There was a young woman who had no left shoe
She went out stocking foot she had so much to do
She went all day long stocking foot in her ped
Hoping to go home with a lost shoe on instead

You're getting ready to go out for the night. All dressed up, opaque hose and your favourite dress heel. You only have one. Someone went home with your left shoe on from a reception a little while back, and the only shoe left was too small for you to wear home. But that hasn't stopped you from wearing your single shoe out. Since then, you've worn it quite a few times. Each time out gets more comfortable than the last. You may have lost a shoe, but you gained an opportunity to try on other shoes while you are out. There are plenty of unattended shoes and even the chance of wearing a lost one. You slip your single shoe on and go out to join friends, getting really good at walking in your stocking foot with one heel on. Nobody really notices you only have one shoe on.
Tumblr media
If they did, no one says anything anyway. And you are too busy looking for a shoe to try as you make your way. There are lost shoes everywhere, and you know you'll find one to try, and then another. Someone lost her shoe to wear your shoe, and you lost her shoe for her that didn't fit you. But you would have worn it if it did. A cute strappy sandal with a heel, and went home with someone else's shoe on. They say the best party is when you come home wearing someone else's shoe. The party is just as good when you come home missing a shoe too. And you got to try on and abandon the shoe that didn't fit you. Leaving it behind for someone else to try. You wonder if the workers at those events ever try on the shoes left behind. You'd like to think some young woman working that night is going out like you, with a strappy black sandal on her left foot, without her right shoe, in her stocking foot like you.
And then it finally happens. Sitting on the window sill of a shop on the walkway. A perfect high heel shoe someone has left behind and continued on her way like you missing a shoe. Perhaps it was hurting her foot, and she decided to leave it after standing with it off for a while. Or maybe she was a bit wobbly and took it off to balance easier walking in one shoe. Whatever the case was, it is there for you to try on, in need of someone in tights or stockings and one foot with no shoe.
Tumblr media
And the best part is as you draw closer, it's for your foot with no shoe. A red leather heel with a reptile print that compliments your own shoe. You stop and dust off the bottom of your stocking foot, standing on your single shoe, keeping it up off the walkway so you can try on this shoe. Picking it up and examining the heel, in perfect condition, you place it on the ground next to your foot. You admire it next to your stocking foot for a moment, then slip your toes in and slide them down the sole, slipping the rest of your foot in the shoe on to try it on. It fits perfectly, with a small space at the heel, but shouldn't slip off when you walk. Then you think maybe that is the reason it's here, always falling off her foot, so she abandoned it and continued on with one shoe. Then someone placed it here hoping someone would save this beautiful shoe, like you, one stocking foot missing her shoe.
You take a few steps to try it, and it really is the perfect shoe. Two different shoes, each with a purpose, your right shoe goes with your outfit, and her left shoe goes with your right shoe. Your heel pops out a bit when you walk, giving just the right amount of "I lost my shoe and found this shoe to put on."
You meet up with your girlfriends, who immediately notice your new shoe, complimenting how beautiful it is and how well it fits you and goes with your shoe. Now you have a shoe to walk, dangle, slip off and on, walk away from, and maybe even lose again like your own shoe was taken. But if that happens, you may get to go home in their shoe instead. Remember, the best party.......

I never thought about one of these as my right shoe. I want to slip this shoe on now to be my right shoe.

Slip it on and it just goes with my right trainer without matching my shoe.
I always think I'll be finding someone's sport sandal first to put on as my other shoe. They go well with a trainer.

This is how a one shoe story in the forest begins.
Tumblr media
See how her left foot is popping out of her flat, her shiny tights will help make it slip off very easily. When her shoe comes off a lot of women think it's fun and sexy, and don't put it back on right away. They take a step or two away from it and get curious about what it would feel like had they lost their shoe and how it would feel forced to walk stocking foot without a shoe. So they leave their shoe there and start to walk around.
As they try going missing one shoe, the further away from their shoe they get, the more realistic it feels. The more they like that feeling, the further away from their shoe they go. After a little while of exploring with no shoe on, they can't remember exactly where they left their shoe off and can't find it to put back on. So they actually end up really losing their shoe in the forest and forced to go in one stocking foot. Which the majority of women secretly enjoy (87%). Then someone like me comes along who doesn't have a shoe, finds their shoe, tries it on, and wears it.
Tumblr media
She's been trying out no shoe on as well. Notice the debris on top of her shoe and sole. It looks like she's had her shoe off more than once so far. If you were in this forest or park, there's a very good chance you could be walking around with her right loafer on and wear it home if you went there for no shoe walks missing your right shoe. And have it to go walk the forest again without a left shoe wearing one loafer like she did.
Tumblr media
I would love to have her shoe on out there, walking around in my stocking foot with no left shoe, looking for another lost shoe to put on.
Tumblr media
A perfect shoe for her to find since her right shoe is lost. She could just go out there for a walk and put the loafer on and have a right shoe, and have a wear it alone option with her tights for a different look without a left shoe.

