So it turns out making a reference sheet was a great idea, for once he's actually surprisingly on model?
This supposed to just be a loose freehand sketch to get the hang of drawing his face, but then I got REALLY carried away with some rendering practice after I added some lineart, and I ended up with this instead.
Anyway, this isn't from any specific part of the AU, I just like drawing him pissed off.
Here's an actual turnaround of that design I posted last week, it's still not finished but it's close enough so I'm posting it anyway.
This is specifically for an AU, but I actually wanted to design an 'accurate' Movie!Werehog, so I tweaked it a ton to make it as on-model as possible.
Either way, I've got a decent reference sheet now so I might draw more of this guy. If you'd like to see more then feel free to send me some ideas to sketch.
Decided to work on a design from an AU I'm sort of in the process of picking back up. I was actually supposed to be making a reference sheet but I went and sketched a comparison for now because why not. (Also because ADHD.)
I based the colors on the game textures, so regular Sonic is a bit too yellow here since he's REALLY yellow in-game. I really like the shade of blue (even though it's too dark) but I should tweak the tan at some point. I also figured out a way to render fur and quills that's a LOT faster so I did a test render of that too.
I don't actually need a reference sheet since I'm specifically writing a fic, but I like to draw this guy from time to time, so I wanted to make myself a sheet so I can hopefully stay on-model. I'll probably do an in-depth breakdown of the design when I actually have a reference sheet to share.
By the way, feel free to ask about the AU if you're curious. It'll mostly help me gauge whether or not people are interested in it, but it'll also give me an excuse to infodump.
(And before anyone asks, he does wear gloves in the AU, I just wanted to show what his hands look like without them. And his 'skin' is actually just really short fur.)
