apologies for the hiatus, i'm currently taking a break; i probably won't be properly back for a while, but i just wanted to ask

what's the difference between cw and tw? because i've seen both used in tags for posts and stuff but i never really know which i should properly use for some stories that i post, and i want to be sure that i use them properly in the future so i don't offend or upset anyone

mario headcanon lore idea

during a bunch of his solo adventures, mario's ended up having to use a lot of 1-ups, either due to facing a powerful enemy, taking a misstep and falling somewhere dangerous (or falling in general), missing a jump, etc.

but he barely tells anybody about it because he's always known as "the hero". the one who always knows what to do; the one who never messes up and always wins. the one people rely on. so he doesn't want to worry people.

but of course with peach often being involved in most of his adventures, she ended up knowing about most of them (the one she remembers most vividly was when she was trapped in a cage and had to watch bowser and mario fight, with mario requiring a 1-up during it; it still gives her nightmares sometimes). because of that, she's often felt guilty and blames herself for mario going through so much just for her safety, but mario always reassures her that it's never her fault.

and then there's luigi. the one person that mario never wanted to tell this to. all of his 1-ups. he knows it'll make luigi extremely worried, but he knows that the longer he takes to tell the truth, the more it's going to hurt luigi. luigi knows that many of the adventures mario goes on solo are dangerous; he often sits next to the front door just waiting for mario to come back so he can be right there to help in case mario received any injuries. eventually, after a while, mario does confess the truth. it hurts luigi knowing how much mario has been through and not being able to be there to help, but what hurts more is the fact that at this point, mario has no idea how many times he's died. how many 1-ups he's used. he lost count. and not only does that worry luigi, but it terrifies mario. how many times did it happen? were times he passed out or went unconscious in the past actually him using a 1-up? he can't even tell the difference anymore.

suffice to say, once luigi knows, he insists on coming on every single adventure mario goes on, no matter how dangerous or scary it might seem. not only to keep mario company, but to make sure mario never has to go through that alone again. and to make sure he never goes through it again in general

Hey Pap! I got finished writing an arc that was my adaptation of Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood, and concluded Luigi’s villain arc (long story) that ended with Luigi’s redemption. With no other Mario games to adapt as of right now, what are some your ideas for original stories? I’m asking because you’re the only good Mario fanfic writer I’ve seen. Any idea helps!

Hello! That's a good question, actually. Fun fact, I'm actually in the process of writing a Mario fanfic right now. I'm writing it in this game on Roblox called "Library of Aletheia", and it's about 90 pages long so far (it's already published, but I'm still adding more and more to it every other day).

The story mainly focuses on the aftermath of Luigi getting all his Mr. L memories back after E. Gadd's experiment that got rid of his Floro Sprout remnants (in the part 2 of my 2023 Christmas Q&A). In the months that followed, Luigi started to be able to remember those events more and more clearly, remembering everything he did and said to Mario and the others. With those memories being really clear now in the present, he feels heavy guilt for it, even though he wasn't in control of himself back then. He's started to deal with a few intrusive thoughts because of it, feeling as thought he's actually a bad person and that all he does is hurt people. Mario's been trying his best to help Luigi through it, along with Princess Peach. A few things happen throughout the story that help get Luigi's mind off of it temporarily, but he's still in the process of trying to heal from it. If you're interested in seeing more of that fanfic and have a Roblox account, then feel free to check out that game! There's a search feature on there that you can use to find my book. Besides that fanfic though, I do have a few ideas focusing on the past of some of the characters in my AU, such as Mario & Luigi's life with their parents before the Shroob Invasion, Mario & Bowser's history, and more.

why is it that the second i see any new story or new form of media that i like my immediate reaction is "oh angst idea :)"

there was the wild robot with the idea of not being able to fully let go of those close to you and being scared you'll never see them again

and then today i looked into mother 3 to learn about lucas just to know the context of the smash bros brawl subspace cutscene he's introduced in, and i learn that not only has lucas been struggling with the loss of a parental figure, but also his twin brother going missing and him thinking it's his fault for not doing anything to stop it

this sort of thing. i genuinely have no idea how i thought he actually had that on his design. i'm trying to figure out if it was fanart i saw with that on mario's outfit but i just genuinely don't know

i don't know how i didn't realize this until now but i just realized mario & luigi's overalls do not in fact have a big pocket on the front

for some reason i always thought they did and they could like store powerups in there and stuff but no they do not in fact have a pocket like that on their actual design

do you guys ever think about how when luigi first encountered the twins in the first game he might've gotten reminded of himself and mario when they were younger which probably made him miss mario even more