Helen had lost her right loafer and was forced to keep going in her stocking foot. She had been without a shoe for a while now, and when walking by some discarded wood in a vacant lot, she discovered someone's lost shoe sitting in the debris.
Tumblr media
She carefully made her way over to the shoe and noticed it was a men's right loafer, dirty with mud but seemed wearable. Since she had no right shoe, she had nothing to lose and decided to give it a go and slip her stocking foot in it and try it on. The pointed toe and high vamp gave it a somewhat feminine look, save for the mud on and in it. It was a little large on her foot as she slipped it on, but fit well and was not at all uncomfortable as she imagined it might be. She stood there for a few moments with the shoe on, looking at the shoe with her tights and outfit, and thinking about the dapper gent that walked away in his stocking foot without his shoe on, and her finding his shoe in her stocking foot and putting on his shoe. Almost like he had left his shoe for her. Maybe he would find her lost shoe in his stocking foot and try hers on to wear. She needed to see if his would stay on her foot while walking and carefully picked her foot up and stepped out of the nest of boards his shoe was in, and it did not fall off. Taking a few more steps, it was apparent the shoe fit well enough for her to wear. Her heel slipped a little bit like wearing a mule, but the shoe stayed on her foot. Once on the walkway, she tried slipping her heel all the way back in the shoe and took a few more steps like that to see if she could wear it like that. That worked, so she continued on her way with his shoe on. As she walked, her foot slowly slid forward in the shoe, but she was able to slide her heel to the back as she walked. His shoe was very comfortable, and the heel height was identical to her own loafer. Her left shoe was a suede slip-on flat loafer, so his shoe complimented her shoe. If it wasn't coated in mud, she could almost go unnoticed that she was wearing someone else's right shoe with her black tights.
Tumblr media
As she walked, she thought that if she padded the toe, it would keep her foot back against the heel and not slip. She would try it when she arrived home since she had nothing with her to put in the shoe to try it. After a few more minutes of walking, it was like she was wearing her own shoe. Her thoughts turned to needing to stop at the market before she arrived home, and now that she had a shoe on it would be less stressful if people kept staring at her stocking foot or asking what happened to her shoe. She made her way to the market and got a pram to begin her shopping. As she entered the food area, she noticed the restrooms sign and suddenly had a thought of going and cleaning some of the mud off the shoe. She headed to the corridor and parked her pram to the side and went in the ladies loo. There was no one in there, and she first looked for a towel dispenser to use wet towels to brush the mud off the shoe, but there were only air dryers to use. With the option removed, she walked over to the washbasins and took the shoe off, and turned on a very small stream of water. She placed the toe of the shoe under it first and started rubbing the suede carefully to loosen the mud in hopes of rinsing it away. Her plan was to not make the shoe so wet and damp it made her stocking wet. She carefully kept feeling inside the shoe as she made her way up the vamp. The wetness did not go through the leather, and she was able to remove quite a bit of the mud, but the rest would have to be brushed off and the shoe cleaned with suede cleaner. Fortunately, no one came in while she cleaned the shoe, and she dried it quite a bit with the dryer before slipping it back on and going out to retrieve her pram and shop. As she went about the market thinking of what she needed, she didn't even notice she still had someone else's shoe on. And neither did anyone in the market, or at least let on they did if they noticed.
After leaving the market continuing her walk home her thoughts turned to the idea of padding the toe to make the shoe fit perfectly. Because of that, she also began to think that these could still be her everyday shoes like her original loafers were. She loved her shoes, and this shoe she found was so nice and compatible with her own left shoe she could just keep wearing it. Then she remembered a little while back seeing a group of young women walking on the other side of the avenue from her, and one of them had two totally different flats on. She wore a black flat which was obviously her own shoe and her other foot had a very worn, dull looking white flat on with a decoration on top like a buckle or ornament, which looked small on her and the sides of her foot were spreading the shoe out. You could just tell it wasn't her shoe, but she looked content to be wearing it as her shoe, and it was so well worn it looked like it would be comfortable to wear even though it looked a bit small. The way she was dressed indicated that she put this shoe on with her shoe to go out and did not lose her shoe that day and found it to put on. So if that young woman was wearing someone's lost flat every day to go out, so could she.
As she was getting closer to her apartment building on the walkway there was an abandoned child's sock lying there. Probably slipped off by a young one out not wearing shoes while the parent wasn't watching. She walked over to it and picked it up to look at, a girl's sock with a cute pattern on it. It looked like it was abandoned for some time too. Suddenly it entered her head that she could pad the toe of the loafer with this sock. She slipped the shoe off and picked it up and put her shopping bag down on the walkway. She straightened out the sock and folded it up and slid it into the toe, spreading it out so it would shape itself to her toes. She put the shoe down on the walkway and slipped her foot back in, slowly pressing her toes into the sock and slipping her heel back into the shoe. It fit perfectly now with the sock inside. She now had a perfect loafer for her previously shoeless foot, only having to spend a few hours walking around with one shoe on until she found it to have a shoe.
Arriving at home she first put her groceries away and then turned her attention to the shoe. She slipped it off and took the sock out of the toe and placed it on the kitchen sink. Then she went and retrieved a small scrub brush to use to remove the mud from the loafer. She ran some warm water and began to scrub the mud off the top of the shoe under the stream, careful not to get any water in the shoe. The shoe was lined with leather and the water did not seem to penetrate through to the inside of the shoe. Or the previous owner used a waterproofing conditioner on his shoes. She stood there all the while in one stocking foot again, cleaning the entire outside of the shoe. When she was finished, she placed the shoe on the floor and slipped her foot in to see what it looked like clean. The shoe looked good and even more feminine looking clean. There were some spots of mud left inside the shoe that she needed to clean but doing so would mean the inside would be wet and she decided to do that when she wouldn't need the shoe on for the rest of the day. Right now, the bottom of her foot was dirty from walking with no shoe on all that time and from wearing the shoe, so putting it on with the mud spots right now wasn't a concern. She took a small scrub brush and brushed the insole, and was able to get most of the mud splatter off without wetting the inside.
She wiped the bottom of her shoeless foot with a cloth and then put the rolled up sock back in the shoe. She put it on the floor and slipped her foot in, and put it back on. It definitely felt more like her shoe now, even though it was someone else's shoe, and she decided to go out for a walk to wear it some more now that it was clean and matched her shoe better.
Tumblr media
As she walked around with the shoe on, she thought again about the young woman with the worn white flat on and herself finding the lost shoe and putting it on and wearing it. She came to think that if you lost your shoe and found someone's shoe that fit you, you should just put it on and wear the shoe you found.

Another one shoe walk in the forest
Still haven't found a shoe or anything to try on. Either on or off the trail. It's getting cooler here so hopefully someone takes their shoe or boot off and leaves it before the colder weather comes in.

