b l u e j a y. do you like bagels?
Bluejay reads the ask, then rereads it multiple times to make sure he's understanding what is being asked to him.
Bagels...
He clears his throat and answers. "I enjoy bagels, albeit toasted and with cream cheese. Although, why is my name said like this..?" Bluejay is at a loss as to why this was sent and who would do such a thing.

oh yes, we can speak to crow and dove. that is, if our messages aren't intercepted. but if you have a specific message you would like one of us to deliver, i would be happy to oblige!
Bluejay catches the ask while flying and sighs as he reads it, landing to respond. “Oh, that’s such a shame, we just caught a different ask that was to two of them. But if you could, please ask them to come back. Raven wishes to talk to Crow and Dove fled before we could properly talk.”

Hey Dove, Crow, how have things been since- running from Jay?
Bluejay catches the ask before it reaches the two you intended to speak with. Jay stretches his wings and murmurs “You lot are so intent on speaking to Crow and Dove, it’s almost as if you find them more interesting, than the four of us. One could be hurt or offended by such a thing. Enjoy talking to the voices beyond the fourth wall, Sparrow. I’m going for a flight.” With that, Bluejay leaves the room.
Raven stands and saunters out of the room, a small smirk appearing on his face as he pauses by the door to answer your question “Please do tell them to stop by the castle? I need to have a little chat with Crow.” The other vanishes to places unknown.
Angel sighs and murmurs “This has been fun, but I do have some things to do - in the… Transition from Sparrow’s leadership to Jay and Sparrow’s leadership, some key people unfortunately quit, one of them being the head trainer for the new recruits at JR, which I’ve been filling in since, and a new class that I’m teaching is just due to start.” The monochromatic skeleton gets up from the couch he and Raven had been sitting on and leaves the office.
Sparrow looks hopefully at you, glancing around for a couple of moments before answering quietly “I… Send my regards to Dove, if you can, please? I… I miss him.” Sparrow appears to be alone for the time being. Does anyone else have questions? He may talk a bit more now. Sparrow shuffles a few pieces of paper on his desk, writing something down. He’s glad to be alone in his office.

