of my vids just gives out the information that I experienced as being so closely guarded, and also gives reading lists where you can follow up on that information yourself if you want.
The 'informational' model of hierarchy in Heathenry is ridiculous. My goal has been to upend it entirely. And I've heard down the line that some are mad at me for making sometimes obscure information readily accessible. And you know what? Good. If you've used the difficulty to find information within this religion as a method of lording authority over others, you're a bad leader.
I'm glad you're mad <3