Alison was a slipper girl. She liked being comfortable and loved wearing clog slippers everywhere. Sometimes she wore lounging pants out with her slippers when she was going about and didn't need to dress up. She also had a favourite slipper that she found one day that she loved to wear. One day she was out and while walking on a street full of shops, she happened upon a single slip on style slipper that looked like someone ran out of and lost and never went back to retrieve it. Alison first walked past and looked it over immediately loving it but continued on her way past it but kept thinking about it and wanting to try it on. She went back to it and waited for when no one was nearby and slipped her left shoe off and tried it on. It fit her foot and felt so comfortable. She slipped it off and picked it up and took it with her, and in her excitement almost left forgetting to put her own shoe back on.
Since that day she was a one slipper girl. She wore the slipper all the time. Sometimes she wished she had the other slipper to go with it, but she also kept looking for any other lost slippers she could find. She also wondered if the previous owner still wore her single right slipper. Since finding her first slipper she had found another scuff slipper also for her left foot. She put it on around the house when it was colder as it was very warm and quite fluffy. She was surprised someone wore it out and lost it, as it wasn't an outdoor type shoe. It had a very flexible sole and Alison often liked to fall asleep with no right slipper on chilly nights in bed. Since she had two left slippers she was very used to wearing only one and occasionally wore her clog style one out missing the right one in her stocking foot. And while she went out in her one slipper she always hoped for someone losing their right slipper she could put on and wear with her left ones.
While out riding in a friend's auto, going up the entrance to the Autoway she spotted someone's lost slipper right at the end of the entrance lane that had been lost out of a vehicle. She could see right away it was a right slipper, a tan Ugg clog style slipper that she so loved. She wanted that slipper and thought about it the whole time the two were out. She didn't drive as she had no vehicle of her own so she needed a plan to get to this slipper. She did have a bicycle but taking that up on the Autoway was neither allowed nor safe. But she knew she had to act quickly before the slipper was either cleaned up by the Autoway authority or someone else stopped and it ended up on their right foot instead of her slipper-less right foot.
Back at her apartment she thought about ways to get the slipper. Finally she came up with a way to retrieve the slipper without the assistance of a vehicle. She would have to get it very late in the evening when traffic on the Autoway would be very sparse. She could walk up the side of the entrance to the Autoway on the grass and then hop out onto the side of the entrance lane at the very end of the safety railing and run out to the slipper to get it. She could easily walk from her apartment to the entrance ramp and she decided that it would be faster and more fun to go get the slipper wearing her left one and have no right shoe on so she could just try the lost slipper on and wear it away quickly, without having to stop and take her shoe off to try it on and have to carry her shoe back with her. And if anyone did see her it would look like she was getting her own slipper back on because it looked like it belonged to her because she was missing her right one. Now she had a plan and just had to wait until it was late enough to put it in motion.
She waited until just after midnight to leave to get the slipper. She put her left slipper on and headed out with one shoe on to make her plan happen. There were few vehicles out and she easily got to the entrance to the Autoway. She walked up the inside of the safety railing as far as she could and got ready to climb over it and run quickly to the slipper when traffic wasn't coming. There were no cars coming up the entrance but there was a steady stream of vehicles spaced out on the Autoway so she couldn't run out and get the slipper. It was far enough away that she needed no cars coming for a good minute or more to safely get to and try on the slipper and put it on. She sat there for about ten minutes with no break to get out and get the slipper. Then she realised what was causing the steady traffic. It was the time evening workers were going home. She would have to leave earlier or later to get out to the slipper. With traffic constantly coming she knew she couldn't sit there and wait until the traffic died down who knows when, someone might see her there. She decided to try again the following night to get the slipper.
As she walked back down the side of the entrance ramp, still in one shoe, she kept looking at the side of the road as she went. About halfway down she noticed something sitting against the layby curb. When she reached it she looked over the railing at it and it was another abandoned slipper! It was a slip on full foot type, gray with a blue design on top of the foot. It looked pretty large and she couldn't tell if it was a gents or ladies because it looked somewhat unisex. She also noticed it was a right foot slipper. With no traffic at all on the ramp she sat on the rail and swung over to the roadway and moved the slipper with her stocking foot. She sized it up and it was indeed larger than her foot, but it was clean and looked so inviting she decided she had to try it on. She slipped her foot into it and it was soft and comfortable. She took a few steps down the ramp with it on to try it and it did stay on her foot loosely as she walked. It wasn't the slipper she came for but it was a slipper nonetheless; abandoned, soft, cozy, fit her foot, and a moment ago had no right slipper on her stocking foot and she just had to have it. She climbed back over the railing with it on and looked it over better and very satisfied, continued on her way home wearing her unexpected find. Two people must have each kicked their right slipper off from the same auto, maybe on a dare she thought. Or more likely they pulled each other's slipper off and tossed them out playing around, not to get them back. Whatever caused the loss, it was made of soft fleece and felt cushy like a cloud on her foot. She couldn't imagine someone wanting to kick it off and discard it but she did get the whole lost your shoe and have to go in one thing. She was enjoying it herself up until she tried the slipper on, now wearing two slippers, which now putting on and wearing someone's abandoned shoe was just as fun. And later you get to go missing the other shoe they kept on.
She walked back to her apartment and decided to wait a bit then try her original slipper plan again, giving traffic time to thin out to whatever overnight normally was. She took the right slipper off once home and gave it a better looking over. It was light gray, identical to a pair of leggings she had, with a sort of aqua blue flower-looking design on it. The sole said it was a large, so that usually meant about a size nine in womens, she estimated by how it felt on her size seven foot. The tag inside said it could be laundered and she planned on it, even though it was clean enough to wear, but she wasn't going to crawl into bed with her new single right slipper on until it was properly laundered. She sat around reading wearing her new lost slipper with no left slipper on to pass time until she would try another attempt at getting the clog slipper again. Until then she would enjoy her new reading and eventually sleeping slipper on keeping her foot warm and comfortable.
A little after one a.m. she put her book down. Traffic should be done being busy for night shift people coming home she thought. She slipped off her most recent slipper, that she really loved having on while reading, and walked over to where she took her left slipper off and slipped it back on. Leaving a small light on she left her apartment again and began her second 'no right shoe' walk of the night, which she was really enjoying doing this evening. She arrived at the Autoway entrance and started up the route she traced a little while ago and made it to the top. One vehicle was coming in the distance and she crouched down to let it pass by unseen. After that the road was empty and hers. She hopped over the rail again with her left slipper almost flying off her foot in haste, which wouldn't have been a bad thing. She could have gone without it on and put it back on when she ran back. At that moment, with no cars coming she had that exact thought and let her slipper slide off losing her shoe to run in both stocking feet to the other slipper. It had since been run over and was upside down but intact. She flipped it over with her stocking toes of her right foot and worked her foot into it. It was a bit snug but fit well enough and she turned and walked with the one slipper on back to her own, now being the abandoned slipper on the roadway. For the first time ever she was walking with no left slipper, although only briefly. She slipped hers on and headed back to the safety of the railing to get out of sight and examine her second 'someone else's right shoe on' she had put on this evening. Once safely behind the railing and on her way back down to the street she stopped and took the slipper off to look it over. It was an Ugg style slipper clog with the outdoor sole and very loved. She couldn't see the tag in it but she guessed it was a size six since it was a bit snug on her foot and normally these clogs were generously sized. She put her second new used shoe of the evening down on the ground and worked her foot back inside it to start her walk home with yet a second persons unwanted right shoe on.
Once back on the walkway she stopped under a light post and took the shoe off again to look at it better. It had a few scuffs from wear and tear and had a few scrapes when it got run over but it had a nice well worn look. The size tag was too faded to read and the fur inside was matted down in spots from the previous owners foot. Now it would start to wear in new spots from her foot in it. And it would soften up, not be so snug and before long look like it was always her slipper. She put it down on the walkway and slipped it back on again and continued her second two-shoes-on walk home. It was a very productive night now having had two different peoples right slippers on her foot that she didn't even have a slipper for just two hours ago. And in that same time was forced to be out in one slipper because she had none to wear. Now she had two indoor and two outdoor slippers to wear, with each other or alone with one stocking foot.
Arriving back at home she slipped her left slipper off and kept the right slipper on for a bit as she got ready for bed. She looked at the tag on it when she took it off and it turned out to be a womans size five slipper. It was definitely generous sized to fit her like it did. Wearing a thick sock with it would help stretch it out and before long would fit perfect on her foot. She put the slipper over with her left one, now a mismatched pair, and slipped her fluffy scuff slipper on and crawled into bed. It had been a very good day to be missing a right slipper.

