I think a lot of the arguments I’m seeing here on the question of TotK and imperialism comes down to a sort of Doylist/Watsonian divide. I don’t think there’s anyone who’s seriously accusing Rauru of secretly being evil or committing genocide or whatever — the fact is that the story of TotK presents a world in which a more technologically advanced nation came to rule over surrounding nations because they all agreed it was the best decision, and the only guy who disagreed is pure evil and becomes hated by his own people. The issue with TotK is that it follows the exact narrative that imperialism and neo-colonialism use to justify themselves — that the nations they control wanted it, that they benefit from it, that it’s possible for someone to be born in a position that makes them an innately good leader due to their ancestry. Arguing against that with things like Rauru being a good leader and Ganondorf being evil doesn’t make sense because that’s the point. If both characters were portrayed with a bit more complexity, this wouldn’t be an argument at all, because the story wouldn’t be following an imperialist narrative.

Hey btw AO3 has a support page and one of the things you can contact them about are 'requests to canonize or change tags'. I am unsure if this includes the creation of a new fandom tag, but I figure it's worth a shot to send AO3 requests to pretty pretty please give Linked Universe its own fandom tag.
Linked Universe is a sub-fandom of the wider LOZ fandom that has quite literally thousands of fics on AO3 and no fandom tag. This is ridiculous and makes things difficult for both fans of the comic and those of us who aren't. Nobody likes the current situation and I'm pretty sure it's the result of an oversight and lack of knowledge regarding the current LOZ fandom state.
I think it's very reasonable to contact support with a request to add a fandom tag for them. I already have a while ago and have not heard back yet, which is understandable, as it's a small group of volunteers handling an undoubtedly huge workload. Regardless, I think if multiple requests for an LU fandom tag come in, there's a much higher chance of it actually working.
Some useful pages:
AO3's Tags FAQ
Tag Wrangling Guidelines for Fandom Tags
Particularly, the wrangling guide has a short section for 'Fanworks as Fandoms', which reads:
It depends on whether in the judgement of wranglers these are something separate from the parent fandom, and whether on a case-by-case basis it is suitable to be subtagged to the parent fandom, or simply synned to the fandom. In general, fanworks are synned to their parent fandoms, but they may be canonized if they are known to be widely popular outside the Archive.
Currently, LU fics are synned to the parent fandom (LOZ) if the 'Linked Universe' tag is used as a fandom tag. The request is to canonize LU as a fandom tag, because it is widely popular outside of the Archive AND the current state makes the LOZ tag and its sub-fandoms difficult to navigate.
I'm by no means an expert on the workings of AO3, but I find it patently ridiculous that the second largest LOZ fandom on AO3 (after BOTW) does not have its own fandom tag, and frankly, I think it's probably the most egregious failure of AO3's systems I've ever seen. I encourage people to contact them about it.
#probably best to avoid spamming though#ao3 does have people individually going through this stuff#so while more people asking for it is def good#don’t send in multiple requests with the same wording just because

Okay so this works for me. Link’s actor is 16, and Zelda’s is 20-21. My biggest concern for the casting is that they were going to go with actors that were way too old to play the characters. TotK had Link and Zelda at around 23, but before that the oldest they had been was 17.5 for Link (Skyward Sword) and 20 for Zelda (Twilight Princess). So this is fine. I still wish they had gone for actors in their tweens or early teens because I lowkey feel like that makes for more compelling versions of the characters, but I understand why it’s a safer bet to have older actors. Not every film is as fortunate as Harry Potter was to have fantastic child actors (I don’t support JK Rowling but the fact is that those actors did a great job back then). Yeah I’m cautiously optimistic. Zelda is my favorite media property so I hope it’s good, but ultimately what matters to me is the mainline games. If the movie flops, it’ll just end up on the pile with the CD-i games and cartoon. Ah well, ya know?

• If Demise had remained sealed, they would have considered Hyrule too dangerous
• Hylians and the Rito return to the Surface
• The Zonai take inspiration from the ancient technology of Hyrule to create the Constructs and other advancements
Founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule
• The Zonai Disappearance Event occurs, leaving only a few remaining in Hyrule
• Rauru works with Sonia to seal away monsters, and together they found the Kingdom
Events of the Dragon Tears Occur
• Takes place at the same time as Ocarina of Time
• The Imprisoning War occurs, with Ganondorf being sealed by the sages in the absence of a hero
Rise of Calamity Ganon
• Ganondorf’s attempts to escape create Calamity Ganon who returns again and again
• The Master Sword is wielded by heroes who travel through time and twilight, along with the Ancient Hero
Events of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Occur
#rereading this and I think it still holds up#I forgot how I resolved the skyward sword time travel problems#basically Hylia is the goddess of time and the time travel stuff she plans for is closed loop#but the stuff she didn’t plan for (Zelda sending Link back at the end of OoT‚ Termina stuff) isn’t#while Link probably goes through multiple loops in Termina‚ since it’s destroyed in all but one there aren’t actually any meaningful#differences between those timelines#so there’s actually a bunch of identical downfall timelines#maybe I should make a YouTube video or something idk

Based on the headcanon that after going in the shrine of resurrection Link's eyes started to glow. Not a personal headcanon of mine so I'm not sure if people mean this in the "casts light" way or in the "minecraft glowsquid" way. Either or!
This one is actually pretty old. I posted a wip of it for an ask game a while ago and decided that I should probably finish it! The lighting was painful. But fun.
Also I love love love Zelda but she is a pain and a half to draw (and I don't really like any of her outfits in either game (except the green dress that one is cute)). Do I know how to draw braids? No. Wheat? Yes. So here we are.
