Late to the party (heyyyy) but I’m here to say it’s been nearly a decade and this ship still destroys me. 

I’ve shipped ships (boy, have I shipped) but for some inexplicable reason my fangirling for Zeki stays just as ardent as it did way back when.  I take a break, then someone notices something like this and it’s like 

Zeki fam, I love you.  You’re fabulous.  We may not always agree, but we can all agree we’re sticking around for one reason or another (and for Zero, obvs 😘) 

Major thanks to the longtime fans who’ve stuck around despite all the cannon holes and trolls.  And thank you new VK readers who are keeping it alive. Because of you, we’ve all gotten a second chance to relive the magic every few months. It’s a pleasure sailing with all of y’all 🚢 ❤️

 I recently took notice to something while scanning through volume 8 for the hundredth time. The scene where Zero’s blood drips down into the snowy night. A few pages after that as Yuuki is waking up, parched and in need of blood, Hino makes a point to show the snow in the upper part of the panel. Now this could be just a coincidence or deliberately drawn to show that the scent of Zero’s blood is what caused Yuuki to wake up at that moment desiring blood. 

I hadn’t really paid much attention to the snow in the upper part of the panel until I was scanning through volume 8 and realized how Zero had said in vkm that she only ever desired his blood. Then I took notice to the snow on that panel and realized how Hino tends to connect things by drawing your attention to something in the panel. Much like she did with Yuuki’s bracelet when Kaname mentioned how he didn’t understand why she craved his blood so much.