Emma had been wearing her black clog for a few months now. She managed to enjoy going a full week stocking foot to work before wearing it. She loved her shoe and having to wear it to work everyday with her left clog. But now suddenly her own left clog started acting up on her and began to pinch her big toe as well. It felt a bit different this time but the discomfort was the same. She tried wearing a thicker sock on her foot but that didn't seem to help much. After about a week of her shoe giving her trouble Emma found herself back where she was a few months ago with her painful right clog. She found herself slipping her left clog off whenever she could and walking around in one shoe. In the evening walking home she took her shoe off and went missing her shoe all the way home. Upon inspection one evening after getting home she figured out the issue. The position of the vent holes in the toe area were spaced that the one near her big toe was causing part of her toe to push out of the hole and was pinching it. It was just a bad design and Emma decided she needed to keep a lookout for a left shoe like when she found her right clog she now wore as hers. In the meantime she would spend as little time in her left shoe as possible. Back at work her coworkers knew about her situation and she didn't need to worry about taking her shoe off there, or even showing up with one missing now.
The next afternoon Emma walked to the restaurant in one shoe carrying her left clog and put it on when she arrived. Having it on her foot lasted a whole thirty minutes before she began dipping out of it standing and taking orders and slipping it off in back in the kitchen area. Then about halfway through her shift she began abandoning it in the kitchen for long periods of time and going in her stocking foot. About an hour before closing she walked into the kitchen to get an item and noticed her clog was missing and a white one was sitting where she left her shoe. She glanced around the kitchen and noticed the young girl washing dishes had her left clog on. She smiled and ran the item out to the dinning room still in her stocking foot and went back to the kitchen. The dishwasher girl's clog was still there so she slipped her foot in it to try it on and found it a bit small to wear all the time but she could walk in it so she kept it on for her next trip to the dinning room to try it out. It was similar to her right shoe with a rounder toe area and didn't pinch. But her heel was slightly off the back, which actually wasn't uncomfortable. She noticed right away too that the girl's clog didn't pinch her walking which was a plus.
Emma kept the clog on and kept working and after a few more trips in and out finally encountered the dishwasher who asked her if she minded her trying on her shoe and wearing it a bit because she loved the colour of it. Emma told her not at all and that she liked having her different colour clog on as well and she could keep hers as long as she wanted to. The girl thanked her and Emma added to let her know if she wanted her shoe back as well. The two went back to work with each others shoes on for the rest of their shifts. After closing and cleaning up they met up and exchanged clogs and Emma told her she could wear her left clog whenever she wanted. Even though her shoe was smaller Emma could wear it without an issue and it didn't hurt her toe. And her and the girl seemed to work the same shifts so it seemed they could swap clogs all the time which was fine with her. She enjoyed wearing the girl's shoe just as much. If the girl's shoe fit her a little better she thought of suggesting they swap their shoe permanently. Although she definitely could wear the white clog with no problems based on how it felt on her foot tonight, so a permanent swap wasn't even out of the question.
After slipping off the girl's clog and exchanging back, Emma picked hers up for her walk home missing a shoe. On her way she thought about the white clog and how it actually fit her being slightly smaller without any issues or hurting her toe. She was looking forward to wearing it again and seeing how putting it on more would feel and maybe end up going to work with a white clog on her left foot. She was also getting used to not having a shoe on either, walking to and from with no left shoe on. And she rather enjoyed it as well. Then she thought she may as well just leave her left clog at the restaurant in back and kind of wear it there, and now she might just be able to wear the girl's clog when she got there if she put Emma's shoe on right away. She decided right then her left shoe wouldn't be making the trip home tomorrow evening anymore unless it was raining, and even then a wet sock might not be so bad. Also if she encountered any lost left clogs she could slip them right on to try. And if she found a different type shoe she liked she could try it on and wear it since she looked like she lost her left shoe. This would be a win-win situation for her.
The next day Emma left for the restaurant carrying her left clog like she had been, ready to make the return trip without her left shoe. A little more than half-way to work she spotted something on the walkway ahead that looked like the sole of a shoe upright off on the side on the grass. As she got closer it appeared to be someone lost a workbook lying on its side. Emma went up to it to look it over. The lace was about halfway undone and knotted in spots, it was in well worn condition but wearable still and also a left foot boot. Since she didn't have a shoe on she just had to try this abandoned boot on. She tipped it up with her stocking foot and slipped her foot into it. It was large but not too large and the inside was worn very smooth, which she rather liked. She took a few steps in it and it stayed on pretty well. She took a few more and found it very wearable and looked not bad with her leggings she was wearing. And it really looked like she lost her shoe and needed it to wear, even though her clog was in her hand. Continuing on her way she decided to keep the boot on for a bit and then take it off in another spot before she got to the restaurant and leave it, and maybe it would still be there when she went home. She found a safe spot and slipped out of the boot and tipped it on its side to make it less noticeable. She walked the last few metres to work back in her stocking foot and went inside to deposit her clog somewhere and get ready for lunch service.
She looked at the schedule and noticed the dishwasher girl, Amy, was due in as well. She went over to the washing side of the kitchen and put her clog down under one of the sinks so Amy would see it and take her shoe off and put it on, leaving Amy's clog available for her to put on at some point. A few minutes later Amy came in and to Emma's surprise she had a light pink clog on her right foot and her white one on her left. Emma never really paid attention to it before so she didn't know if this was something she did all the time, but she liked that she did. Amy noticed Emma's shoe right away and shook hers off near the kitchen doors and walked over in her stocking foot to put Emma's on. Emma was in the dinning room so she kept setting up still missing a shoe until she could go back to the kitchen. Meanwhile Amy was getting her equipment and sinks ready wearing and admiring her pink clog with Emma's black and white clog on. Amy also had two different socks on as well. Both white but one higher than the other. And like Emma she wasn't afraid to to try on any shoe or walk around with only one shoe on.
Emma was about to discover Amy had a single clog collection as well that she wore to work, some fitting slightly smaller or larger than her foot like Emma's right shoe. Like Emma did, Amy had been trying on lost clogs and wearing them home for a while, even going out in one shoe to get them, and find them. Her pink clog today was one of the shoes she found. It was slightly larger than her foot like Emma's right shoe too, close or exactly the size of Emma's left clog she now wore. And while Emma was looking forward to putting on Amy's clog, Amy was trying to think of a way to swap one of her clogs for Emma's clog that she loved wearing already.
Emma finally came into the kitchen and put on Amy's shoe. It seemed to fit her better than the day before but maybe it was her imagination. What she didn't know was it was a different white clog than she had on her foot yesterday. The clog yesterday was Amy's own, this clog was one she found and wore, often with her pink clog. Emma went over and talked to Amy after putting her shoe on and then went back to the dinning room for a bit getting ready for a full shift of Amy's shoe on. It felt good on her foot and she was starting to enjoy this unexpected friendship and having someone else that had the same footwear tendencies that she did, including socks. Her next trip into the kitchen she noticed Amy's mismatched socks and that she liked to dip in and out of her shoe too. Emma thought, this girl isn't afraid to walk around with one shoe on either.
As their shift went on the two exchanged conversation as Emma brought dishes from the dinning room to the kitchen, occasionally able to spend a few minutes chatting longer and both playing with their shoes while talking. Each of them forgetting they had each other's shoe on after a while. About half-way into their shift Emma came in with a tray of dishes and noticed Amy was missing a sock and the floor was wet all around the station. She brought her tray over and asked what happened. Someone moved a stack of dish racks under the dishwasher machine work counter and blocked the drain grate spraying the drain water out all over the floor and Amy's foot. She took her clog and sock off, dried her clog and foot off and hung her sock up over on the board to dry hopefully before she went home. She didn't think to have extra socks there and neither did Emma, but Amy's sock was soaked and not likely going to dry before the girls left for the night. Then Emma had an idea. She told Amy if she was ok with wearing a random sock that was clean and dry she would run up the street on her meal break coming up to the laundry she went to often and get her a sock to wear from the lost bin. Amy thought that was genius and said absolutely she would wear whatever sock she could get her. Emma told her she got socks to wear there all the time and even left a few of hers there too swapping for one she liked to wear. With Amy over one hundred percent on board, at her break she went up the street to get her a sock to put on and got to wear her clog to go get it.
She left the restaurant Emma checked on the boot she wore to just before she got to work to see if it was still where she left it and it was there. At the laundry Emma went through the lost bin and found a few good socks so she took them all to bring back and maybe wear one herself. On her way back she stopped by the boot again and took Amy's shoe off and put it on for a minute and was looking forward to wearing it home and leaving her left clog at work from now on. She put Amy's clog back on and hurried back to the restaurant so Amy could have a dry sock on again. She went in the kitchen and showed Amy the lost socks she found. Amy had her choice of three no show socks; a white sock with a purple toe and heel, black with a thin tan stripe around the cuff, and a faded pink one. Since she had a pink clog on she decided on the white and purple sock. She took her clog off, put the sock on and slipped her foot back in her clog. Then Emma suggested she try the pink sock on with her clog. Amy thought a moment and then slipped Emma's clog off and took her white sock off and put the pink sock on and slid Emma's clog back on. Looking at her feet she liked the way it looked and had two clean, dry socks on, neither of them were hers either. Then Amy told Emma she should try the black sock on. Emma had on two gray socks and thought about it for a moment too and then slipped out of Amy's left clog and took her sock off, put the black sock on and put Amy's shoe back on. She liked the black sock and white clog on very much. And now she'd be leaving the restaurant in the black sock and then putting the boot on with it for a good part of her way home.
Now the girls had a mismatched pair of one of each of the other socks plus Amy's wet mismatched sock. Amy was thinking she would love to try the pair they created and wear Emma's gray sock with hers. So she took custody of the socks to put them somewhere in back for safe keeping, and to hopefully wear later. Emma was focused on the new single black sock she now had on to wear walking home with no shoe on. She still had to figure out where she was leaving her shoe at work too. They didn't have any sort of locker room where they could leave things there in. She would have to find a spot to kick her clog off in the kitchen or maybe leave it under the counter at the cashier station out front. She did notice Amy had taken their socks though and figured she wanted to put them on as a pair later on and she was fine with that. It only enhanced their blossoming shoe sharing friendship, adding in sock sharing too.
As the night wound down Emma kept an eye on Amy's drying sock hanging up on the message board in back. It was drying but not very fast. Emma stopped and felt it a few times and it was still very damp. She was hoping Amy would forget to take it or that it was still wet and leave it, and she would take it when she left and have one of Amy's socks to wear too. She knew she wasn't getting her gray sock back and she was fine with that. She wanted Amy's white sock to mix in with her collection.
The end of the night finally came and the girls began to clean up and get ready to go home. Amy loaded the last of the dishware into the washer, Emma was cleaning in the dinning room and it was almost time to shut everything off and down for the night. Amy finished her work first and began to get ready to go. She went to the doors and checked to see where Emma was to swap their clogs to leave. Emma was still cleaning and Amy went back to her station and got their socks she was holding and slipped them in her pocket. She went back to the doors and looked for Emma who was still cleaning. She walked out to the dinning room and went over to her and said she was ready to go and slipped her foot out of Emma's clog. Emma had pretty much forgot she even had Amy's shoe on and said oh, I almost forgot I still had your shoe on and slipped Amy's clog off too. They each put their shoe back on, Amy said good night and headed out with the socks to walk home. Emma walked her shoe into the kitchen and slipped it off at Amy's station and slid it under the work counter out of the way for Amy to put on next time. She checked Amy's damp sock was still there and headed back to finish her cleaning in one shoe. A few streets away, Amy had stopped, taken out Emma's gray sock, slipped her clog off and changed the pink sock for Emma's sock, put her shoe back on and continued home trying it out with the white and purple sock she still had on.
When Emma was ready to leave she went over to the board and took Amy's sock down. It wasn't completely dry but was much better than when she wrung it out and hung it up. It was still a little too damp to put in her pocket so she rolled it up and kept it in her hand and left for the night. She headed up the walkway towards home with only one shoe on and then stopped where she left the boot. It was still there but moved from where she last tried it on and tipped it on its side, so someone else had tried it on as well. She slipped her left foot in it and continued her walk home, missing her left clog, with Amy's sock in hand, losing a sock to Amy, wearing someone's lost sock with someone else's lost boot on. And after wearing Amy's left shoe all night. Amy was headed home with three different peoples socks, wearing Emma's sock and another person's lost and found sock, losing her wet sock back to Emma, which she didn't know yet, and had Emma's left shoe on all night with the third sock on for half the time. It was quite a work shift for the two of them.
Emma unrolled Amy's sock to dry better as she walked. When she got up to the cafe where she got her right clog she was wearing she stopped to see how dry Amy's sock was. It was for the most part dry now, so she slipped her foot out of the boot and took off the black sock and put it over the railing. She put Amy's white sock on and then put the black sock in her pocket. She stood for a few moments contemplating what she was going to do, and decided to leave the boot there lost where she found her clog and slid it off the walkway into the spot her clog was lost in, to continue on wearing Amy's sock with no shoe. She had a feeling that this wasn't the first time Amy's sock had been walked in without a shoe on either, and she was right.
Amy arrived home first, getting her restaurant clothes off and showering, then getting ready for bed. She put the pink sock with Emma's gray sock back on to sleep in. Meanwhile Emma arrived at home in her single shoe and did the same, getting ready for bed she put Amy's now dry white sock back on her left foot and crawled into bed with only one sock on. Both girls fell asleep, once again with three socks on, that all belonged to someone else.

