[Kiroku SR] Sharing the Caramel - Wrapping Up Feelings
Tumblr media
Part 1
Kindergarten Teacher: Alright, Shiki-chan, I'll see you tomorrow~!
Shiki: Byyye-byyye!
Kiroku: Thank you, very… much.
Tumblr media
Shiki: —and then! I played shop with everyone after that.
Shiki¹ was a nail arti~st. Look! My nails are all sparkly♪
Kiroku: …They, are. Very stylish…
Shiki: Uh-huh~♪ What'd you do at school today big bwo²?
Kiroku: …I made, these.
*rustle*
Shiki: Wah! Cookies? So cu~~~te!!
Kiroku: …Mhm. They're, iced… cookies. I tried… drawing on them.
Shiki: Wo~w! You're a genius, big bwo♪ But why've you been making sweets every day?
Kiroku: Nanamegi… ah… one of, my friends… is, learning to, bake… from, Kurama… …And I'm, accompanying him.
Shiki: Oo~h! I wanna learn from Ushio-kun toooooo.
Kiroku: …I'll try, asking.
Shiki: Yaaay♪ …Ah, but Shiki also liked the caramel sweets you made before!
They were gentle, like you!
Kiroku: …I see. I'll, make them… again, then.
Ah… …and I'll, give you… these cookies, too. You can, eat them.
Shiki: Really!? Yaaay, I wu~v you big bwo♪
Kiroku: ……Mhm.
Shiki: But, it's ki~nda disappointing.
Kiroku: …Huh… disa, ppointing?
Shiki: The cookies are so cute, so why're they in a plastic bag? You get these from the supermarket!
Kiroku: Ah… …that's what you mean.
Shiki: Cute cookies hafta be more stylish~
Kiroku: You mean… with stylish, wrapping…?
Shiki: Yeah! Everyone says the inside matters most, but nobody's gonna look inside if the outside isn't nice, y'know?
Tumblr media
Kiroku: …So scathing, all of a sudden…
Shiki: And it's the same for sweets! Understand? Big bwo.
Kiroku: …Uu… …yeah.
Shiki: If it were me~… I'd wanna wrap ‘em like candy, with sparkly origami paper~…
And, I think it'd be cute to use bead accessories instead'a string!
Kiroku: (…Wrapping. I hadn't thought about it, but like she says, it's probably… important…)
I'll… give wrapping, a go. Thanks for, the advice… Shiki.
…Nail artists, really… do have, good… taste.
Shiki: Hehe. It tickles when you pat me, big bwo~♪
¹Shiki switches between referring to herself in third person and first person. I've defaulted to first unless explicitly otherwise
²Shiki calls Kiroku "Niini" ("にいに") which is a childish way of saying "big brother"
Part 2
Tumblr media
Nanaki: Um… like this?
Ushio: …*sigh*, do you have to look at my expression every time? If I'm not criticising you, then you're doing fine. That should be obvious.
Come on, let's move on. Sift the flour and…
*door opens*
Nanaki: Ah, Kiroku. Hey ther—
*rustle*
Nanaki: ? What's that?
Kiroku: …Hey, there. This is… different kinds of, wrapping paper.
Ushio: Wrapping paper?
Kiroku: …Mhm.
My sister… said that, if you're… giving someone a present… you need to, focus on the wrapping, too.
…Apparently, saying the, inside… is more important, than the outside… is just… lip service.
Ushio: Wise words for her age, as usual. Though, kindergarteners these days tend to speak more honestly than the average adult.
Nanaki: I see, she might have a point there. The wrapping completely slipped my mind, but I should put some proper thought into it too.
Kiroku. I'll pay you back sometime, so… can I use some once we're done with this? I want to practice my wrapping as well.
Kiroku: …Mhm, got it.
Ushio: Do whatever you want, just save it for after the baking lesson. Also, wrapping isn't my responsibility, so I'm staying out of it.
Tumblr media
Ushio: —Alright, I'm heading back, make sure to clean up and lock the door before you go. Keep in mind that I won't let you get away with leaving even a speck of dust behind.
Nanaki & Kiroku: Got it.
*Ushio leaves*
Nanaki: Alright… let's give this wrapping practice a go.
Kiroku: Mhm…
Tumblr media
Nanaki: Aaargh, crap. I can't get the hang of it at all…!
*rustle*
Nanaki: No surprise that you're good at this, Kiroku.
Kiroku: …Rea, lly…?
Nanaki: I tried imitating some box wrapping guides I found on dazzle, but I just can't get it right.
Kiroku: …Then, how about… this? Wrapping it… like candy, should be… simple.
And when, you fasten it… tying the ribbon, like this… makes it look… fancy, too…
Nanaki: Huh… even I might be able to do that.
Kiroku: …Mhm. It's how, my sister… likes it.
Nanaki: I see.
—This kind of thing is pretty nice.
Kiroku: ? What is?
Nanaki: Wrapping.
I was so focused on what I should make that I didn't consider anything other than the contents—
But that's not all there is to a present. The wrapping will also be full of your feelings.
Kiroku: …
(The wrapping will also, be full of your feelings…)
…Then, if I…
(If I draw, on the wrapping paper… or something. Would that mean the present is more than just the sweets?)
(Shiki would… ah, and Chief would, probably like that, too.)
… …
Nanaki: What are you smiling at?
Kiroku: ! Ah, no… it's, nothing.
(I think I'll also, try preparing, White Day return gifts…)

[Kiroku SSR] Fantasy Ribs - Puffy Portrait Panic!
Tumblr media
Part 1
Tumblr media
Momiji: Phew. Finally finished the emergency shopping… oh, what's that?
There's a huge line over there… Is something going on?
??: Woof!
Momiji: Wait. That voice just now…
Shumai: Woof! Woof!
Momiji: Shumai!? What are you doing all the way out here… were you on a walk with someone?
Shumai: Woof.
*running*
Momiji: Ah, wait up…!
Tumblr media
Shumai: Woof!
Momiji: That's…!
Young Man: Is it really no good? I've become so enamoured…
Kiroku: Ah… um…
Lady: Hey~ please, boy. I'd just love to have one of your…
Kiroku: Uh… um…
Momiji: Kiroku-kun!
Kiroku: …! Ch-Chief…
Momiji: What's up with this crowd…!
Kiroku: Uuh… um… -
Momiji: Ah, I know. Kiroku-kun, let's use PeChat!
Kiroku: …! Got, it.
> Kiroku: sorry i cant explain out loud
< Momiji: No worries, you're good. What happened?
> Kiroku: at first i was just sketching shumai by myself
> then some people came up and said they wanted me to draw their dogs too
> and i couldnt answer properly and now a bunch of people have gathered around and i dont know what to do
Momiji: I see… so you've been getting portrait requests. What do you want to do?
