i will say one of the best results of actually practicing drawing on a regular basis apart from getting better at it (painfully slowly) is that it changes the way you see the world. i can't look at anything now without trying to break it down and translate it into art, if only in my imagination. my fingers really do itch whenever they aren't holding a pen.

i love the strange reality of being a human person with a human brain. one time someone said something to me in a foreign language (japanese, which i do not speak) and i automatically responded in a different foreign language (spanish, which i do not speak well) and then we both said "what?" in english, an experience made more surreal by the fact that everyone around us was speaking loudly in canadian french (as this occurred in Quebec)

#i learned spanish for most of my pre-18 education #then moved to wales and i am surrounded by welsh #and we have welsh communications skills classes so now my brain is like 'oh? another language? it must be with a spanish accent #of course!#it just can NOT work out how to pronounce a 'll'

*this is just about having medical needs that would have meant death without modern medicine, so no ‘I’d probably die from not being able to distinguish the blur as a lion’ we have a healthy caveman squad who cares for each other, we just also dont have, yknow, penicilin. etcetera.
