reasons to not quit writing:

your writing is a skill, not an inborn talent (unless, yeah, maybe it is). not everyone can do what you do and love

everyone says they want to write a book. everyone has what it takes to write a book. not everyone does it anyway. you be the small percentage of success you read about

your writing will always seem brickshit horrible because you wrote and read it a million times

you love this writing thingy. quitting it will be like cutting off your fingers one by one.

someone out there will want to read what you wrote.

someone out there wants to know what is on your mind. 

someone out there appreciates your art. they will share it with their friends. they will share it with their loved ones. they will share it with their future self because maybe what you wrote saved them.

if you give up now, you know you will just come back to it again, whether it’s years from now, months, or next week. you love writing, that’s why you planted the seed of thought that you are going to write this book, and whether you come back to it or not, your unwritten stories will come back to you.

It was no secret that you hated Kuroo Tetsurou. You hated him with such intense ferocity and frankly, how could you not? He was smug, arrogant and just an overall pain in the ass.

You’ve been at each other’s throats ever since middle school when you both kept getting the same scores in exams and tests. Now, even after 5 years, you’ve both still been competing with each other, fighting for the position of the top of the class, your rivalry never ceasing even when you were in different classes.

You’d always end up bickering and debating in the middle of lessons, usually ending up getting kicked out of the classroom and into the hallway, everyone —students and teachers alike—was used to your antics at this point.

So it just made no sense why your history teacher decided to pair you up with Kuroo of all people. Out of your 40 or so other classmates, he just had to be your partner. Perfect, just perfect.

You couldn’t help but glare angrily at your notebook in front of you, biting the insides of your cheek in hopes that it would keep you from lashing out at the male beside you.

“If you keep glaring at your papers like that it might catch into flames,” Kuroo commented nonchalantly as he flipped through his textbook. “We wouldn’t want that now do we, (Y/N)~”

You turned your icy stare towards him instead, who was only grinning lazily at you, his cheek resting on his palm. Oh, how he infuriated you.

“Can you just focus on your work, please, Bedhead? I want to get this over as soon as possible.”

“Do you hate spending time with me that much?” He cooed, closing his textbook and turning his chair so that he was facing you. You two were in a secluded part of the library, far from prying eyes. Your breath hitched when you realized you were practically alone.

“Is it not obvious?” You asked, tearing your eyes away from his hazel ones and back to your notes, cursing silently to yourself at the way he always managed to make your heart quicken in pace when he was near.

“Come on, why don’t you just admit that you don’t hate me as much as you say you do.” He starts, suddenly right next to you. “Actually, I’m starting to think that you might like me or something.”

“Why don’t you shut up?” You hissed, your head whipping towards him. You froze realizing your close proximity, eyes widening when you saw he was only mere inches away from you. Kuroo’s grin only grew wider as he leaned even closer.

“Why don’t you make me?” He practically whispers, his eyes trained downwards towards your parted lips.

You two stay like that for what seemed like an eternity, noses practically touching, cheeks red, and hearts beating erratically.

You cracked first.

“Just kiss me already, you idiot.”

And so he did, closing the gap the minute you spoke up and crashing his surprisingly soft and supple lips onto your own, finally getting to do what he’s been dreaming of since middle school.

He’d waited way too long to do this.

Your arms made their way around his shoulder, his hands inched their way onto your waist, the both of you ensuring that there wasn’t a sliver of space between you two as you both tried to express years of pent of frustration and pining into one single kiss.

He was the first to pull away, gasping for air. The same lazy grin from before on his swollen lips. “I knew you liked me back.”

“Oh shut it.” You quipped halfheartedly, though there was a small smile on your face. You were breathless and bright red, Kuroo thought that you were the prettiest sight he’s ever seen before.

He chuckles and presses his forehead against yours, his eyes fluttering close as he relished in the feeling of you in his arms. “I never want this to end.”
