posts about BLM no longer being on peoples dashes is so frustrating cause I feel like if you’re following the right people, especially black artists, creatives, activists, etc. then you wouldn’t be having that issue, I’m certainly not. There’s still so much left to be done and the fight is no where near over. So please consider following more black content creators and activists cause trust me when I say, your dash and your world view will be much better for it.

here's your reminder that you shouldn't have to have close proximity to a cause for you to care about it; you shouldn't have to have a gay brother to care about gay rights, you shouldn't have to intimately know a trans person to care about trans rights, and you shouldn't have to have a black bestfriend to care about black lives

i’m having a real issue with all these showrunners who allowed their black actresses to be mistreated in every conceivable way for seasons on end now being like “we hear you and we love you!” where was that love when they were being bullied by your racist fandoms? where was that love when they had to do their own hair and make up on set because you didn’t hire anyone qualified to do hair and make up for black actresses? where was that love when you decided to make their characters supporting characters, and then gave them absolutely no narratives of their own or screentime? it just doesn’t sit well with me.

brushing riots off as senseless violence and refusing to listen to black people and activists about the situation makes you inherently racist actually. presenting yourself as woke or progressive or non-racist while actively talking over and/or ignoring poc is inherently racist. refusing to try to understand why people are reacting the way they are and going into your internet echo chamber of other fake-woke white people,,,,,,,,, like the list goes on & on. if you're not gonna try to listen to black people or understand why people are doing what they're doing, you need to stop pretending you care about black people and black lives