Explanation
fandom: alternate timeline of Dreamswap by kai
characters: Waning Crescent, Comet
warnings: cursing, mention of murder and death,
word count: 2,112
Summary: Waning Crescent and Comet talk about what’s upset WC so much.
“So, are you going to tell me what in the fuck happened on your last mission that freaked you out so badly?” Comet asked after he sat down in his boyfriend’s lap, nuzzling into the other’s chest a little bit. “It’s going to bother me until you spill, and you know it helps to tell someone else about whatever is going on, so that we can figure out how to deal with it.”
Waning Crescent swallowed hard for a moment, fidgeting with his hands for a couple of moments, rolling the pen that he’d been using to sign paperwork for a couple of moments before saying “I had gotten a report that Full, Half and New Moon was in Underswap 7651. I went to check out the report alone, as that particular timeline has been under the protection of JR for decades, and New Moon at least should have remembered that, as I’ve captured him there twice. Although the tacos there are some of the best in the multiverse, so perhaps… That’s why they were there.”
“Uh-huh. Having a run-in with those three - even if they did manage to escape you - shouldn’t have scared you that much though. You’re still all wound up by what happened…” Comet pointed out, wrapping his arms around the other’s waist, wishing he could pet the other’s wings, but the other’s wings were currently intangible so that he could sit on the chair without needing to be on the edge of the seat.
“.... How much do you know about Full Moon? Like his past, before you two met?” Waning Crescent responded - he wasn’t deflecting. He was going to explain - he just wanted to know if Comet had known that Angel had been bonded with a determined spirit and hadn’t told him.
“That his timeline was that endless void that you found the both of us in. He was grieving about something, but he never told me what. Apart from that, I know nothing more about his past then you do… Why? Did he do something weird again?” Comet responded, frowning a little and waiting for Crescent to get to his point.
“Ah… I… I accidentally killed Full Moon. He jumped in front of my claymore as I intended to pin down New Moon and I couldn’t get my blade away in time, and… My blade pierced his soul and he died.” Waning Crescent explained. His voice failing him for a couple of moments “And then a determined spirit - one who Full Moon had apparently had absorbed their soul, appeared and offered their soul to New Moon, who… Who took it. A strange, purple button appeared in front of New Moon and he… He resurrected Full Moon in front of me. Full moon had just finished dusting, and he… He’d come back. New Moon started to laugh and I… I fled the battlefield.”
Comet was still for a very long time, or so it felt to Waning Crescent, before he cleared his nonexistent throat, saying quietly, his voice a little shaky “Okay… So New Moon can resurrect people and has a Determined Human’s soul backing his power now. That… That could be bad, but we’ve dealt with monsters who have absorbed multiple human souls, and -”
“New Moon is not a monster. Neither am I. We have the physical appearance of skeleton monsters, but that’s as far as the similarities go. You’ve seen the shape and color of my soul, Comet. One of the constants in this multiverse is the shape and color - or lack thereof - for monster and human souls. New Moon and I… We were created by the previous guardian of emotions, as she… They? Were dying. She summoned the both of us. We are the… We are positive and negative emotions - and the magical power behind them, given form and substance. I… I may be able to show you my true form, if you promise not to freak out on me.” Waning Crescent explains quietly, fidgeting more intensely with the pen in his hands. It was almost impossible to not look at Comet directly, given that the other was still in his lap, but he was just barely managing it.
"Uhh... Okay? Promise me that like... Your body won't... I don't know... Disintegrate or vanish when you do? Or that you can switch back?" Comet responded after a moment's hesitation, trying to process what his beloved was saying. Waning Crescent had said that he was the guardian of positivity, but he hadn't really known what the other meant. None of them did - though they all felt the uplifting effects of his aura.
"No, my body won't disintegrate - but as my true form contains the essence of my soul as well as all of my magic, my physical body will go limp and even grow cold and void of my magic, if I leave it for too long. Though that shouldn't be necessary. You may want to get off of my lap, as my physical form will be unable to hold you close during that time." Waning Crescent explained quietly.
“I… Okay then. Thank you for the warning.” Comet responded, part of him wondering if he should maybe convince the other not to do this. This felt… A little bit strange and like the other was making an impulsive and probably bad decision, and he was processing everything else that Waning Crescent had told him.  Comet got up, taking a couple of steps back. “So… You can… You can show me your true form, if you want to.”
Waning Crescent nodded, letting his eye lights fuzz out as he gathered all of his magic into the core of his body, first his soul taking shape, before he pushed himself further from the body. It had been quite some time since he’d done this last, and it was a bit of a struggle at first - but eventually, he was in his original form - a yellow-colored ball of condensed positivity magic and awareness. He floats over to Comet, gently coming to rest on one of the other’s shoulders, letting out a soft trill. He pulses a bit of magic through Comet before returning to his skeletal form “So as you can see… It’s not that a powerful monster is in possession of a determination soul… But…”
