It's with a heavy but hopeful heart that I watch Palestinian families fundraiser on here, slowly accumulating the precious little money to go around that they need to survive. However, not everyone is so lucky. A lot of Palestinians that have not had that kind of luck, that did not get early verification, that did not get massive platforms behind them from large bloggers, have approached me in my inbox, asking me kindly to do what I can for them. It kills me that I have so little to give myself, but I've seen this platform collectively raise enough to change someone's life. I've made a list of Palestinian fundraisers that are extremely low on funds, in the hope that drawing attention to people who have not been lucky at all can help turn that luck around. I know most of us can't possibly give enough to get all of these families safe in one go. But please, reblog this list. Pick one or two fundraisers, give what you can, and then keep track of it. Slowly, collectively, we can make a difference in these people's lives. Share and donate as much as you can. https://docs.google.com/document/d/178EGDFKkHlh3y4TMVX82kqgITHsqtoMdNccI2f_94Os/edit?usp=sharing

God loves you so much. He carefully made you. Imagined how you should be, how wonderful your laugh should be and how kind your eyes and what your fingerprint should be. You are loved by Him no matter what. You can't change that.

i think on one of ur tags you mentioned smt about if removing Jesus' hummanity that would be removing his fundamental role as a messiah?? if you dont mind would you like to share w the class on that, i want to hear more
Okay so so a huge part of his story right is his role as "the son of Man". Not just like, having been born from a man and woman but like mankind. He, as god as man as Christ, comes down and becomes human, and he lives as one, breathes as one, eats as one, feels as one. Erasing the human part of him is as detrimental as erasing the divine part of him, because he is both man and god. To become messiah, he's gotta come down, live as a man, die, and then ascend as god. To erase the humanity is to erase the sacrifice. He cannot die if there was no life lived

The Gospel clearly states and bluntly illustrates that in history, God takes sides. God takes sides, not in terms of being against, but in terms of suffering with the poor, the oppressed, those unjustly treated. The suffering of God is a consequence of God's taking sides. This presence with the poor is unconditional.

Love Palestine more than you hate Israel. Love trans people more than you hate transphobia. Love the poor more than you hate the rich.
Always love who you fight for more than you hate those who you fight against. Otherwise when the Uniting Enemy is gone, you might start to hate as well.
Anger is part of revolution, but love is too.

I understand why a lot of fantasy settings with Ambiguously Catholic organised religions go the old "the Church officially forbids magic while practising it in secret in order to monopolise its power" route, but it's almost a shame because the reality of the situation was much funnier.
Like, yes, a lot of Catholic clergy during the Middle Ages did practice magic in secret, but they weren't keeping it secret as some sort of sinister top-down conspiracy to deny magic to the Common People: they were mostly keeping it secret from their own superiors. It wasn't one of those "well, it's okay when we do it" deals: the Church very much did not want its local priests doing wizard shit. We have official records of local priests being disciplined for getting caught doing wizard shit. And the preponderance of evidence is that most of them would take their lumps, promise to stop doing wizard shit, then go right back to doing wizard shit.
It turns out that if you give a bunch of dudes education, literacy, and a lot of time on their hands, some non-zero percentage of them are going to decide to be wizards, no matter how hard you try to stop them from being wizards.

god made me transgender on purpose. it is not my cross to bear. it is not my battle to fight against. it is simply an aspect of who i am, which is made beautifully in his image and reflects the infinite and incredible facets of him.

You know, until I heard Pope Francis describe the gaze of Jesus that makes Peter break down crying in Luke 22:61-62 as one of compassion and understanding, I didn't realize I had been unconsciously assuming that it was one of accusation and "I told you so."

"Growing up in Central America, my family’s altars were not always obvious. The shelf that held sleeping St. Joseph in my grandmother’s living room was an altar, though I didn’t know it then. In my childhood bedroom, I had a corner of religious objects I was not allowed to get rid of—off-brand Precious Moments statues, a children’s Bible falling apart at the seams, and other memories of a hyper-religious childhood—even though I was well into my edgy anti-theist adolescence. Unknowingly, I begrudgingly made a corner for God, the only corner of my room in which God was allowed to reside..." (here's an article i wrote about altars, published by u.s. catholic babyyyyy)

Jesus literally was like eat the rich. He told his followers to sell their earthly possessions and then give the money to the poor. He believed in helping the less fortunate and even told his followers that no rich man could enter the gates of heaven. In todays political climate Jesus would have been a socialist. In this essay I will piss off conservatives

maybe this is the end of everything but also, maybe this is the beginning. maybe in 1000 years people are gonna look back and go 'oh what archaic times. they were so mean to each other.' what if there IS a future without war, without oppression. what if there's a gentler world out there waiting for us to catch up. what if --oh God-- what if the meek DO inherit the earth? what if everything changes? what if we heal?