Kiroku: Ah… I, want…
> Kiroku: i like drawing animals so i want to do it if i can
> theyre all so cute
> and i think it could be good practice for giving hospitality by drawing portraits of tourists
Momiji: Got it! Could I help out, then? That way you'll be able to focus on the portraits.
Kiroku: …! …Thank, you…
Shumai: Woof!
Momiji: Shumai can help too. Alright, let's get these customers lined up lickety-split!
Tumblr media
*sketching*
Kiroku: Here… It's… done.
Girl: Waaah! Mummy, look! The Taro the man drew is super cute!
Mother: It certainly is. Come on now, what do we say?
Girl: Thanks mister!
Kiroku: …Y-yeah. You're, wel… come…
Momiji: Thank you very much! Kiroku-kun, want to take a break?
Kiroku: …I want to… continue…
Momiji: Alright, but make sure you don't overdo it. Next in line please.
Kiroku: …
*sketching*
Momiji: (Kiroku-kun looks earnest… It's incredible how he's managed to stay focused the whole time despite doing quite a lot.)
(He even gets the finer details done neatly, like the collar designs and ribbon frills. I'm sure the owners will be happy with them.)
Tumblr media
Kiroku: This one's… the last…
Lady: Oh dearie me! You drew him so adorably, isn't that wonderful Uu-chan?
Kiroku: Uu… chan…?
Uu-chan: Grr… awoo~…!
Lady: That would be my baby here, his name is actually Ulysses¹, but it's cute to call him Uu-chan.
Momiji: (With those sharp eyes, and that name… doesn't he resemble Ushio-kun a bit…?)
Uu-chan: Awooo! Bark!
Kiroku: !!
Lady: Wait! Uu-chan, where are you going!
Momiji: This is bad, after him!
Tumblr media
Momiji: *pant, pant*… Doesn't look like he's here either… How about it, Shumai? Can you smell him?
Shumai: Woof… whimper…
Momiji: I see… I wonder where he went…
Lady: Uuu, Uu-chan…
Kiroku: …-…
…I… shouldn't have, drawn, that… portra…
Momiji: Huh?
Kiroku: When I… handed it over… her grip, on the lead, loosened… so that she… could look at, it.
Which meant… Uu-chan, could… escape…
Momiji: That's not your fault. Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find—
Shumai: Woof!
Momiji: Ah, Shumai, don't just suddenly take off…!
Kiroku: …! Did he, find… him?
Momiji: There's some people over there, let's go ask!
¹The dog's name is actually William, which starts with a "ウ/U" when written in katakana, but obviously it starts with "W" in the Roman alphabet, so I changed it to a name starting with "U".
Part 2
Tumblr media
Uu-chan: …Bark.
Lady: Uu-chan! You're safe…!
Kiroku: Thank good… ness…
Momiji: The portrait Kiroku-kun made came in really handy when talking to those people.
Shumai: Woof! Woof!
Kiroku: Thank you, too… Shumai.
Shumai: Woof!
Lady: Thank you all, truly. Here, have the treats I bought on my way to the park. Please do enjoy them.
Momiji: Wow, that's such a cute cookie tin! Are you sure?
Lady: I insist. This picture is so vivid, Uu-chan must have thought it was real and gotten startled.
That's how wonderful it is. I'm very grateful, boy!
Kiroku: …!
Thank you, too… I had… fun. Drawing… Uu-chan…
Momiji: (Kiroku-kun seems happy. What a relief…!)
Tumblr media
Shumai: Yaaaw…oof.
Momiji: You worked really hard today, Shumai. You too, Kiroku-kun. Here, some hot chocolate. Let's eat the cookies we got earlier too.
Kiroku: …Thank, you.
Momiji: I'm glad everyone was happy, even with that incident.
…Still, all of the portraits were wonderful. I wonder if it's because you enjoyed drawing them—I could look at any of them forever and not feel bored.
Kiroku: …
In that, case… should I, draw, a portrait… of you, too…?
Momiji: What!? Really?
Kiroku: You helped… a lot, so… as thanks…
Momiji: I'd love that. Alright, please go right ahead!
Tumblr media
*sketching*
Kiroku: …
Momiji: …
Kiroku: ……
Momiji: ………
(Th-this is bad…)
Kiroku: …
Momiji: (Kiroku-kun's staring directly at me…)
(So this is how it feels to have a portrait done. It's a little embarrassing…)
Option 1: Talk to him like this
Momiji: Ki-Kiroku-kun… is it okay to talk right now?
Kiroku: …?
Momiji: (He's not looking away…)
Um, how should I put this… This kind of thing, feels a little awkward…
Kiroku: …? What, does…?
Momiji: Well… staring at each other like this for so long, I guess…?
Kiroku: …
Tumblr media
Kiroku: ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Momiji: Ah…! I-I'm sorry!? Even though you were concentrating, I…!
Kiroku: It… it's… al… ri… ght.
Option 2: Avert my gaze
Momiji: (Ah, I'll try looking at his hands. That way—)
Kiroku: …Chief.
Momiji: Wh-what?
Kiroku: Look… this way.
Momiji: Huh!?
Kiroku: I want to, draw you, while looking, at you, properly… Because, your eyes… are very… pretty.
Momiji: I-I see… thank you…
Kiroku: I'm… done.
Momiji: Uwah…! It's so colourful, but so coordinated at the same time. My own face looks so radiant here…! You really are incredible, Kiroku-kun!
Kiroku: …-…
Momiji: I really like it. Thank you so much! I'll go put it up in my room right away.
Kiroku: Ah… wai…
Momiji: Hm?
Kiroku: Uu……
Momiji: Ah, wanna use PeChat?
Kiroku: N-no… I'll use, my own, words…
Momiji: Alright, got it.
Kiroku: …
The reason, your portrait… is so colourful… is… because, I drew you… the way I, see… you.
To me… you're… someone who's, always… surrounded by, smiles… Both from, the people around you… and, your own, as… well.
So you're… overflowing with… all sorts of, colour. Sparkling and… dazzling.
Momiji: Kiroku-kun…
(The words he's getting out bit by bit are making me feel all warm inside.)
Kiroku: I'd like you to… keep showing me, lots of colours. …Thank you, for, today.
Momiji: …That's my line! Let's keep getting along from here on out too.

[Coordinate of Kaguya] Track 5 - Deneb
Tumblr media
I rushed to my room.
Sure enough, I could see the helmet there on my desk.
Illuminated by the light descending from the moon, I gently picked it up.
Even though six years had passed since my father disappeared, even though it would have been made even before then, it hadn't deteriorated in the slightest.
It must have been stored very carefully. The same way you would a treasure.
"…"
This was surely an expression of my mother's feelings.
That if I believed in my father, if I would continue to insist he was abducted, then I should go to space to meet him—that's how I interpreted it.
"Yes, that must be it."
In that case, I wanted my mother to feel at ease, and continue on the path she believed in.
