He let himself be herded towards the couch, mostly out of a feeling that it would be incredibly rude not to.
"And... how do you know me, exactly?"
{A small cup of a blue fluid had manifested itself on a table nearby, a note folded next to it.. The liquid in the cup sparkled with what seemed to be a golden glitter, twinkling in the light.}
"Hello, Captain!
You seem awful stressed lately, so I whipped up something to help you relax. Don't worry, I wouldn't poison a man who did nothing wrong.
See you on the other side~
- 🌌🐑"
What the...?
He picked up the cup, swirling it around a bit, then sniffed at the liquid. He wasn’t about to drink something that just appeared like that, especially without checking to make sure it was safe.
Dainsleif was certainly interested, observing the books curiously.
"These are them? They'll become our means of communication?"
"Very convincing, Dainsleif." Here he was, flushed like an embarrassed boy. Merlin chuckled softly, laying one hand flat against the grass. He could hear the life, here. It was a comfort after the silence of Teyvat....
Speaking of... hm.
Merlin peacefully closed his eyes, his hand glowing a faint green in a very dendro reminiscent way.
But she remembered the drink, and claimed to have sent it...
"Have I been transported here somehow? Do I know you?"

And he intended to. Most of his dreams weren't nearly this pleasant... he wanted to enjoy this one while it lasted.
He slowly approached the cottage, knocking on the door.

He knew even through the haze that the drink had to have caused this... but was it doing any harm? It just seemed to be making him very... very... sleepy....
He may as well just... take a little nap....
Zzzzzzzzzz.....

Dainsleif was typically a very careful man. Cautious, almost paranoid.
Something about the drink, though... it drew him in. He took a small, experimental sip; if he felt no ill effects, perhaps he would try more.

What's the worst injury you've ever sustained? How do you deal with that?
DAINSLEIF: Being impaled is quite unpleasant. Generally if I receive a life-threatening injury, the curse goes into... damage control mode. It can repair the worst parts quickly enough to keep me alive, though there's still typically quite the long healing process.

"I... I suppose I'm still not used to... well, having friends."

Dainsleif nodded excitedly, quite eager to find out himself if this would work.
"...thank you. For trying to find a way to keep in touch."

Dainsleif didn't seem embarrassed at all, at least. Too comfy.
"Yes, listen to Arthur."

Although... what could ponies possibly have to do with journals? Confusion.