“A… A Guardian has absorbed a human soul. And I’m guessing that neither of you have ever done that before - and if the previous guardian did, she or they didn’t ever write down whatever the fuck happened, and if it’s possible to undo it without causing damage, since the two of you still have that weird destiny bond thing that makes it impossible to kill New Moon without it also killing you.” Comet finished, frowning a little bit.
He had known that there was something odd about boss - but he hadn’t realized just how unique Waning Crescent was - were there other Guardians in the multiverse, perhaps hidden in obscure timelines? Protecting… Who knew what? “But… You mentioned New Moon being in possession of a Button - considering the fact that when he used it, that world didn’t Reset, he doesn’t have the ability to Reset a timeline - thank the fucking stars, as that could cause a shit load of trouble. He used it to heal Full Moon - which will be annoying to try to capture them, since with a press of a button, they’ll be back to full health again…”
“I… You’re right, of course. I probably just overreacted. They have a powerful healing ability that could potentially be a great hindrance, depending on if New Moon can resurrect dead criminals and decides to try to do so in order to create chaos… It’s unlikely, though. He mostly just flees and hides with his companions.” Waning Crescent mused “And no, there are no records of a Guardian absorbing a human soul, not to my knowledge. The previous guardian of the… Of the emotive balance was contemptuous and very wary of mortals - chasing away any who attempted to live near them. They were periodically attacked for the power they held, and was eventually struck down in a battle - though they were able to kill their attacker, before they created us.”
“Huh.” Comet remarked - he’s pretty sure that Waning Crescent is leaving out a few key details, but he’s not going to push for more than the other is willing to share. He already knows far more about the true past of the both of them than… Probably anyone else in existence, with the possible exceptions of Full and Half moon, depending on how much, if anything, New Moon had told them of his past. “So, what’s the plan with the three assholes?”
“I’ll update the orders for the undercover operatives. To watch out for any on The List, but for them to not approach New, Full, or Half moon under any circumstances, and if they are in a timeline for more than a couple of hours, to report directly to me, so that I… I can observe them directly.” Waning Crescent decided, nodding a little to himself firmly, before he asked “Does that sound reasonable to you? We can hope that his new powers only extend to that resurrection ability, but until we know for certain…”
“It’s best to limit the potential damage that New Moon could do, if at all possible. It’s going to take time to spread those new orders throughout our network, but I’ll be sure to send it to the regional heads myself.” Comet responded, turning partially, intending to leave.
“Absolutely not - for one thing, I need to make sure to write down and encode those orders… And another thing is, don’t think I haven’t forgotten that your appointment with Healer Ara regarding your pregnancy isn’t today in less than an hour and a half.”
“Oh come oooon! We’ve known that I’ve been pregnant for what? Two weeks now, at most? I’ll be fine.” Comet huffed, pouting a little that he’d been caught out so easily. He was excited to be carrying a soulling… But all of the information about what he could and what he wasn’t going to be able to do as the pregnancy continued was more than a little daunting “Hey… So uh… Since you’re not… Not a monster or a human, do you think that will affect the development of our soulling?”
“I… I don’t know. It’s one of the things that we will need to discuss with Dr. Ara and their Obstetrics team.” Waning Crescent answered honestly. He was worried about how the soulling would continue to grow - and he knew that Comet was as well.
“Yeah… Still not sure how I’m pregnant in the first place… ‘s not as if I have a soul…” Comet muttered, feeling more than a little self-conscious. He’d kind of assumed that he’d be unable to have kids that way, because of his condition.
“But the deep scans showed that you did have one at one point… And again, that’s some of the things that will be gone over in that appointment today. Do you remember that Dr. Ara took a sample of your magic to have it tested?” Waning Crescent prodded gently.
“I… Yeah, you’re right. I’m just… I’m so nervous about all of this - th-though I am excited as well. We… We’re going to have an ankle biter all our own. Look out multiverse, because our kid is going to be one hell of a force of nature. That much I can feel.” Comet answered back, rallying himself after a moment, his eye lights a pair of stars - one yellow, the other blue and purple, a grin appearing on his face.
“Of that, I have no doubt.” Waning Crescent responded with a fond smile appearing on his face, hugging his beloved boyfriend in close, a soft purr rumbling in his chest. “Now… Help me word the updated orders correctly?”
“Eh… You know that sort of thing is not my strong suit. Point me at an AU and tell me who to stab? I’m good. Tell me who to threaten and scare? I’m good. But the whole… Leading a secret service and army with a silver tongue? That’s all you, boss.” Comet grumbled, though he did follow the other back to the desk, claiming Waning Crescent’s lap as soon as the other sat down. It was nice to be close to the other like this, and he hoped that the obstetrics appointment would answer a lot of the questions that both of them had. This new healing ability of New Moon’s could be a pain in the ass… But shouldn’t prove to be too much of a danger...  Right?