While I, myself, continued on the path I decided.
I tried on the helmet. I looked at my surroundings through the visor.
It fit perfectly, like I'd been wearing it for a long time.
My field of vision was clear, and I could breathe naturally, as if it had always been a part of my body.
My stepfather was a good person.
I understood why my mother chose him. He'd definitely make a good father.
He'd definitely make my mother happy.
But my only father would always be him.
Only the one who was a space-loving weirdo, that you found yourself loving regardless.
"…"
Regarding my younger sister, who was yet to be born.
I was considerably shocked when I first heard my mother was pregnant, but now, when I thought about the fact that I'd have a younger sister, I felt incredibly blessed.
I'd have a sibling.
It was a new step forward, that I would properly take as well.
Once my younger sister was born, I wanted to give her lots of affection, and do everything I could to make her happy.
And so—
I'd wear the helmet from my father every day from then on.
Training is required to go to space. This is part of it.
And more than anything, it's an expression of my determination.
"Wait for me, father."
I will, absolutely, become an astronaut.
When Kinugawa and I arrived at Hama House with our princesses, Uu-chan was there to greet us.
As promised, he treated us to strawberry chocolate donuts.
Though he seemed occupied with reading one of those thin books by "sensei", so he rushed through the formalities and returned to our room.
"I love Ushio-kun's sweets. They're always sooo tasty."
"That guy called Ushio-kun made these? Then I'm gonna be Ushio-kun's bride!"
"You can't, do, that, I won't, allow it…"
Kinugawa shakes his head with deep creases between his brows, and our little sisters laugh at the sight.
"You're also very doting, Kinugawa," I laugh, and Kinugawa turns red.
We wipe the stickiness from our sister's mouths, and give them warm milk tea.
We listen carefully to their excited chatter.
—It’s a peaceful scene.
"…"
Several years have passed since the day I took on my father's purpose and decided I would absolutely go out and find him.
Communicating with space still isn't going well. I haven't gained any information on UFOs, either.
"I'll bring back my father, and get my life back on track."
That is my dearest wish.
Since joining the Regional Revitalisation Club, my focus had somewhat shifted to other things, but—I know that my time had stopped, that day on the prairie when my father disappeared.
So even now, seeing such a peaceful, happy scene unfold before my eyes, I can't help but think…
What comes after bringing my dad back…?
"…No."
I shouldn't think about that right now. I still haven't found him.
And there is surely more time yet until I do.
I still have time to think about it… I must.
"Onii-chan, do you love me?"
"Yes."
"Am I cuuute?"
"Of course, you're so cute that I just want to swallow you whole."
"…Love, is sca…ry."
After that, Kinugawa goes ahead and takes his little sister home first. She leaves behind a handwritten note for Uu-chan that says "thanks ushiokun".
As for me, I have to kill some time before the archery class my mother is holding finishes.
"Onii-chan, read me a picture book before we go!"
I accede to the Princess's pleading.
"Got it. What book shall we read today…"
"Princess Kaguya!"
"Understood."
It will only take a short while, so I begin to read the Princess's favourite picture book when…
"Ooh~♪ is that Princess Kaguya?"
Yowa-san appears, holding a bag with "Cafe369" printed on it like some sort of code.
"I've read that one too! I like the plot, so I remember it well. It reminds me of a man I met on a star not too long ago—he was also a descendant of Princess Kaguya."
"What?"
A flash of light filled my brain.
Questions dominate the inside of my mind, spinning around and around.
"A descendant of Princess Kaguya…?"
"Yes, that's exactly right♪"
And then—at Yowa-san's smile, I feel as though the pieces start to come together.
"A traitor of the moon."
I become transfixed, unable to avert my gaze for a while.

[Coordinate of Kaguya] Track 4 - Cor Caroli
Tumblr media
The prairie was quiet, just like that day.
Stars that looked as though they would pour down at any moment were dotted all around, shining to assert their existence.
"*wheeze*… *pant*… I'm tired… isn't this equipment too heavy…!?"
"That's why I said I'd carry half."
"*pant*, *pant*, I'm FINE… at least let me do this much."
'Then what are you complaining for?', I thought, but seeing Uu-chan smile while dripping with sweat, the words completely faded from my mind.
Uu-chan placed down the equipment, and we set it all up one by one.
"You're really good at this. Just what I'd expect from Muu-chan."
"Naturally."
"So, the plan is… communicate with aliens, and make it known that UFOs exist in this world. And then the misunderstanding about your father will be cleared up."
"Yes."
"The misunderstanding is… that your father cheated and ran away, right?"
Uu-chan's tone held a hint of danger. I gave a small nod.
"Your father was a weirdo, but he definitely wouldn't cheat or anything. Maybe grown-ups just don't get that kinda thing."
"Yes, they really don't."
"…Does your mother also think he cheated?"
"She's joked about it, but I don't know the truth. However, she has said that there's no point in waiting endlessly for someone who's gone, and that we should face forward."
My mother loved my father, and spent a while crying over him, but she eventually resolved to move on.
"As a mother, I must put my child's happiness first," she said, and remarried.
My stepfather was the complete opposite of my father.
He was eloquent, bright, and sociable. He never so much as talked about space, and would never think to make a helmet as a present. And he never suggested going to a prairie to communicate with UFOs over summer break.
He was the type to work out a plan for a family trip to a summer resort months in advance. He did his best to treasure my mother and myself, who still wasn't fond of him.
That much was clear. But even so—
"…I really do hate grown-ups."
Uu-chan muttered aloofly, then quickly realised what he said and bowed his head apologetically.
"Sorry, I shouldn't say that about your mother."
"It's fine. I know you've gone through a lot due to grown-ups discretion, Uu-chan."
We finished setting up. It was almost time.
Digging up the memories of what my father did that day, I first had to transmit some morse code as a test; next, despite not knowing how far it would reach, transmit a pulse. Search for electronic responses in the sky with a radar.
Use the radio telescope. Shout. Wish. Pray.
And yet.
"…"
"…Nothing's happening, huh."
"It's not."
It wasn't like that day.
The stars simply shone radiantly, looking down on us, who stood there dumbfounded.
"Why on earth would you sneak out in the middle of the night and come back the next! You had us worried!"
When I returned home with Uu-chan in dismay, what we found waiting for us was a lecture from my stepfather.
He was a gentle person—I'd never once heard him raise his voice, but it seemed even he couldn't overlook running away from home.
"I apologise for my selfishness. It was terrible of me."
I bowed my head, and my stepfather looked as though he were about to cry.
"No… I'm relieved that you returned home without any trouble. Really…"
"I'm really sorry. How's mother doing?"
"She's resting in bed. Seems she was a bit shocked."
"I'll go and apologise to her right away. …It would be awful if this affected the baby."
"Huh?"
Uu-chan had been looking at the ground, having been roped into the scolding, but suddenly snapped his head up.