Like the girl in the slip on espadrille story I also found an abandoned canvas slip on shoe one afternoon. It was on a walkway at a crosswalk in an area where people frequently walk for exercise where there are only homes and a recreational area and campground. It was a fairly new left foot Toms shoe that are very popular now and it seems some woman decided to slip her shoe off while out walking and go missing her left shoe.
Tumblr media
I think this because months later in the same area I found a second slip on left foot shoe abandoned the same size as the Toms shoe, so I feel it's the same woman who likes to go Cinderella and goes for a walk to lose her left shoe. And the campground was closed and the second shoe was slipped off on one of the entrance roads a few metres from the edge of the roadway. I hope she still wears her single right shoes after losing her left shoe on purpose and then I found and put them on. Then she really couldn't put her shoe back on so she can go walking with only one shoe on.
I saw it at first I couldn't get to it right away so I went back to wear it away as soon as I could. I tried her shoe on right there but couldn't put it all the way on so I wore it home like a mule with the heel back folded down. Once I got it home I tried pulling the back over my heel but it was very tight and I could only get it over a little bit. I was excited to finally find my first lost Toms shoe.
Tumblr media
I walked around with it on for a while like that to try to stretch it out. I did this a few more times then had and idea to help slip it on better. I took a metal serving spoon and placed it behind my heel with her shoe part way on, then put the tip of the spoon in the back of the shoe all the way in like a shoe horn. I worked my foot down into the shoe and got it on all the way. It's two sizes small so it was very tight but it wasn't that uncomfortable to wear and walk in. I was more afraid of tearing the sole away or my toe going through the front. I put it on like that all the time now and it is stretching out bit by bit. I'm hoping someone loses one my size or larger soon so I can have one to just slip on. I've also seen women wear certain colours with socks and I like how it looks with them too, but I need to find a larger shoe to wear like that. I have a loose chambray canvas step-in my size that I can wear a sock with though but is a no name shoe. And I have her grayish Skechers slip on that I can wear a thin sock with too because it stretches out. All three are left shoes as well so I go out missing their right shoes.

Your blue dress flat I found at a bus stop one evening on my way home
Tumblr media
I spotted her shoe lost in the street in the layby earlier and got off at that stop to go see if it would fit me. She had gotten off, took her left shoe off, and walked away missing her shoe. I had no left shoe on already so once the other person that got off walked away and the bus had already left, I went over and slipped my foot in her abandoned shoe and tried it on. It was smaller than my foot was and the back of the heel was crushed down from her wearing it like that, but I managed to put it on most of the way. I tried a few steps in it and it wasn't in great shape but it was wearable. The toe was separating from the sole a bit and the sole of the heel was missing making it obvious why she abandoned it there. It was more a low heel court shoe than a flat but it was a nice looking office shoe. I managed to get the back of the heel unfolded and up high enough to keep it on my foot, and I stood there waiting for the next bus to come by wearing her broken shoe and wore it all the way home successfully without it coming off my foot or falling apart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once I got it home I took it off and looked it over better and straightened out the back of the heel to get it back into shape to wear properly. With it being smaller than my size I couldn't wear it like a mule like she had been doing and it didn't look right on my foot like that. I started wearing it inside the house with a nylon stocking to put it on easier and not stretch it too fast and tear it away from the sole, which I knew would eventually happen from my foot being larger. I wanted to get as much wear from her shoe for as long as possible.
Tumblr media
After a few nights of wearing it at home re-shaping the heel I was able to start wearing her shoe to work. It looked best with a white nylon or thin sock so I always wore one with the shoe and a sock that complemented my outfit on my shoeless foot. Walking around with the heel broken was pretty loud, especially indoors, making it more noticeable that I only had one shoe on. But the heel height was not uncomfortable at all, it was very easy to walk missing her right shoe. The leather was soft and being smaller it didn't really hurt or squeeze my foot wearing it all day. I never wore another shoe with it and I loved that I looked like I lost my right shoe.
Tumblr media
I wore her shoe to work everyday for about eight months. It became my regular office shoe. And I did wear it out occasionally dressed up. Then one day walking to the bus to go home the sole started to separate more at the toe. Sitting there I could see the side of my stocking. When I got off I carefully walked home and made it without the shoe falling apart, but it separated more, so when I got it home the toe area was flapping a bit and I could see the side of my big toe and foot and the shoe had split open. I took it off and put it in front of my closet and it sat for a few days before I looked it over better to see the damage and if I could repair it a bit, but then had to toss it out because it was no longer wearable. I hope someone loses her flat like that again, but she's closer to my size next time. 🥿