Angel- how much have you told Blue Jay about what you remember about the powers of OVERWRITE?
Angel fidgets a little bit as he looks around, trying to figure out how to respond to the other’s words, answering after a moment “I’ve told him as much as I’m able to explain... But... Uhm... Just what is it that you are driving at? Why do you want to know this?”

“Hello everyone, I just wanted to show you my new trench coat. My mates surprised me with it a short time ago, and I just had to get a picture of me in it. What do you think, dear voices?” Bluejay called out, smiling cheerfully.

Beware the man who speaks in hands who holds the other half of OVERWRITE.
Butterfly sighs as zey stop this anon. "Now, now. Who said that the other half ever existed in this timeline~? Of course I'm not saying that he has been eliminated or anything but making these baseless assumptions will get you nowhere if you're looking for answers" Zey giggle and pick up the anon. "Now. Hopefully, you'll take time to think of your questions next time you send an ask~"

Hey Sparrow- I can tell that you are suffering a lot- Bluejay and the others can be... rather hard on you then? I feel, really bad that... things are not going to well for you. Do you regret stabbing Angel- which precipitated Nightmare becoming Bluejay? If you could go back in time- would you stop yourself from doing that?
Sparrow freezes for a moment as he listens to the grey-face speak, fidgeting with his hands for a moment, the pen in his hand in pieces before he turns it back into a pen again, focused on the stack of paperwork in front of him. The door to his office is open a crack. “I do regret  killing Angel, but that is because I… I have realized that my initial assumption of him being a dangerous criminal was incorrect. I endeavor to protect innocents, not harm them. While I do admit that the… Initial adjustment after the three of them came to… Help me in running Justice Reigns was a little bit rough, all changes in governance with organizations as large and influential as JR is… difficult, particularly if the change is… Is abrupt. They are no harder on me, than I am on myself. But of course I would go back and prevent myself from making such a terrible mistake… Although if I could alter time, that is not the only mistake I would alter.”The positive guardian’s eye lights vanish for a couple of moments as he seems to be lost in thought* “There are… Quite a few mistakes I have made in my life, that if I had the ability to do so, I would correct… But then, I would go back to… I would go back quite far in my life, and the mistakes I’ve made after… After a few key ones when I was quite young might not have been made.” He fidgets again, clearly uncomfortable and not entirely willing to go into what early mistake he would wish to correct, had he the chance to do so.