"A baby… with you, old man?"
My stepfather nodded silently.
Uu-chan gasped, looked at my profile, then finally dropped his head once more.
"I really do hate grown-ups. I'm gonna be on Muu-chan's side no matter what."
I couldn't see his expression, but his voice sounded like it was trembling slightly.
His words, his tone of voice—I turned them over in my mind countless times. I was certain I always would.
Uu-chan.
Because you were beside me, there were things I didn't have to let go of.
"I'll escort Ushio-kun back. Muneuji-kun, please go and reassure your mother."
Those words from my stepfather felt as though they signalled the end of this long night.
I walked into my mother's room.
When she noticed my presence, she quickly sat up.
Her hair and face were a mess.
I rushed over to her. To avoid shocking her, I clung onto her body.
"I'm sorry, mother…! I didn't mean to make you sad…!"
"I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have ignored your feelings for so long."
My mother hugged me tenderly.
"You wanted to protect his place here, since you were waiting for him, weren't you?"
"… Yeah."
My mother didn't criticise me, as though she understood how I felt.
"You know, the helmet he was making for you…"
"Huh?"
"It was finished a long time ago. Before he disappeared. But… we had to forget about him. You and I both had to move forward, so I hid it away."
"…"
My mother gently stroked my head in exchange, and lovingly said:
"I returned it earlier, on top of your desk."
"-…!”

[Coordinate of Kaguya] Track 3 - Sirius
Tumblr media
"So you grabbed all the equipment and came here? It's like you're running away from home. You're so cool, Muu-chan."
"I'm honoured."
As usual, my destination was Uu-chan's house. There wasn't anywhere else I could go, anyway.
When I suddenly arrived in the middle of the night, Uu-chan kindly made me feel welcome. He even treated me to some homemade chocolate cake.
"I was thinking we may as well eat it together before going through with the plan tomorrow."
"I really can't thank you enough, Uu-chan."
Slightly embarrassed, Uu-chan turned away from me, and I could see Mamarobo folding laundry behind him.
She's an old, outdated model, but I found myself surprisingly fond of this robot. While she may be a dull matt gold and have some wear, those just gave her a certain charm.
Uu-chan would often make insincere remarks about how she's "silent and creepy", but Mamarobo was always immaculately polished.
As if he had been waiting for Mamarobo to finish folding and leave the room, Uu-chan tilted his head and peered into my face.
"Won't they be mad tomorrow?"
"I'm prepared for it."
"Well, make yourself at home, then. You can use my house whenever, and talk about whatever you want. If it's a request from you, anything goes."
"You're such a good friend. I'm sincerely thankful to have you."
"I mean, compared to what you've done for me, Muu-chan, this isn't…"
Uu-chan muttered before snapping his mouth shut, embarrassed to say more.
"Well, whatever, I'm going to sleep so I'm ready for tomorrow."
…And just like that.
"Snore… mimimi…"
After preparing a futon for me with Mamarobo, Uu-chan promptly fell asleep.
I couldn't rest at all, thinking of tomorrow and—of my father's face.
My father held a longing for space, but unlike others who devoted themselves to it, he didn't belong to any of the country's research institutions. He studied space all by himself.
It seemed natural that an official institution would make things easier. When I questioned why he didn't join one despite that, he said:
"It seemed like a pain."
"…It did?"
It was nothing special—he simply wanted to research as he pleased.
With all those rules and restrictions, he thought he wouldn't be able to research the way he wished.
He was the type of person who wanted to fulfill his dream of becoming an astronaut with his own actions, without relying on our country's assistance.
"I've actually encountered an alien in the past. …And ever since, I've been unable to stop thinking about those three numbers."
"Numbers?"
"We'll research them non-stop as well."
I respected that about my father, and believed in his methods.
"Excuse me, dear… why are you going around wearing a helmet?"
"To test it out. I made it with Muneuji."
"You're such an odd one, why did I ever… and yet, I still love you for some reason…"
"I'll revise the design a bit more and make one for Muneuji."
My father was such a weirdo that even my mother would wonder why she married him—
"It's not everyday you see someone as beautiful as Kaguya-san's husband."
"He seems like he'd be popular. Though his weirdness probably scares everyone off."
"Good day, madams."
"Oh my, speak of the devil… if it isn't Kaguya-san's husband and Muneuji-kun! Good day~ are you on a stroll?"
"The mass of the Chandrasekhar limit."
"Y-yes? Pardon?"
"Excuse me, I'm just thinking. …The Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff limit."
"Father, let's leave it there. The madams are backing away."
"A-ahaha… well then, we'll take our leave now…"
"Gamma ray burst."
…He was known for his peculiar sensibilities that made the madams in the neighborhood keep a distance.
Even so, he loved me a lot and treated me with care.
I'm certain he loved my mother too, from the bottom of his heart.
That's why—I couldn't just ignore the fact that my grandmother, that all the adults around me, had arbitrarily decided he'd run off with another woman.
Everyone had a disgraceful misunderstanding of him.
"Father…"
Tomorrow, I'll definitely communicate with aliens—and clear up the misunderstanding about my dad.

[Coordinate of Kaguya] Track 2 - Sadalmelik
Tumblr media
Uu-chan also lost his family in an accident. He must have had many troubles.
Nevertheless, when I ended up in similar circumstances, Uu-chan was concerned for me, and stayed with me everyday.
"Muu-chan, let's go home together again. Wanna stay over until dinner?"
"I intruded yesterday, and the day before, too. Isn't it annoying?"
"I mean, it's just Mamarobo at home anyway."
"Today's when Weekly Shounen Dive releases, isn't it?"
"I can read it with you there. Don't act so cold."
Uu-chan isn't straightforward, but he's truly a good, kind man.
That's why I talked to him about everything.
What I'd seen. What I should do from there.
All of the truths that the grown-ups didn't believe, that not a single one of my classmates were likely to believe either.
"…which is why, that blinding light must be what a UFO emits when it performs an abduction."
"Huuuh."
"In the past, there have been cases of UFO sightings in various countries. And in one of those countries, after the UFO left, they apparently found deceased cattle torn limb from limb. But dad just disappeared. So there's a high chance he's still alive."
"Mhm."
"You're not going to laugh?"
"It's not like you're gonna lie. I believe you."
I was happy.
Happy that there was even just one person in the world who believed my story.
"My father was taken. So… I want to bring him back."
"'Course you would."
"Will you assist me, Uu-chan?"
"Sure thing."
I was happy.
Happy that Uu-chan agreed far more readily than I imagined.
"So what now? Do you have a plan?"
"A rather textbook one, yes. If I recreate the moment my father was abducted, don't you think a UFO will appear again?"
"Sounds like it's worth a shot."
"However, the equipment we used was taken along with my father. I'll have to prepare everything myself from now on."