You broke your left flip flop sandal and you have been walking for a while now missing a shoe. As you are walking through a car park you notice one of the sign poles is damaged and there is something that looks like a sandal near it. You turn towards it and walk over to investigate and as you come closer you see someone has lost their left flip flop as well near the broken post. It is larger than your sandal and looks intact. The inside sole is clean and looks barely worn inviting you slip your foot in it and try it on. So you step over to it and slip your shoeless foot right in it. The straps are not broken so you wiggle your foot to the front as far as the toe post lets you and put it on.
Tumblr media
It is large but your foot fills the straps with no gaps. You place your foot next to your remaining shoe to see how it looks. It's a slightly different colour than yours and brand but it seems to fit you very well. You take a few steps forwards to see if it might be broken and find that it is perfectly wearable. You've seen other women with mismatched flip flops on before so why not you too. So you continue on and for the first few metres flex your new found shoe a bit and see how it looks on your foot as you walk. After a few minutes of walking you find their shoe is very comfortable and fits you well, not too large to walk in. You now have someone else's shoe on. You wonder why its owner abandoned or lost it where it was. Is it possible they found and wore a better sandal away and left their shoe lost? Or did they have something to do with the broken pole and lost their shoe leaving quickly? Whatever the circumstance was you're happy they did so you can have their shoe on, missing yours for quite a while. As more time passes and you have it on longer you don't even notice the size difference as you walk along and that it has become your flip flop sandal now. Even though it feels a little different than your other shoe you don't take notice and wear it all day long. When you finally arrive at home you kick it off with your other shoe and leave your mismatched pair out to put them on again the next time you go out. You come to love your new left shoe and it officially replaces your lost left one. No one says anything about your different shoe and expects you to have it on when they see you. You wear it all summer and into the fall. You've seen other lost flops and even tried a few on, but none better than yours. The sole has your toe and heel prints, it truly is your left shoe. You put it on with socks for a bit but finally it gets colder and you put the odd pair away to wear next spring now that it's boot weather. ~
Tumblr media
As you can see I found one to wear myself to have a right shoe. Someone lost it right in front of my apartment one night and I went inside and put on my left sandal to go out to try it on and get it. It was much larger than my shoe like the Hurley flip flop photo above but fit my foot well as you can see. It was my shoe for over two years before the toe post hole wore out and I could not repair it anymore. The colour went with everything too, I miss that shoe. You can see how large it was below.
Tumblr media
I also had another single left sandal I wore it with that toe post also broke on. It was two leather strips stitched together that attached inside the sole and they pulled out of the sole. I glued them in twice and got some extra time out of it but eventually I couldn't get it to stay attached. I loved wearing that sandal too.
Tumblr media
I found a smaller white sandal as well one evening at the post office. Someone lost her sandal near the post boxes outside, likely on purpose where it was on the grass. I slipped it on there and wore it briefly and took it with me. The toe post turned out to be very painful wearing it and I re-abandoned it for someone else. It was more cute with my pink leather sandal than it was wearable. I went back to wearing my larger one with my pink shoe. If the shoe doesn't fit, wear it anyway, doesn't work all of the time.

A teen girl finds an abandoned worn out canvas espadrille on the side of the road in the grass. She removes her own similar left shoe and replaces it with the lost shoe. Wearing the comfortable lost shoe she goes and sits down on the grass to watch a stream there for a while enjoying the water and having the shoe on. When she gets up she keeps wearing the lost shoe and abandons her own left shoe there for it, wearing it home instead.
A few days later she walks by the spot where she abandoned her shoe for the one she has on and finds her own shoe is now missing, and one dirty, worn out canvas left sneaker missing its shoelace was now abandoned in its place. She removes the espadrille shoe she found she has on and tries the lost sneaker on. It fits tight on her foot and she understands why there is probably no lace in it anymore. Her own canvas slip on shoe would have been much more comfortable to wear, especially with heavyweight tights in the cooler weather.
She walks around trying the sneaker on for a few moments and removes it in a different spot so its owner would notice it was tried on. She replaces the non matching espadrille shoe back on her left foot, pleased at needing it to be her own shoe now with her other shoe lost and worn by the one sneaker girl. If the sneaker is still there next time by she might put it on again. She has an idea and picks up the shoe and walks down to the stream and puts it in the water to clean it off. She rubs the dirt off it and rinses it out and then leaves it in the grass away from the water to dry.
In a few days she checks on the shoe and finds it dry and much cleaner and moved from where she had left it, now upside down with the tongue pushed inside from someone trying it on like that and kicking it off her foot and leaving it lost. She removes her mismatched espadrille again and slips the sneaker on her foot, fixing the tongue and tucking it in after getting the shoe settled on her foot. She decides to take the sneaker for a walk but doesn't want to lose her espadrille shoe so she hides it in some tall grass and sets off wearing the abandoned left foot sneaker with her own right canvas slip on shoe.
It was a bit snug which would keep it on her foot without a lace but not uncomfortable to wear. Even though it was well worn the washing she gave it made it look much better. It had a worn spot in the big toe and some stitching fraying but was still very much wearable. This made her think the owner abandoned it because of a tight fit and her abandoned left espadrille was both more comfortable and stretched out a bit larger for her.
Even thought the shoe was dissimilar to her mismatched espadrille shoes, the more she looked at it the more similar they looked. Without the lace in it the only major differences was the sneaker came up higher on the top of the foot and the eyelets. The sole of the sneaker was black on the sides and both her shoe and the mismatched shoe was white. She imagined from a distance they looked much the same except the sole of her right shoe.
She walked around for quite a while with the sneaker on and no one she saw seemed to notice or even if they did, didn't stare or ask about it. She started back to the spot by the stream where she left her other shoe hidden to change back to it and put the sneaker somewhere safe to use again hopefully. When she got back there she didn't remember exactly where she left her shoe in the taller grass and started searching for it.
She searched where she remembered leaving it but did not see it so she started looking closer to the road and then closer to the water and still no shoe. She began to get butterflies and worried her shoe was gone and started searching deeper in the grass. She looked from the road to the waters edge and her shoe was nowhere to be found. She even looked in the stream in case someone threw it in the water but could see nothing in it but rocks.
She realised then she would have to wear the lost sneaker home now and explain to her mum why she was going to be wearing two different shoes now. She decided for the sake of making the story short to leave out the three way swap part and call the abandoned espadrille she was wearing her own shoe, since her own espadrille was on someone else's left foot now too. The girl that lost or abandoned the espadrille likely had her shoe on. She hoped that was what happened with it, but she really liked wearing that shoe. She hoped it wasn't in the water either, but didn't think so.
She headed home half hoping that she would find someone wore the shoe down the road to try it and abandoned it again but she didn't find it anywhere. When she got back home and went inside her mum didn't notice the single sneaker she would now be wearing with her one shoe, but that something was bothering her. She looked at her feet and explained what happened curiously trying the sneaker on and then lost her shoe. She thought her mum would be upset with her but she wasn't. After a few questions about trying the sneaker she told her mum she would wear it until she needed shoes and her mum agreed that was fine with her.
It really didn't bother her at all because now she could wear the sneaker all the time and had an excuse to, and wouldn't need new shoes for quite a while. And if she kept finding lost canvas slip ons and sneakers she could keep this going on forever too. She wondered if she would ever see the girl who abandoned her sneaker and put her mismatched shoe on. She wondered what her friends would say when she saw them and explained what happened. Maybe one of them would know whose lost sneaker she was now wearing. If she did find out who had her shoe on she thought about if she really wanted it back, since it was quite fun having to wear their sneaker. Thinking about it she'd let the girl keep wearing her shoe, she didn't need it back.
She thought it would look better when the cooler weather came back in autumn and she could wear dark tights with it. Both shoes would blend in and be less noticeable. And she could probably wear just the lost sneaker without her right shoe on and no one would really notice. Now she couldn't wait to try going out stocking foot like she lost her right shoe. She would even go out in her single right espadrille too since she had lost her left shoe. For now she would just enjoy wearing a shoe every day that belonged to some other girl.