A Bit Of Good Luck?
This is the second part of Outcome: Lunar Eclipse. I do hope that you enjoy it :D
Part one here
word count: 1,402
warnings: possessiveness
New Moon couldn't stop laughing as Waning Crescent fled from him, the earnest fear in the other's gaze and aura something that he hadn't thought that he'd ever revel in... But then the bastard had tried to kill his precious Full Moon and that was - but no. The Determined Shade had given up their half a soul to him so that the two of them together could somehow bring the other back.
Full moon staggered up to his feet, looking groggy, the other's aura filled with confusion and distress "I... W-What the fuck happened? The... The last thing I remembered was that bastard plunging his... H-His swo-" No... The other, though he was stained in his vital magic and his clothes were filled with his dust was more like an... Angel than anything else in New Moon's opinion.
But his precious Angel was frightened and distressed. The laughter abruptly stopped as New Moon moved closer to one of his beloved, pulling him in closer "Shh... My lovely Angel, that bastard did kill you... But-" He tilts his head as the furious determined shade who cared very much for Angel (everyone should care for his Angel, the other was striking and lovely and so, so good) had wanted him to play it off as a nightmare. As if that would work. "But the human who was blended with your soul said that if I took their soul, I would be able to save you... So I did and it succeeded! I've never seen a button like that before. Do you know what -"
Half Moon sputtered - having just stumbled through one of his glitching portals "W-What do you mean that Ç͈̖͇r̤̻̪o̩̱s҉͓̯͇͍̪ͅs̴ died? W-how is he alive then? No... No, that's not... Please don't make that kind of a joke, ̧̫̱N̨̗̬i̧̖g̥̰̜͖̺͎h̦̬̼̠͝ͅt͠m̘̟̺̰͇͖̝͜a̼̜̫̫ͅr̫ḛ̬̯͙ it's... It's not funny..." Tears were starting to flow down his face and with his black bones and almost croaking voice as he spoke, the glitched skeleton reminded New Moon rather strongly of a... Raven.
Yes, his Raven, his Angel. But how to protect them? First thing's first, he had to learn what his precious Angel knew of Overwrite. Could he simply bring back the dead, or was there more that he could do with the power that the determined shade had given him - and why hadn't Angel used them? Were there drawbacks, or was Angel unable to use them because he was a monster, and New Moon was neither Monster nor Human? A question to consider and to try to ponder over, though not at this exact moment in time. For one thing, both of his beloveds were in a considerable amount of distress… And he was just barely keeping himself together as it was.  "Waning Crescent killed him - I suspect that he was trying to strike a disabling blow on me, and our precious Angel charged in to protect me, unable to get his sword up in time and was... Was killed. But he's better now, I fixed it." New Moon explained, teleporting over to Angel and holding him close. He also wanted to hug his Raven, but he knew that the other was touch-adverse, even when initiating.
Raven let out a quiet, distressed cry before teleporting over to the two of them, wrapping his strings tightly around the both of them, reaching out shakily and grabbing one of Angel's and New Moon's hands, holding them close as tears slid down his face "I-I... Oh, stars y-you're co-covered in m-magic and blood and-" He stuttered at Angel as he looked the other over more closely, his eye lights shrinking in horror and pain.
Full Moon’s shirt was torn, exactly in the place where Waning Crescent had dealt the fatal blow. But the other's bones were whole and undamaged - there wasn't so much as a scratch... Though the dust that had been Full Moon’s body, however briefly, had remained, for some reason. As had the vital magic that had stained his clothes. The monochromatic skeleton had stared down at the spot, a dark expression appearing on his face as he growls in frustration "I fucking hate him so much! What gives that bastard the right to hunt us across the multiverse? We've never done anything to deserve the persecution he's called down on our heads! I wish there was something we could do to get him to stop.”
“With all the people he has working for him, along with all of the protections that AU that he’s taken over for stars know how long? It would be… Beyond stupid to try to go against him. Let… L-Let’s head back home. C-Core tried to tell m-me that something awful had happened. I-I just wished that I’d been able to find you two faster… I m-might have b-been able to p-prevent Full M-Moon from dying.” Half Moon stuttered, a miserable expression appearing on his face as he presses a little bit closer to his beloved boyfriends. “E-Even though he’s back somehow.” His glitches were starting to get worse, and New Moon was concerned that the other might send himself into a Crash.
"You know... I think it would probably be a good idea if we headed home. Me resurrecting our lovely Angel startled the hell out of that bastard, but I'm not sure if he fled to go tend to his wounded pride, or ran off to get more reinforcements. It was the two of us against him - he didn't have that painted Comet of his shadowing him." New Moon suggested quietly, a small smile appearing on his face as he tried to calm down. There wasn’t much that they could do - at least not at the moment, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to let either of his darlings put themselves into danger trying to get revenge on Waning Crescent. For now, they should do as they’ve always done… Fight just enough to flee- but with this… Overwrite, New Moon could feel it down to his very bones that the game had changed. The balance of power had shifted in their - his - favor.
“Yeah…” Full Moon mumbled, clinging more tightly to New Moon and squeezing Half Moon’s hand tightly, shaking a little bit. He didn’t want to let either of them go… Nor particularly felt like moving, but he didn’t want to get attacked again.
Half Moon shifts a little closer to the both of them, his glitches flickering wildly “I… I don’t think I can manage to open a portal right now, I-I’m sorry… M-Most of my concentration is… I-Is focused on not c-crashing right now, as-as selfish as that is as I wasn’t the one who was murdered!” His strings wrap more around the both of them, and his eye lights flicker around the empty and half-destroyed street the three of them were standing in, trying desperately not to panic.
Although he’d need to figure out how far. Waning Crescent had an LV of over twenty and had consumed all but two of The Apples after all. New Moon would need to learn all about Overwrite that his Angel knew and experiment with the new ability, to see what it could do to protect the three of them. New Moon opens a portal for the three of them to use, gesturing for his boyfriends to go through first. “This should take us directly to our bedroom in the omega timeline… That way we can all hold one another - or stay comfy and close but not quite touching - as we all feel comfortable with? Does that sound good to you two? We also did manage to get all of the groceries we came to this timeline to get. He didn’t attack us in the middle of a grocery store… Again.” New Moon explained, “I’ll teleport us through, as I have a feeling that neither of you want to move.”
Both his Angel and Raven nod in agreement, and press closer still. With a brief moment of concentration - and far less effort than it normally took for him to teleport the three of them to their home in the Omega Timeline… Full and Half Moon immediately collapse onto the bed, clinging to each other and him as they start to sob…
Steely resolve fills New Moon. Somehow, some way, he will make sure that the three of them will be safe. Neither of them will ever be taken away from him ever again.