"Wow~ sounds tough~"
Uu-chan laughed and made a show of shrugging his shoulders, but his behaviour didn't feel like it was making fun of me at all.
And then—
"Got it. Just let me know if there's anything I can do."
He said it as though it were simply natural to do so.
Uu-chan is truly the kindest.
Preparing to recreate that day required a considerable amount of time.
I couldn't buy high-grade communication equipment on an elementary student's allowance, and the memory of what exactly my father used was hazy, so it took a number of years to gather what seemed right.
It then took even more years to learn the ins and outs of the wireless technology my father was skilled with.
By the time the preparations were finally in good order, Uu-chan and I were twelve years old.
Nevertheless, the reason I could get it all properly done was thanks to Uu-chan's cooperation.
I gazed up at the pitch black sky from my window and thought.
Tomorrow night would mark six years since my father disappeared. Failure was not an option.
I'd make sure I succeeded. Absolutely.
Then, as I was thoroughly inspecting the equipment—
"Muneuji, are you still awake? Come downstairs! We need to talk about tomorrow!"
It was my mother's voice.
"…"
I didn't… want to go.
So I impulsively pretended I didn't hear her.
I told myself I had a duty more important than anything else tomorrow.
All the while feeling that it's like I was in my rebellious period.
However, realising I wasn't going to respond, my mother ascended the stairs.
"Come now, I'm calling for you. Hurry up downstairs."
"…Fine."
Greeting us in the living room was the voice of an eloquent man.
"Well, it can't be helped. Muneuji-kun's at that age where he'll want to be alone at times, you know?"
"…"
"But he won't listen at all about our trip tomorrow."
"…"
"Yes, that's true."
The man scratched his head, looking troubled, and turned to face me, choosing his words carefully as he spoke.
"Sorry about calling for you and all."
I…
"I was wondering if you didn't want to go, Muneuji-kun?"
I…
"Since it's finally summer vacation, I'm sure it'd be fun if we could all go on a trip or something…"
I—
"I won't go."
"W-wait, Muneuji!"
"Ah—… right, I see…"
"I have something more important to do tomorrow. Excuse me, then."
That night, I grabbed all the communication equipment, and fled the house.
I didn't tell my mother, nor the man smiling with his eyebrows lowered next to her, where I was going.

[Coordinate of Kaguya] Track 1 - Canopus
Tumblr media
"Do you think things will go well today, father?"
When I was a child, I thought that prairie was boundless.
That prairie—it was a place my father had taken us both to countless times.
"I wonder. …Whatever the outcome, I'll keep going."
My father muttered curtly as he installed the radio, radar, and small parabolic antenna.
His words betrayed his resignation that success seemed difficult this time as well.
I noticed even as a child, and so refrained from saying more.
Under my father's instructions, I grasped the telescope—one a tad larger than our usual one—with both hands.
It was hard for an elementary schooler to keep it in place, but my father soon reached out an arm, and the sloping telescope returned to its usual position.
I gave a small laugh, and my father's serious expression loosened a bit.
"I wonder what shape the aliens will take."
A casual question.
One guaranteed to soften my father's usual stiff, tight expression—
"The alien I saw had the shape of a firefly squid."
That's how he responded.
My father was someone who dreamed of "space".
Declaring that he'd someday become an astronaut and go to space, he'd take me along when I was still young to a prairie with no sign of life in the middle of the night, and attempt to contact extraterrestrial lifeforms.
No part of his dream was even close to success.
So, this time too…
This time too, I thought it would be the same, and yet—
"Huh?"
A sudden blinding light.
Impact.
The sound of my father gasping.
The equipment clattering and rumbling as it floated up into the sky with a restless tremor.
"Fath…"
No response.
My father was floating into the sky.
I reached out a hand.
My arms were still short, unable to grab the hem of his trousers.
My father grew distant.
At that time—was my father smiling?
"Kagu, ya…"
"-…"
A classroom after school. Kinugawa was peering into my face with a hint of concern.
It seems I became dazed, recalling something that happened almost ten years ago now.
So much so that I missed someone standing right before my eyes.
I look through my space helmet's visor at the clock.
It’s about time to go and pick up the Princess from kindergarten.
"Apologies for wasting your time. Let's go."
"Y-yeah… we should, try to, hurry."
I stand from my chair with a nod.
Kinugawa nods back, relieved by my actions, and follows behind.
"Your, sister… is honest, and, cute… isn't she."
"Yes, so much so that I just want to usher her into my eyes¹."
"That's kind of, sca…ry."
"Your sister is full of energy, an adorably precocious child."
"Mhm… thank, you."
Since coming to know Kinugawa after joining the Regional Revitalisation Club, we frequently go to pick up our little sisters together.
It happened as a natural result of them attending the same kindergarten, with roughly the same end time and route home.
"After picking them up today, you're… stopping by the dorm, first… right?"
"Yes. I believe Uu-chan is making some treats for us."
"Kurama is also, affectionate towards, your sister. I heard… him call her, "Princess"."
"Yes. The way I refer to her spread to Uu-chan before I knew it."
"He's…doting, huh."
"Of course. On that note…"
"Hm…?"
"Uu-chan told me he'd prepare treats for your sister as well."
"Huh…"
"If you don't mind, shall we both head to Hama House?"
"…Thank, you. I'll have to, thank, Kurama…"
Kinugawa gives a faint, happy smile.
Now, there isn't much time before we reach the kindergarten where the Princess awaits.
During the summer vacation of my first year in elementary school, my father disappeared.
He truly loved space, and would often talk about his aim to be an astronaut, about his desire to discuss the existence of non-human lifeforms.
Yet right before my eyes, he was abducted by a UFO.
"It's true…! He was abducted by a UFO. Right before my eyes."
"But you fainted, didn't you, Muneuji-kun? Did you see the UFO?"
"That's… I didn't see it properly. But he really was…!"
"Perhaps he's confused from the shock of losing his father?"
"Children do have a habit of suggesting fantastical things…"
I desperately tried to convince people—that my father had been taken by a light.
But none of the grown-ups around me believed a word I said.
While I was despondent from shock, my mother told me this:
"…The Tale of the Bamboo-Cutter?"
"That's right. Our surname is pronounced² "Kaguya", after all. Maybe papa returned to the moon, like Princess Kaguya."
But of course, it wasn't as if she actually believed that.
She was just being considerate towards me.
Once, when I awoke to relieve myself late at night, I overheard a conversation between my mother and grandmother.
"You should forget about that man already. He probably left you for another woman—"
"But, he… I still…"
"Muneuji's mental health should take priority. You are a mother. Act like one."
"…"
My mother was also hurting. Of course she was.
That's why I decided not to talk about my father openly anymore.
It was Uu-chan who comforted me then.
"Muu-chan, here ya go!"
"These are… chocolates?"
"Yep, the first ones I've ever made. I wanted you to be the first to have them."
