I gotta change the name of this blog though I just don't like it. It's random and that's usually fine but I'm not vibing with it.

The blog
I'm just gonna write everything here with not much quality control or worrying about what other people might think. These are my thoughts, as uncensored as I can post them.

Kinda fucked up that when an adult says they have no sexual desire certain parts of the internet just go "you are ace :)))" instead of urging them to go to the doctor to get that checked out. There are so many health issues that present with no or low libido.

Literally no one cares about me and a lot of people actively dislike me. Not sure how long I can handle it.

Even after over a year of using ChatGPT, I still often don't have it in my head to just ask it questions if I am curious about something. I'm often just like "ah, this is a thing I always wanted to know the answer to but it would be difficult to find out, guess I will never know" when I can just... Ask now.

AI = bad, but only when you feel like it is
I find it funny that a lot of people demonizing "AI" actually love AI but only for uses they approve of. It doesn't even actually matter to them how the training data is sourced. People are celebrating real-time automatic captions for inclusivity, but they would not have been possible without feeding the system lots and lots of manually transcribed videos without anyone's knowledge or consent.
Same for image recognition systems. They also need a huge amount of data, and though some of it might be produced by the company producing the AI, most of it is "stolen" from the internet. But they are very useful especially for visually impaired people, so that usage of this kind of training data also gets a pass.
Could someone who loves to hate on big bad AI explain why it is permissible to "steal" the training data in these cases?

Not gonna lie when I argue about stuff I'm starting to feel like I went back to first grade and I'm flexing with being able to do basic math. I really should use my brain for something useful but beating up first graders is so tempting!

I wonder how sleep needs correlates with earnings and life satisfaction. If you have to sleep less than someone else, you can work more than them. Or if you don't work more, your life satisfaction is going to be higher because you have more freetime. The quality of life difference on average between people who only need to sleep 7 hours and falls asleep in 2 minutes and people who need 9 hours of sleep and need half an hour to fall asleep is gotta be huge.

Artists knew that it's one of the most useless thing they can do with their time and that there's no guarantees. It is what it is. (Artist btw.)

"My art is worth way less now!" - So is any other work that has been automated away. The problem is not automation, it's that the resources don't get shared from it efficiently.

I don't know how people can deal with being friends with people who don't share at least mostly the same views about the universe as them. Like atheists being friends with religious people - I don't think it is true friendship if the two people live in universes so different, and behind their back the atheist laughs about how dumb the religious friend is. And how is that a friendship if the religious person doesn't try to save the atheist from hell or whatever they believe in?
