“Does such a thing as 'the fatal flaw,' that showy dark crack running down the middle of a life, exist outside literature? I used to think it didn't. Now I think it does. And I think that mine is this: a morbid longing for the picturesque at all costs.” - The Secret History The name is Chase. I try to keep my blog as clean as possible but sometimes I'll reblog a thing that's questionable. Proceed with caution.

I hate that I can’t really figure out what someone *actually* means based off their tone. Like if I said “are you having fun?” and you say “yep” in the most monotone voice… are you actually? Am I misreading it? Are you upset with me? I can’t figure it out and fuck it wigs me out.

Man cutting Macbeth down to a cast of 13 is a wild time. I truly forgot how many people are in this play.

It's a wrap on Dorian in Wonderland, or Narcissus Through the Looking Glass. Inspired in equal parts by the works of both Derek Jarman and Roger Corman, our latest film is an experimental adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray that tried to be a bit more faithful to the book than most. It was a crazy shoot on a minimal budget, taking place in only 5 days, almost entirely within the black box of a small theater in downtown São Paulo. There's still a lot of post-production to be done, but fingers crossed we'll get a release 2026!

With Winnie-the-Pooh and The Battle of Hastings sharing an anniversary today, did you know that E. H. Shepard once drew this amazing scene for an exclusive book bag?

Not that anyone cares but I’m super interested in getting back into bullet journaling for 2025. I want to see if I can maintain a year of it without being in an academic setting so like??
I’m gonna buy myself a pretty journal though, since I’ve never splurged for myself for one of the nice ones.

Yes I’m drunk but I need to put into words, for myself, how proud I am of how I’ve grown and accepted the hard parts of being an actor. Like yes, I made posts about a couple of recent auditions that ended in nothing, but I’ve also realized (pretty quickly) how I need to just move on and focus on what’s best for me. I fully accept those things didn’t work out, allowed myself the time to be sad/freak out/mourn the losses, and now I’m down to work a regular job for the spring as I just audition.
I fully recognize that I’m still early in my career and that what I’ve done is actually really, really good. Hopefully I can add more to my resume this year, which would include a good fall job. I am already booked for spring 2026, so…
#chase rambles#chase does theatre#when I say drunk I do mean very drunk#also I can’t wait to share some news ugh

Didn’t get it this year either!!! Fuck me I guess
Man, if I had a nickel for every time I found a really cool contract, showed it to a friend cause I’d love to do the contract with them, they book it and I get ghosted… I’d a have a lot of nickels. Which sucks!! But I’m getting much better about getting over it.
I haven’t been home since April, so getting to be home for a few months might be nice. Maybe I’ll get a good spring tour.