"Thank you…"
"I'm not gonna tell you to cheer up or anything. But…"
Uu-chan fixed his eyes on me with a sincere look, and—
"No matter what happens, I believe you, Muu-chan."
My decision was made.
Proof that my father was abducted; where my father was; I would go out and search for them.
If being open about it would worry my mother, then I'd do it in secret. But, I'd definitely…
¹Muneuji says "目に迎え入れたい", likely in reference to the expression "目に入れても痛くない", literally being "it won't hurt even if you put them in your eye" which is used to describe cute children
²I chose to add the word "pronounced" to the text since their surname Kaguya (輝矢) is written differently to Princess Kaguya (かぐや), which isn't clear in English (though, it probably doesn't really matter)

[Kiroku SSR] Best Wishes Snap - Color full
Tumblr media
Part 1
Tumblr media
Kiroku: (…I bought the paints, without any issues.)
(Acidic Orange, Sweet Turquoise, Blossoming Pink, and Poisonous Lime.)
(I might have splurged a bit too much. But, today's special…)
Ryui: Kiro.
Kiroku: ! Ryui… kun. And…
Chihiro: Hey hey~♪ Out shopping too, Kirokkuma? You look fired up ♪
Yukikaze: That bag's from the art store. Did you manage to get something nice?
Kiroku: Yes… There were, some paints… I'd wanted for a while. I was just about… to go back, to the dorm.
Ryui: I see, good to hear. We'll join—
(Nah, better check how things are going on-site first, just in case.)
*tapping*
*blip*
Ryui: …Had a feeling.
Hey. Kamina, Natsuyaki. Over here. Kiro, you just wait there a sec.
Kiroku: ??? O-okay…
Yukikaze: What is it? Do you want some paints too, Ryui?
Ryui: No. …Alright, listen closely.
I checked with Toi. Decorating the venue is taking longer than we thought, so they aren't done yet.
Chihiro & Yukikaze: !!
Ryui: We gotta buy time.
Yukikaze: For how long?
Ryui: About an hour.
Chihiro: Okey-dokey! That much is nothing♪
Kiroku: …Ah, um?
Yukikaze: Kiroku. Meeting here must be fate. I want you to teach me some ways to make art.
Kiroku: Huh…
Yukikaze: You taught me about crayons before¹, but I was thinking I'd like to take on some other utensils.
Ryui: Should we head back to that store, then? Oughta be easier to explain with the real deal right there.
Chihiro: Yeah, yeah! May as well buy e~ven more paints while we're there! We'll foot the bill♪
Kiroku: Huh, that'd… make me feel, bad… Plus, getting more… would, be, excessive…
Ryui: What do you mean, excessive? You're always working hard, at least spoil yourself today.
And if you can't, I'll do it for you. C'mon.
Yukikaze: Right, my thoughts exactly.
Chihiro: Then it's decided! Let's goooooo♪
Kiroku: Awa, wa, wa…
Tumblr media
Kiroku: Phew…
(In the end… when I was talking with everyone, I found more colours I wanted, and ended up buying them.)
(And… while looking at the supplies, I noticed some new things. Things that probably, wouldn't have occurred to me alone.)
(…I want to draw.)
(The things I just saw with Kamina-san and the others. The things we talked about. I want to draw… all of them…)
Ryui: …Hey, I got a message. Looks like they're ready.
Chihiro: Ooh! Isn't our timing too perfect!?
Yukikaze: Kiroku. Let's head back now. We won't make any detours this time.
Ryui: Let's go. We'll take the shortest route back to Hama House.
Kiroku: Huh, huuuh…?
Tumblr media
Kiroku: We're, back…
Akuta: Welcome ba~ck! We've been awaiting your arrival~ oh great protagonist~!!
Nanaki: Isn't that more something a villain would say? …Well, it's true that we were waiting for you. Welcome back, Kiroku.
Kiroku: Isotake… Nanamegi?
Toi: Thank you, Ani-sama. And thank you for helping out too, Chii-sama, Yukikaze-san!
Ryui: Of course. We all want to congratulate Kiro too, after all.
Kiroku: …?
Ushio: Come on, shouldn't you get inside already? If you just stand there stupefied people are gonna start leaving offerings at your feet. Y'know, 'cause you're a Buddharupa.
Muneuji: Everyone put their heart and soul into decorating. I hope it's to your liking.
Kiroku: Ah…!
¹Referring to Kiroku's Half Anniversary SR story
Part 2
Tumblr media
Kiroku: A, mazing… the living room is, overflowing, with colour.
Akuta: Feels like we've coloured the whole world, yeah~~!? We actually invited you and Muneuji's little sisters as special guests to help us set up!
Kiroku: Ah… is that, why… you had us, go back to… the art store?
Yukikaze: Yes, it's because we weren't ready yet. I bought time by taking the opportunity to learn about art supplies from you.
Ryui: Let's get this started then. —Shout from the stomach, you lot.
Akuta: But of course!
Toi: Here we go~… one, two!!
Hama Tours: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Kiroku: Th… ank, you, all.
Nanaki: Happy birthday, Kiroku. I got you some hand cream as your present.
You use your hands pretty often, y'know? So you gotta take care of 'em.
I'll keep looking forward to seeing what works of art you make with them from now on. Let's have fun with it. Together.
Kiroku: Y, eah…
Ryui: I got you an amulet. It's to keep any kind of misfortune or sorrow away from you. Toi put a prayer on it, too.
Toi: Let's stay close as always, Kiro-chan!
Kiroku: Of… course. We'll always, be friends.
Chihiro: Chii got you a TuRyStA handkerchief towel♪ Here ya go!
Kiroku: It's, so… cute. Stakichi and, Turysuke, are… holding, hands.
Chihiro: Right, right? Let's all join together like that and hype up Hama-T♪
Kiroku: …Right. I'll do, my best.
Akuta: And now, entering with a bang, created by Kuram-iron U-chef-io¹! And produced by Isotake Akuta—
The "Avant-Garde Hue ☆ Spraying Colour with No Limits is a Dream, Right? Cake is an Explosion! Your Eyes will be Stuffed Too~ Hurry Up and Bon Appetit!" Cake~!
Ushio: Seriously, you can tell an idiot came up with that one.
Muneuji: It's a wonderful name bursting with energy and spirit.
Kiroku: …It's a, colourful, cake.
Nanaki: It was made with your art in mind.
Akuta: But but, that's not all there is to it, y'hear?
Why don'tcha cut it? It's got a surprise that'll make you go WOAH, so take a gamble².
Ryui: Don't you mean "take a gander"? Why the fuck would it be a gamble?
Kiroku: Ah… small, cookies… and, chocolates, came, out… Even, the inside, is colourful.
Muneuji: Incidentally, the treats inside were also made by Uu-chan.
Ushio: I mean, I'd just LOVE to meet the kind of person who'd go this far only to put store bought items inside.
