when I think about armand and louis stalking daniel for those 50 years I think about them like. watching him through a window while he’s trying and failing to crack an egg at 11pm on a thursday and judging him So Hard

childhood boredom nurtures creativity in people. every kind of creativity. boredom is neurologically healthy because it creates an absence that the brain has to expand to fill. it exercises the mind. someone who had an ipad shoved at them every time they were bored as a child, when their brain was extremely plastic, will literally never reach the creative potential they otherwise could have. they have been wired instead to seek instant gratification always, deep focus never. stopping boredom in its tracks permanently severs brain connections that would have otherwise developed. entire generational talents have already been muted or wiped out by this neurotic obsession with preventing boredom
#yeah!#I've really made a lot of effort to be better about this in the past few years#and it's really fucking difficult#but also so worth it#like I look back at most of my twenties#when my dependence on my phone/computer for entertainment was at it's worst#and it really does feel like a good chunk of that decade of my life just got sucked away and wasted#which sounds dramatic but it really is kind of true#and I think it's true for a lot of people#and I don't ever want to look back on a decade of my life and feel like that again

the tragedy of iwtv stems from a lot of factors, but we don't talk enough about one of them being that Santiago was simply too racist to swallow his pride and beg for a threesome.

There was a reviewer or commenter who said "I always keep track of how many mistakes the protagonist makes and after three, I stop reading the story and never look back".
I think about that person pretty frequently. We read for our own enjoyment, and therefore there's no wrong way to read a book so long as you're enjoying yourself, but ... maybe I don't actually believe that. Maybe there are wrong ways to read a book, and this guy found one.

I decided to wait for all of wheel of time season 3 to come out so I wouldn't have to wait too long between episodes and am now proceeding to watch it at possibly an even slower pace 😭
#I WANT to watch it faster but unfortunately I've been having the most hellishly busy several weeks and also the weather's amazing#so I don't want to sit on my ass inside when I DO have free time

contrary to popular belief not everyone has an innate sense of internal gender or care to have one or seek a name for it, some people go their whole lives without questioning their occupation in one of two gender roles, but for some people, if pressed, they don’t feel that internal sense of ‘i am a woman’ or ‘i am a man’, and in that case i feel the switch over to transgender vs cisgender relies on active identification of a gender other than the one they were assigned. if someone’s like ‘idk dude I just work here’ then that’s valid
#yeah#like never once in my life have I found myself going about my day thinking 'I feel real womanly right now' lol#I also wear exclusively clothing from the men's department these days and I don't shave or wear makeup#or have any particularly ~feminine interests#and I have no interest in claiming any particular trans or non binary identity#because personally I simply do not give a shit and also I don't find that any of those things about me mean I can't be a woman lol#but someone else who thinks/feels/dresses/behaves the same way I do might find those labels extremely useful and meaningful and that's grea#much like how I personally find gay/lesbian useful labels for me#but I'm not gonna be mad or assume someone is in denial or is ignorant of their own identity#if they feel attraction the exact same way I do but don't personally find the labels I use useful#and perhaps controversially I don't think it fucking matters at all if someone uses a particular label#even if they don't perfectly match the criteria for said label#like idk man these are all just words we've made up to describe experiences and feelings#they're always going to be imperfect#like#gender is made up we're all just trying to express and make sense of ourselves within a society that wants us to think it's not only real#but also supremely important and possibly some kind of sacred innate inner truth
