@ordinaryseven    LIKED .

                               certain   types   of   silences   get     more   on   his   nerves   than   others.     right   now,   he   hates   how   his   occasional   sigh   is   the   only   sound   piercing   through   the   nothingness.     he   looks   at   his   sister,   producing   yet   another   sigh,   before   looking   away   and   giving   in.     

                              ❛   i   read   the   book   –   found   the   album   too.   ❜     an   absent-minded   scratch   behind   his   ear   brings   him   to   look   at   vanya   again.     ❛   i   liked   the   songs.   ❜

    as soon as diego comes up to her, she tenses. her hands ball up into small fists. she swallows down a lump forming in the back of her throat and she averts her gaze. it doesn’t help that his sigh is the only sound amongst their silence. she knows luther is probably just thinking of what to say, but this much space between words rarely means a good thing.

    then he speaks and even though the words are somewhat expected, she feels like she’s sinking even more into herself. her gaze is so averted she almost can’t see. she knew diego would be mad. he was always mad. and she knew allison would have her issues with it, too. everyone would, but there was something about being before luther that made her more nervous. he was the only one who ever truly believed in dad and now, with him gone, she can’t imagine what luther is thinking, but then he speaks again and it stops her in her tracks. she peers up at him just to be certain.   ❛❛  REALLY?  ❜❜  is all she manages before swallowing down the lump in her throat.  ❛❛  i picked ones i thought you would all like.  ❜❜  she smiles, but it quickly fades as she blurts out,  ❛❛  i didn’t mean to hurt anyone. ❜❜

           ❛     well   .   .   .   i   appreciate   the   sentiment   .   and   as   you   know   ,   i   found   my   way   back   .     ❜  he   says   ,   meeting   her   eyes   .   ❛     it’s   not   really   stupid   ,   it’s   more   .   .   .   hopeful   .     ❜   five   points   out   ,   thinking   of   all   the   sandwiches   that   he   could’ve   eaten   .

   ❛❛ I’M JUST GLAD YOU’RE BACK.  ❜❜  her smile grows as she locks eyes with him. there’s still something so surreal about having five back. maybe it’s because of how much time has passed. maybe it’s seeing him as his thirteen-year-old-self again. maybe it’s because now that she is really getting a good look in his eyes, she can see he has been through so much. he really is carrying the weight of the world on him.  ❛❛  you’re hopeful, too — that you can stop whatever’s going to happen. is that why you're thinking about all of this?  ❜❜

        she  crosses  the  threshold  without  another  word,  moving  further  into  the  room  to  sit  on  the  edge  of  the  bed.   with  all  the  other  children  off  on  a  mission  and  reginald  holed  up  in  his  office  again,  she  was  free  to  let  herself  indulge  in  vanya’s  music.   it  was  the  least,  and  perhaps  in  a  way  the  most  she  could  do,  considering.   ❛    you  know  i  like  everything  you  play,  darling.   you  can  choose  whatever  piece  you  want.    ❜

    as soon as mom enters her room, vanya’s smile grows. it feels rare that anyone has any time for her in this house. luther and allison are often off whispering in hushed tones. klaus lights things on fire. dad sits in his office surveilling everyone. and that’s on a good day. however, today is an even better day with the house quiet as she readies her violin under her chin and focuses on a piece of vivaldi in front her. it’s perhaps a bit classic and overdone, but she’s proud of it. it’s the one thing in the house that feels like it is truly hers. she plays with fervor, her eyes closed as she focuses on the vibrato of a high note before finishing a phrase. she almost wants to open her eyes to see mom’s face, but she powers on knowing that the ending really is the best part.

    as she finishes, she opens her eyes slowly. for a moment, she had forgotten where she was and it was almost nice, but as she comes to, she looks over at grace with wide eyes.  ❛❛ WHAT DO YOU THINK?  ❜❜

    she watches him as he waltzes around the place. in some ways, it’s like nothing changed. the uniform. the devilish grin. the superior attitude that for some odd reason on five doesn’t bother her. it’s almost comforting, except she knows things have changed. the way he moves now is with so much more urgency. she’s not sure she believes everything he has to say about the future and impending apocalypse, but she can tell that it is his truth, so she decides to push it, ask a few questions to really see what’s going on with him.  ❛❛ YOU REALLY READ MY BOOK?   ❜❜

fourseances‌: KLAUS.

The mansion is the same as it’s always been: big & boring & full of bad memories. Klaus doesn’t have the headspace to waste of feeling nostalgic or sentimental, and he’s been quick to get down to thieving. His quest for valuables has led him to Allison’s room, which led to him trying on one of her dresses, which led to him twirling around the mansion’s many rooms in it. He stops when he hears Vanya, and rather than feel embarrassed, she’s met with a bright smile. “Yes ! It suits me, doesn’t it ? I was going to steal some of her makeup, too, but I think she tried to kill me over that, once.”

  it’s a rare nice moment between siblings. in fact, it’s so rare, she’s almost embarrassed by the smile that seems ever-growing on her face. she sheepishly looks away for a moment and tucks a hair behind her ear, but even so, she takes another step toward him.  ❛❛  YEAH, IT DOES.  ❜❜  she chuckles again.  ❛❛  don’t tell allison, but i think it might suit you better than her.  ❜❜

          it’s been a long time since he’s heard that voice directed at him. “v-vanya?” he stays completely still, almost frozen to his spot by the sinking weight in his stomach. there’s no logical way this should be happening but she’s definitely looking at him. not through him, but at him. “it’s okay, i just… you can see me? actually see me?” ever since he’d managed to slap klaus, things had been strange. as if the natural order of the world had tilted off axis slightly. this, however, he would have never expected this.

   she’s still in shock. her mouth hangs open. her eyes are wide as they can be. it’s almost as if she thinks blinking might make this moment go away, so she just tries to keep still. so much of their life had been so surreal, growing up in a family of superheroes, but this — this might take the cake.  ❛❛  YEAH. i- i can see you.  ❜❜ her voice is shaky and she takes a small, cautious step toward him. ❛❛ h- how are you doing this? ❜❜

❛ ah.  right. ❜ he’d forgotten for a moment that she’s the only other medicated one in this house.  not self-medicated, obviously.  properly medicated ; interesting concept.  ❛ and the uh…medication doesn’t stop you worrying? ❜

      she sighed and tucked a loose hair behind her ear.  ❛❛ UNFORTUNATELY, no.  ❜❜  she furrowed her brows, trying to find the words to better describe it. it was strangely harder than she expected, but she hadn’t really stopped to think about it before and honestly, she couldn’t really a remember a time in her life when she hadn’t been on these pills. instinctively, she grabbed the bottle out of her pocket and started to examine it as she spoke.  ❛❛ it just numbs it or... ❜❜  she scratched at the back of her head.  ❛❛ makes it more manageable. ❜❜

                klaus lets out a light chuckle under his breath. of course vanya was right, but being back under the roof still brought that same old useless feeling back in his gut, even when the old man wasn’t here. he looks back at his sister and shrugs, perhaps entertaining something else could be good to get literally anyone’s mind off it.   “ i mean, who’s to say ?   i’m trying out some other theories on what fucked with us this bad.  daddy issues are a bit overdone, is all, don’t you think ?  ”

   everyone’s on edge being back under this roof again. it’s almost like when they were kids. luther and diego fighting. allison being pretty as ever. and klaus being well...klaus. it’s almost comforting, so she bites. ❛❛  YEAH?  ❜❜  she chuckles softly.  ❛❛  what are some of your other theories?  ❜❜