Akuta: Wahooo!! I already knew, but seeing it now it looks good at hell!!! Hey, hey, can I dig in yet!?
Kiroku: …Mhm. I'll cut it, now.
Akuta: Thankies!
Nanaki: Hey, just what are you making our protagonist do? Kiroku, you don't have to spoil him.
Kiroku: It's what, I always do, so… Here, Nanamegi… your piece. I'll also cut, pieces for the others—
Nanaki: …What am I gonna do with you.
Akuta: Nom nom. Aaaaa~h, sooooo good… your cakes sure are great, Ushio! The BEST!!
Tumblr media
Renga: Oh, looks like the parchy’s in full swing!
Kiroku: Nishizono, san… welcome, back. Good job… with, work, today.
Renga: Heh, I'm used to 4 A.M. photo shoots by now. I'm a celebrity that can wake up early.
Ah, but enough about that. I brought a present for you!
I really had no idea what to get for your "random present", but—
As fellow members of the origami club, I got you this!
*rustle*
Kiroku: Woah… it's so… hea, vy.
Renga: It's the "Aim High! Origami Master Guide Book", along with a set of a hundred origami papers I chose myself. It's a special edition with gold, silver, and even sparkling aurora versions!
Happy birthday. Let's make it a good year.
Kiroku: Y, es. Thank you… very, much.
*flip*
Kiroku: Ah… this book, is amazing… It's got, all sorts of, designs.
…I wonder, how you make, this one…?
Renga: Oh! Wanna try it out now? Even if it's a bit difficult, we can probably do it if we put our heads together!
Kiroku: Yeah… …Um, first… halve it. Then…
*flip*
Renga: Fold a third of it, right? Then open it up, and…
*flip*
Renga & Kiroku: ……
Toi: Oh, what are Kiro-chan and Renga-san doing?
Ryui: Origami?
Ushio: Wooow, when'd this place become a kindergarten?
Akuta: WOAH! Is that a single-headed Cerberus!? That's our Great Master for ya, you can even make something like this out of origami!
Nanaki: No, if it's only got one head then it's just a regular dog.
Yukikaze: Looks like this book has instructions for a lot of animals. Cats, chickens, kappa…
Alright, I'll fold a kappa.
Akuta: Hell yeah, I'll join in too!
Muneuji: I shall as well, then.
Chihiro: Don't forget Chii~!
Toi: I'm sure even this difficult looking owl will be a cinch for you to fold, Ani-sama.
Ryui: I'll have it done in seconds.
Tumblr media
Chihiro: …Owo? All I'm doing is straight folds, but it's so hard…!
Ushio: Fold here… huh? The hell's happened to it.
Nanaki: I mean, what'd you expect when you decided to jump straight into making something as difficult as a Buddharupa?
Ushio: How about you shut up and fold a panda or something?
Akuta: Ma~n… this stuff is too complicated… Origami's as deep as the universe, huh, Kiroku?
Kiroku: Y, eah… that's what, makes it fun…
Akuta: I know, right!
Tumblr media
*flip*
Everyone Working Earnestly: ……
*flip*
Tumblr media
Completely Silent Living Room: ………
*door opens*
Momiji: Sorry I'm late! I brought some refreshments as an apolo—
Wait, what's with the silence?
Sakujiro: Oh my. They appear to be holding a Hama Tours Origami Convention.
Renga: Huh!?
W-when'd we get so caught up in it…!
Kiroku: Wow… we made, so, many. You can't… see the table.
Momiji: They're all lovely, though. You'd be able to hold an exhibition with them!
Kiroku: Yeah… I want to show… my sister, too.
Momiji: Yeah, I'm sure she'd love that. Want to take some home, then? Just let me know if you need a bag or anything!
Kiroku: …Thank, you. Chief…
(There's so much colourful origami, that I can't hold them all.)
(So many colours, spreading into, my world.)
(…It's, beautiful.)
¹Reference to the cooking show "Iron Chef". Technically he calls him "Kurama Iron • Ushio Chef", but the sounds go into each other well enough that pun-ing them felt appropriate (and I'm half certain that was the intention anyway)
²Akuta tells Kiroku to “ゴローとジロー” (gorō to jirō) when he means to say “御覧じろ” (gorōjiro). “Gorō” and “Jirō” are also names, and “to” is a connector like “and”, so after Ryui corrects him he goes “Who the fuck are Gorō and Jirō?”. I wasn't able to think of any names that could be used similarly in English, so I took it a different direction!

[Liguang SR] R1ze on the Stage - Virtue Lies in Your Own Hands
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Liguang: (The hospitality work from the other day… sure enough, moving the flower word art to a later date was no good. I'd like to keep hold of the tourists we can reliably draw in.)
…We'll have to increase the number of flower word art instructors, I suppose.
(It would be nice if there were some promising personnel somewhere…)
Sojun: Boss.
If you are looking for someone who has the talent to teach flower word art—how about the Day Team's Kinugawa Kiroku?
Liguang: Kinugawa?
Sojun: I have obtained one of his drawings. Here.
Liguang: …Not bad.
Tumblr media
Liguang: Apologies for the abrupt call.
Kiroku: Ah, no, um…
Wh… why, do you, need… m-me, Lu-san?
Liguang: I won't beat around the bush. Are you interested in teaching flower word art?
Kiroku: …Flower, word… art…?
Liguang: I hear you specialise in analogue art. Based on your skilled handling of the materials, I want to hire you as a flower word art instructor.
Kiroku: (Did Lu-san just, compliment me…?)
Um… thank, you very, much…
I do… enjoy, drawing… but… I've never… done, flower word art… before.
…Ah… but, it might be nice, to try?
Liguang: Giving it a go yourself is the quickest way, then. Let's get going.
Kiroku: …Huh? G-going… to… where?
Liguang: You'll understand once we get there. Sojun.
Sojun: Right away.
Kiroku: !?
(Where was he…)
Liguang: Don't be so panicked. Just stay calm and we'll arrive soon.
Kiroku: (This is, kidnapping…! Where are they taking me…!?)
Part 2
Tumblr media
Kiroku: (This is, Lu-san's house… It's huge. Excessively huge.)
Liguang: Let's get right to it. I've already seen what you can do. Could you learn flower word art, and become a valuable asset of Ward 4?
Kiroku: …Me, a… valuable asset?
Liguang: That's right. I have an example here. Start by trying to do it the way you want to.
*clack*
Kiroku: Doing, that… so suddenly…
Liguang: Just try.
Kiroku: Uu… o-okay…
Tumblr media
*footsteps*
Linxing: Hey heeey! Is this the guy you want as an instructor?
Kiroku: -…!
Liguang: Don't run in the hallway, Linxing. And don't yell either. You'll frighten Kinugawa.
