okay but murderbot’s internal narrative about its PreservationAux clients is actually so so so cute

aside from gurathin who it does think about a lot but those thoughts are usually “i’m so much better than gurathin because i process things faster, i don’t understand why he doesn’t think these guys like him when they clearly like him a whole bunch and i don’t know why they like him at all”, the three humans it thinks about the most are mensah, ratthi and pin lee, and it has overwhelmingly positive thoughts on the three of them aside from the very obvious annoyance that all three are good natured and keep getting themselves into Situations™️

also the apple TV show did my wife pin lee and my husband ratthi so dirty. it showed none of pin lee’s other assorted skills (like how she and baradhwaj were the ones who removed the combat override module, or all her sick ass hobbyist hacker skills or explained why she was the one who went with gurathin to launch the beacon) and reduced ratthi to comedic relief

i made the critical mistake of watching cloho with my dad, who is the worst person to watch anything with ever because he has the capacity for exactly one (1) episode before he wants to go watch some form of sport while he reads and he has to be in the correct mood to want to watch an episode at all

One of my favorite jokes from the first episode is Maxwell going you have to respect wealwell! And just Daisuke’s sincere “I can’t” like not even I won’t he simply can’t it would go against everything in his nature to respect this man. The way Zach believers it too like with a real tragedy behind it he i st really can’t. I don’t know but this line killed me 😭

based on the one former PhD student i’ve actually met (she didn’t drop out, she’s just got a doctorate now) and how stressful, anxiety inducing, and excruciating she said completing her PhD was (she did her PhD in virology btw, for those who are interested), i can absolutely see maxwell desperately needing to direct his stress somewhere and that somewhere is a dinky, dimly lit basement, beating the shit out of 18, 19, 20 year old brand new undergrads while crying and screaming through gritted teeth about failed experiments or research he’s struggling to find or what have you

During Maxwell’s conversation with his father, there was an implication he was still in university, because his father mentioned going to his school to find out about his “rowdy behavior” real time. Maxwell is 29. So there are three options. The first, university just works different here. The second, Maxwell went to school later in life. The third, Maxwell is a haggard PhD student who is still getting into drunken undergrad style fistfights. I choose to believe the third.