angel, do you ever worry about jay?
Angel blinks a little at you, tilting his head and answering after a moment “No… Not really. Why should I be worried about him? He’s loving and caring to both me and Raven… We’re in the process of convincing Sparrow to calm the fuck down, but given how stubborn he is, it’s probably going to take a while. Jay’s great!… Why do you ask?”

sparrow, how could you? https://youtu.be/wWqU1ynYSrM jay: prince humperdink sparrow: buttercup dove: wesley me, tormenting sparrow: old lady grandson: readers grandfather: mod butterfly
Sparrow freezes up for a moment as he watches the video clip that's been sent to him, his eye lights vanishing for a couple of seconds as he watches it, having read the note attached to it. He seems to watch the clip several times on loop, his wings wrapped around himself, motionless. Eventually he asks quietly. "Is that really how you think of me? Some helpless, fickle creature who is.... Who binds themself to someone they do not love, despite their true love being away for reasons that are ultimately selfish? That they would  choose a gilded cage with potential.... disadvantages, rather than to live free, but in rougher circumstances with the one who they love?"
Tears gather in Sparrow's eye sockets as he continues to stare at the video as it loops over and over again, his breathing growing ragged and shallow. "I don't... I don't remember why specifically Dove left - I think... I̧̳ ̜͎͓t͙̦̜h̗̯͎iṉ̷͙k̵ ̰͓͝I̴̳̝ ͈h͢e̱͙̘l̗p͇͚ed̯͓͢ ͞ḥ̛̥i͏̙̣m̸̭̰ ͖͚̲e̵s̨̼͕c̵̭̖a͜p̭̤̯e͇̬͇.̥ But I can't remember for certain and It was so... Sparrow's entire body was trembling lightly, and he seems to be trying to stop himself from sobbing openly. The video continues to play over and over again.

Who remembers what happened before Bluejay became Bluejay?
A very tense silence fills the room as you finish asking that question. Sparrow - who had just entered the room as he had sensed Angel’s distress and had wanted to see what was wrong in order to try to calm the other down before he was blamed for upsetting him again simply for existing, froze up for several seconds before curling in on himself, teleporting out of the room in order to avoid answering.
Angel’s eye lights brightened a little bit, and he tilts his head a little at you, a confused expression appearing on his face- though he also seems concerned by the fact that Sparrow fled from such an easy question. Then again, with how things have changed, Sparrow’s probably just bitter that the balance of power has shifted out of his favor. “We all do - it’s just that he goes by Bluejay now, both to distance himself from the criminal name known as Nightmare due to Sparrow’s efforts before we convinced him not to chase us anymore - that us working with him in JR would be better. Also because his wings are this very lovely blue-violet color.”
Raven walks over to Angel, hugging him close, a small smile appearing on his face “We do occasionally call him N̸ig̟͚͔h҉͚̮̯t̛̺͔m̯a̬̹r̶̳e̫̦̹ ̜, but he prefers the nickname Bluejay or Jay since he gained his wings, and I’m certainly not one to judge name preferences. You should really just ignore any of Sparrow’s dramatics. He’s just sulking. Everything’s fine here, really. The three of us are happy and safe. Jay, Angel and I.”