Linxing: So your name is Kinugawa-kun~! I'm Linxing! His younger sister, as you can probably tell!
Kiroku: Y… y-yeah.
Liguang: Look. I had Kinugawa try some flower word art.
Linxing: Woah! You made this, Kinugawa-kun? Your sense of style is insane!
Kiroku: !
(I-I got complimented again…!)
Th… thank, you… very much.
Linxing: But, there's a secret technique to making it e~ven better. It's very valuable, but I'll teach it to you!
Tumblr media
Kiroku: …Um, like this…?
Linxing: Wow, amazing! You did it~! Really well, too!
Kiroku: …Um, th-thank…
Linxing: Okay okay, do this next!
Tumblr media
Liguang: (He's even keeping up with Linxing's nonsensical teaching methods… he's exceeded my expectations.)
Linxing: You know, you're good at art, and tall and cool to boot, so I bet you're pretty popular, right~?
Kiroku: Huh… …no… I'm not, at, all.
Linxing: Wha~t!? They must have no taste! I wouldn't be able to miss you if I was your classmate~!
Kiroku: That…
Linxing: Ah~ but I guess it'd be boring if absolutely everybody noticed your charm…
I'm sure it'd be more fun if I could keep your good points all to myself. Y'know?
Kiroku: Ah, um…
Liguang: Kinugawa.
Kiroku: ! Y-yes!
Liguang: Just so you're aware, she does have a boyfriend.
Kiroku: Ah…
(Lu-san is, misunderstanding… what do I do?)
Linxing: Come o~n! You're way too overprotective! I was just complimenting him, Kinugawa-kun definitely wasn't thinking of it like that either~!
Liguang: Don't be absurd. You understand far too little of men's hearts. I'm saying this for Kinugawa's sake.
Linxing: Alright, alright. Jee~z. I'm sorry, okay Onii-chan? Now, let's keep going, Kinugawa-kun!
Kiroku: …Okay.

Long time no see! I'm posting this primarily to say that I'm not dead, and that I Have been working on stuff, I just hadn't been able to finalise anything for a while due to holiday and school busyness ( ̄︿ ̄)
I've made a small update to the Day2 sheet (winter lines, remaining pair lines, a handful of travel reports, and a very, VERY important glossary update), and I'll make a proper update post to put in the tags once I've got a few more up! I haven't made progress on my main story tl since it's hard to focus on it knowing how much other stuff hasn't been done at all, but I do intend to clean up what's already there a bit within the next few days <( ̄︶ ̄)> and then there's also a couple other things that should be up before the end of next week, hopefully sooner!
Thank you for your patience, and have a lovely Valentine's Day ❤️

Miscellaneous Day2 Content (In Progress)
This is a constantly updating sheet that is planned to eventually have every voiceline, study trip report, character talk, and any other short content relating to Day2! (Sakujiro included)
As of 14/02/25, the sheet has:
Every default solo homepage line
Every paired homepage line
A small number of travel reports
Profile and resume translations
Glossary entries for their clubs and a PatiBato arc
It will be updated on a fairly casual basis, and I'll be posting updates for particular milestones - next up is finishing all the travel reports (^∇^)ノ♪

[Kiroku SR] Qualia of Colours - Take a Breather, and Down Your Drink
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nanaki: Sigh… finally settled.
Had to go all over to get my equipment set up. A lot happened, but now I can relax and drink some coffee.
Yeah, that's good…
*door opens*
Tumblr media
Kiroku: …!
Sorry for, intruding… on, your break.
Nanaki: Wait, Kiroku. How about drinking some coffee?
Kiroku: I-is… that, okay?
Nanaki: Of course. Hold on a moment.
This is the first coffee I've brewed since moving here, so I was thinking that if someone came, we should drink together.
Your cup is…
Tumblr media
Kiroku: Ah, um. Here…
*pouring*
Nanaki: Sugar and milk?
Kiroku: Ah… yes, please. That's my… preference.
Do you… have it black, Nanamegi?
Nanaki: Yeah. I used to drink sweet stuff like cafe au lait, but at some point I stopped adding things.
Kiroku: That's… so grown-up.
Nanaki: Right, here you go.
Kiroku: Thanks for, the coffee.
…Tasty.
Nanaki: Right? Fits the mood perfectly.
Kiroku: (…I never thought there'd come a day where I drink coffee like this with someone outside my family…)
…I, know. As thanks for… the, coffee…
…Do you, want one?
Nanaki: This is… a cookie tin?
Kiroku: Yeah. It has… really, tasty cookies. Lots of, different flavours… I think, they might, suit the coffee.
Nanaki: …
Hey, Kiroku—
Kiroku: Wh…what?
(Did I… do something unnecessary? Does Nanamegi not like sweet things?)
(Or is it… weird, that it's coming from me…?)
Part 2
Kiroku: ……-
Nanaki: This cookie tin is pretty cute.
Kiroku: …!
Nanaki: Not just that, but the cookies inside look detailed too.
I can have one? Thanks.
…Yeah. That's good. It's so crisp I feel like I could eat a whole bunch.
Kiroku: …Rea, lly? That's, good.
Nanaki: I've been thinking this for a while, but you're good at finding cute things like this, aren't you?
You really do have good taste.
Kiroku: …Thank, you…
I, also, think… your music, is, really… good…
Nanaki: Huh?
Kiroku: …- Sorry if I, said something… weird.
But, you… complimented me, so. I also…
Nanaki: Don't panic, there's no need to apologise. I think I get what you want to say.
Kiroku: … …
(It's, not just Nanamegi. Nobody in the Hama House, denies or, rejects me—)
Akuta: DORM EXPEDITION! COM! PLEEETE! This place really is super hype—
Tumblr media
Akuta: Geh!? It reeks of coffee!?
Kiroku: Ah… Isotake, do you… not like coffee? There's also, hot chocolate… if that works.
Akuta: Yaaay! Gimme! Gimme that chocolate!
Kiroku: …Got, it. I'll make some, now…
And, Nanamegi… i-if you want… you can have some, any time.
Nanaki: Thanks. Sugar intake is also important when you're working. I'll be sure to take you up on that.
Kiroku: …Yeah.
*pouring*
Akuta: Oooooooooh that smell, that smell! It's the smell of an oasis! Not that I've smelled one of those before.
But man~ I really wanna be a cool guy who can drink coffee someday! Can't become an adult by running away from the things I don't like, you feel me?
Kiroku: …Then… do you, want to, try… my, coffee? I can share, a drop…
*drip*
Kiroku: …How is it?
Akuta: Gulpgulpgulp… puhaaah!
I did it, hell yeah! COM! PLETE! SUC! CESS! Now I've joined the ranks of the adults!
Nanaki: Sure you have. Now try aiming for two drops.
Kiroku: (…It's, lively.)
(I used to, be bad with… situations like this.)
(But. Right now… I'm kind of, enjoying it.)