Ladies, you are at a nightclub and you walk into the loo and in the stall you find this pair of abandoned heels. After your business you step over to them and curiously slip your right shoe off and try her shoe on. You stand there for a few moments admiring her shoe on your foot and comparing your heel to hers, each of you now having an abandoned shoe in the corner. You slip your left shoe off and put her other shoe on. Now with the pair on you step around the stall really trying them out. They fit you perfectly, match your outfit and don't pinch your feet or hurt at all. You stand there for a little while longer looking at her heels on your feet and thinking of wearing her abandoned shoes and leaving yours there instead. You could walk around a while with hers on and switch back if your shoes are still there. And if someone took your shoes to wear you would have to keep her shoes on and wear them. Her shoes are so nice you decide to keep them on and you walk out of the loo leaving your heels abandoned in the stall for her to wear if she returns, or someone else to try them on. As you walk around the club you try to figure out which woman in her stocking feet shoes you have on, who might actually go home wearing your heels instead. You also noticed a few women walking around missing only one shoe and think if one broke her shoe she may put yours on and leave her single shoe in its place. If that happens you will definitely go and try her shoe on to see if it fits. You might even take it so you could wear it out, like the women with only one shoe on.
You check on your shoes a few times and they are still in the corner but moved so they were likely tried on. A few of the women missing one shoe have gone in but come out still walking around in their single shoe. Two women are missing a heeled sandal, and one missing her left shoe goes in and you curiously walk in to look a few moments later. She is in the stall your shoes are in and you see she is sitting with your left shoe on trying it on. You stand outside the loo to see her come out and when she does she is still in only one sandal walking tiptoe in her stocking foot. Before you leave you check the loo one more time and your heels are now missing. Now you have to keep the shoes you have on. You love the heels you are wearing and satisfied you leave the club and walk home hoping she has your heels on doing the same.

You are out running errands
You have on your favourite black leather cork wedge sandals with nylon knee high stockings
You find someone unbuckled her patent leather cork wedge sandal, almost like yours, and lost her shoe, most likely on purpose
So you bend down, unbuckle your buckle too, and slip your sandal off and try on her shoe
Hers fits you so well you curiously buckle the ankle strap and put her shoe on
Now that you have her abandoned shoe on, you need to wear her abandoned shoe and try it for a bit
You pick up your sandal and go on your way wearing her unwanted shoe
Maybe it was hurting her foot and felt better with it off so she abandoned it but it feels fine on your foot
You have it on for a while and love how it looks and fits on your stocking foot
So you end up wearing her sandal, because she ended up not wearing her sandal
You get home and toss your sandal in your closet because if her shoe fits wear it
You think you should have left your right sandal there for her if she came back by, to try on and maybe she curiously puts your shoe on and ends up wearing yours
You go out all the time now wearing her lost right sandal with your left one
Your left shoe and her lost shoe are a thing
You haven't worn your right shoe since the day you found and put hers on
She hasn't worn her right shoe since the day you found and put hers on
You wonder if she puts her left shoe on and goes out without her right shoe
You hope she puts her left shoe on and goes out without her right shoe
And think you can put her right shoe on and go out without her left shoe

