Is the name of the blog indicative of the folks who are posting here… like, is it a closed community of writers who already know each (i.e. it’s a friends group who decided to write together) or is it aspirational?

Can’t tell if you’re open to new submissions from outsiders and I’m not sure if I should inject myself/my work into your midst uninvited.

Anyone who is interested in supporting their fellow writers and building a positive sense of community in the sdv fandom is welcome. All skill levels are welcome.

The goal of this blog is to foster inspiration bc writing can be hard! It's a vulnerable experience and sometimes it helps to know there are people publically cheering for you. I also want this to be a space where engagement on tumblr can feel meaningful bc it can sometimes feel a little shallow. I want it to have a nostalgic tumblr vibe (that's why I didn't make a community).

I'll add a note to the blog's description that new farmers are welcome (to clarify)! For our prompts masterlist, check out our pinned post. I haven't started a masterlist for our wips yet (I'm working on it), but you can reblog our most recent whip out your wip and add to it if you'd like!

This blog is still very new, and I'm working on figuring out what sort of actions could be helpful.

I was thinking about doing a monthly sdv fic rec list, but it would be made of submissions ppl who participate in this blog make. How it would work is I'd ask for fic rec submissions, and you could send an ask with the fic you rec, a quote from the fic that was significant to you, and what you like about it. Then I could take all the rec info and put together a post. What do you think? But I'm not sure bc sometimes writers don't read a lot of fic, so it might not work out.

“Oh, the spa will fix you up really fast. Now, come on.” You picture yourself in Alex’s arms, swept like a damsel in distress through the town square at dinner time. You brace yourself for the torrent of stares, the whispers, the speculation, and begin scrambling for some justification. I got injured—Alex wanted to try a new workout—he saved me from drowning, a true hero. Fabricating some story will probably make things worse, and nothing satisfies like the truth. Alex kneels down and reaches for your waist. Before you question it you clasp your hands around his neck and lean your shoulder into his sternum. One of his arms slides behind your knees, the other cradling your back, and with surprising strength and grace he lifts you and hugs you to his chest. You spare one devious look at him to find his ivy-green eyes roving your face, a corner of his mouth twitching upward. “Comfy?” he asks. A bark jumps out of your throat—a laugh, you realize—and shame colors your cheeks like a sunburn. “Very. Thank you.”
