Dax, Week 15

THEY REALLY LIKE BUMBLEBEES.

He looked unamused and a little betrayed as he drew the back of a hand over his lips. He leaned over and pressed a finger against their nose while staring them in the face.

“You are an ass,” he finally managed to rasp, after letting out a few coughs. After another wheeze, he presses the half-finished glass of spice into Tak’s other hand before theatrically groaning and lowering himself to the floor.

“Help, you’ve slain me, tell my wife and children that I love them.”

A few dying gasps and a moment of limbs flailing, he lay still. The act would have been flawless if he weren’t glaring at Tak from the corner of his eye.

He fell for it. Commence the snickering – of course he did, he’s Blake, he’s amazingly gullible.

Takumi hadn’t even lifted the glass of ketchup-water past the point they had it before, settling just to watch Blake sputter the spicy mixture everywhere. Ahh, sweet unofficial victory. They patted his back lightly to help, even slightly.

“You look great like that, you know. Tears forming in your eyes, hot sauce down your chin, coughing uncontrollably, and feeling the burn.”

He squinted at the liquid that Takumi was sloshing at him. It looked suspiciously like blood, but he trusted Tak enough not that it wasn’t that. Still didn’t make it look any less appetizing. He clinked his glass to their’s, and with a quick “Cheers,” he started chugging it.

... Only to immediately cough as his eyes grew wide at the spicy flavor flooding his mouth.

He only managed half the drink before he had to straighten up and sputter. He winced at how his throat was on fire before peering over to see how Tak was faring.

“Purrhaps it is. Last time I made you swipe a pair of Scar’s jammies, so if you think you can come up with better...”

He crosses his arms triumphantly with a smirk.

“No, I’m not him, and all I did was walk into a doorway and y–”

Cat rules. What risky business, Blake. Takumi switched from fury to a cocky grin immediately.

“Is that a challenge?”

“Aha! You’ve sprung the Great Bl-- Eh wot? You’re not V.”

The ‘offender’ lifted his hands from over Takumi’s eyes with a frown.

“Well if you hadn’t gotten in my way, you wouldn’t have gotten pounced on. Y’know the cat rules.”

And there it was – a short, high-pitched, loud screech that could only come from a surprised tiger being pounced on by a devious lion. The fake glasses skidded at least three feet away, and Takumi growled more than fiercely at the offender.

“What did I say about pouncing?!”