Emma was walking home after a long twelve hour shift at the restaurant. She was on her feet all day and her newest clogs she bought for work were giving her trouble, really only one of them. She had bought a cute pair of black and white marble swirl plastic clogs, the kind most restaurant workers wear these days to replace her worn out trainers and match her uniform. A few days prior her right clog began pinching her big toe. Only a bit the first day, but gradually became worse and today was almost unbearable after several hours of standing. She put on a good sock to cushion her foot from the pressure of standing all day but today that wasn't helping. She was slipping her shoe off for relief every chance she got. Walking home now she stopped along her way to slip her foot backwards in her shoe to give her toe a break from the pinching. She tried walking with her foot backed out of her clog a bit, but after a few steps her foot ended up sliding all the way into her shoe.
A bit less than halfway home was a cafe where Emma could stop and rest her foot there a bit longer to ease her sore toe a bit. As she approached the building where their walkway converged to the public one she saw something sitting below in the car park against the walkway that looked like someone's shoe. There was a safety railing across the cafe walkway and also the public walkway on the side of the car park, and Emma stopped there to take a look. It was a right foot black clog similar in style as hers but had the back strap and round vent holes. It was a bit more worn and dusty than her newer glossy ones and looked slightly larger than hers as well. She thought someone may have been sitting on the railing with it off and then walked off abandoning it. Or maybe they lost it on the walkway and someone else pushed it off to where it now lie.
Tumblr media
Either case it intrigued Emma who now was standing with her hands on the rail, her own shoe mostly off her foot, looking down at this lost right clog. Pondering for a moment the person who left without it and was now walking around with only her left shoe on, she had slipped off her right clog completely and was now standing there with only her left shoe on. Not liking her right shoe much, she thought she really needed to try this persons clog on. She looked around to see if anyone was watching. Nobody was in the immediate area to see her and it was getting dark as well. She carefully put her foot over the lower rail and put her leg through and slipped her foot slowly into the clog pushing the partially raised back strap down. Once all the way on she carefully pulled her leg back through the railing and put her foot down next to her empty shoe.
For the moment she now had three clogs to wear, and her right clog was now the "someone's abandoned shoe". The first thing she noticed was her toe did not hurt with this clog on, even though it was still sore. She also noticed although it fit well, it was roomy, leading her to believe it was a dual size. Her clog was exact sized, an eight, while this shoe was likely an eight/nine giving her the extra toe room for her sore toe. This clog also had a rounded front to it where hers was more squared. She stood looking down at her foot with the shoe on thinking how wonderful it felt to have found this person's shoe to try on and giving her a break from her problem shoe. She decided to stop there for a longer break to give her toe a rest and admire this clog longer and have it on her foot. Wanting to sit on the railing and make it look like it was her shoe on, she slid her right clog quickly into the dropoff in the car park where the one she had on was originally, making her shoe look like the lost one, and then hopped up to sit. The clog already felt like it was her shoe. It was a bit dusty on the top but nothing a brush and some soap wouldn't fix to make it look almost new. She put her feet together to compare shoes and was falling in love with this person's clog on more and more. Even though they were different they were similar enough and Emma was running over all the thoughts about wearing it in her head. They were two different shaped toes, colours, hers was glossy, the lost clog was matte looking, but it's loose fit was a plus. She really wanted this clog for her own. It felt so natural with it on her foot and not looking at it, it didn't feel at all like she had one shoe on that belonged to someone else.
She sat for almost ten minutes enjoying this break, soothing her toe, wearing a strangers lost shoe, falling in love with it on, her own shoe lost to time somewhere behind her. It was time to head home and she really wished to just hop down and walk away with this clog on. But two thoughts stopped her from doing so. First was what if the clogs owner came back to collect it, not intending to have to go in her stocking foot. She had no idea how long it had been abandoned there and it could belong to a cafe worker. Second was actually showing up for work with someone else's different colour shoe on. The restaurant she worked for was very relaxed and the only requirement for uniforms was black trousers and a white top with no rips or tears. They were even allowed to wear leggings, as long they weren't too tight fitting and revealing. And footwear wasn't really regulated either, and she doubted if it would push the boundary a bit. Most of them there usually had on mismatched socks including her, often two different colours or totally different ones like a solid and a design on one, but mostly two different socks of the same colour. Emma had a large collection herself from her own socks that either lived longer than its mate or she loved to find lost socks at the laundry she took her washing to. She rummaged through the lost bin every time and occasionally even needed a sock to wear home, having gone with only one on. So finding a lost clog to put on did fit her personality and level of daring.
She hopped down off the rail, and like earlier, slid her foot down through the railings and shook the perfectly good clog off her foot and put her toes back in her perfectly painful shoe and retrieved it back up to the walkway. She really didn't want her shoe, it looked better lost, but slipped back into it, seriously bonding with this lost clog, hoping it was still there to try on next time she came past. She began her painful walk home again with the first step in her right clog making it obvious why someone wouldn't want their shoe anymore. About ten steps in, Emma decided to stop and remove her right clog and continue in her stocking foot without a shoe on, just like the more comfortable clogs owner left stocking foot without her shoe on.
As she continued home she kept thinking about and wanting the other clog back to put on. She kept going over how it looked and felt on her foot, how it was slightly larger and would never pinch her big toe and also since it was generously fitting people would notice that it wasn't even her clog she was wearing. Thinking this poor girl lost her right shoe, found this larger lost shoe, tried it on, and wears it with her shoe. She liked that they might even picture her having to go with only her left shoe on for a time, forcing her to work the dinning room in her stocking foot, until trying on the clog she's wearing that obviously wasn't hers. She already wore lost socks to work so why not someone's lost shoe? In fact she had someone's lost sock on now. A black ribbed crew sock that could have been a men's sock but like women wear turned down with their sneaker, she was wearing it with a thicker black crew sock to pad her sore toe on her stocking foot.
Almost home she saw two teen girls walking towards her on the other side of the road in the layby. As they drew closer she noticed they had clogs on like her and one of them was wearing a light pink clog on her left foot and a multi-coloured swirl clog with yellow, pink, and light blue on her right foot. The other girl had one purple clog and one white clog on. The first thing Emma noticed was how cute that looked and then how not out of place it looked either. She pictured wearing the girls swirl clog with her left clog and thought that would be really interesting looking and trendy. As the girls passed by and then behind her it struck her that she really could wear that lost clog purposely everyday to work, just like that girl with one bright multi-coloured clog on. She needed to go back and put that clog on her foot.
She turned around and started back towards the cafe. The two girls were still a bit in front of her and she kept admiring the girls mismatched footwear. She knew she didn't want her right clog but she didn't want it to go to waste if she lost it to wear the other shoe either, someone else could use it. She really thought these other girls should have her shoe to wear with theirs so she decided to follow them as far as she could to try to make that happen. A few minutes later the girls went into a shop, Emma stayed across the road to wait to see which way they would go next to place her unwanted right shoe in the girls path. The girls exited and continued in the same direction. Emma picked up her pace to get slightly ahead of them, and by now it was almost dark making this mission a little easier.
Then the girls stopped into a sweets shop, time for Emma to make her move. She crossed over the street just past the shop and with no one around placed her right clog on the walk, then walked up a way and crossed back over to watch what happens. After several minutes of watching for the girls, having officially now lost her shoe, the girls came back out and turned toward Emma's abandoned clog. The girl in the one swirl clog walked right over to it, looked for a few seconds and immediately slipped out of her brightly coloured clog and tried Emma's shoe on. She stood for a moment then walked in a circle trying it on. What happened next was amazing as well. The girls friend kicked off her white clog while the girl tried Emma's clog on, and put her friend's swirl clog on and walked a few steps ahead trying hers out. Then the two came together and slipped off their right clogs. The purple clog girl put on Emma's shoe and the swirl clog girl put on her friend's white clog. They each tried a few steps in the shoes then picked up the swirl clog and continued on their way each with a different right shoe on. Emma was elated they took her shoe but she also thought she wished the girl who kicked off her white clog had abandoned her shoe there so she could have gone back over and tried on her shoe, as she wouldn't mind having a lost white clog to wear with her single clog either. She could have walked it home if it fit her, and then gone back out stocking foot for the black clog. The two continued on their way each wearing someone else's right clog. Emma was overjoyed her shoe had a new home and she no longer had to endure it pinching her foot. It was her turn now to go back to the cafe so she could be on her way with someone else's right clog on as well, since she really had lost her shoe permanently.
Emma hurried back towards the cafe car park somewhat excited to still be out and about missing a shoe, going from I don't want my shoe - I want your shoe, to I lost my shoe - I need your shoe. The feeling of the walkway under her sock was a little different now that she wasn't carrying a shoe to drop and slip back on, now she really needed that lost shoe or she really had no shoe. As she got near the cafe she slowed her pace to look more like someone who had lost her shoe a while ago, and not someone anticipating finding a lost shoe to put on shortly. Floating around in her mind was what if she got back to the car park and the shoe was gone....she would have no choice but to go to work in her stocking foot for who knew how long until she found another lost right clog that fit her. Fortunately these were frequently lost shoes so she would soon likely find someone's shoe to wear, but she would have the perfect excuse to show up everyday with no shoe on, making at least two of her coworkers envious that were always slipping their shoe off all the time. Then that thought turned into a fun thought of wondering how many other lost shoes were out there she could try on if she walked around with one shoe on looking and get more lost shoes to wear with no other shoe on.
She saw the clog was still there and walked a few steps past it like she was noticing it for the first time. Then she went over to the railing again like she had before and paused to look at the unwanted shoe that would generously fit her size eight foot. That she would happily have to wear to work everyday knowing that it wasn't her shoe. But then she did notice that it wasn't as she had left it earlier. Someone else had tried the shoe on as well but left it there, and she almost did have to go to work in her stocking foot if they had no shoe on and worn it. She looked around as if she was checking for the abandoned shoes' owner, or now for someone else nearby missing their right shoe as well, and lifted her stocking foot up over the lower rail and slipped it down into the clog again. She put her foot into the clog past the back strap and lifted it up and over to the walkway. She stood for a few moments like she was trying it on her foot for the first time and then turned to walk home with a strangers lost shoe on. She was wondering what her coworkers would think about her footwear tomorrow. But then she had an even better idea. Tomorrow she would turn up for work with her right shoe missing and have to work the dinning room in her stocking foot. But she needed to come up with a better explanation about how she had lost her shoe for anyone who asked.
As she walked along thinking about what she would say to people, she decided that she wanted to see how long she could work without a shoe on before she had to put one on. That would also give her toe more time to heal as well and she enjoyed her time tonight first with one shoe off, then lost on purpose permanently. She walked past a steep embankment and thought this was the place she would say she lost her shoe. It slipped off her foot after she stepped on something and it tumbled down out of sight and there was no way to find or recover it. She suspected there were actually shoes down over it too. This story would definitely get her as many days coming to work with her single shoe on as she wished, and then she would show up wearing someone's slightly larger, more comfortable, different style, lost and abandoned clog as her shoe.
