I have a completely unrelated and very long question though lol

Have you ever read a book series called All For The Game? People say the books are horrible but also the best thing they've ever read. I loved them but its been forever since I first read them. It's three books in the main series. I'd love if you'd see what you think about the books because if you read them I'd love if you wrote something about it because I love your writing and all your fics(I've even read some of your genshin impact fics). I know of you do read them and write something it would take a while(also cause you're writing the fourth wing fic) but I'd love reading something you wrote on the books or even hearing your thoughts on the books.

I have not read All For The Game, but I have heard about it including how divisive it is hahah it’s not on my list tbh I’m just not crazy big sports romance gal so it never make it past my periphery to look into it more. I have a few series on my list before I consider new stuff! I used to read a lot more before I started writing again, so I really have only read like six or seven books outside of Empyrean and re-reads in 2025. I just started Hail Mary Project (after binge re-reading the Martian in one day) + then I am finally finishing the Folk of the Air series because I have been dragging my feet about book two but I have the box-set + then I have like a dozen other books on my immediate list. So someday but probably not soon!

I love that you read my genshin fics hahahah they were very fun and sweet! It’s wild to think about how much I’ve grown since! I stopped writing fic when I stopped playing the game, so I’m so thankful for Fourth Wing bringing me back ❤️

Oh Rosie! I'm finally done with very time consuming new job training and now I can go back to a backlog of your beautiful fics! Just a few of weeks of boring absence and there is somehow SEVEN new chapters across three fics? (I confess I caved and read the Tairn one, but it was short so no one needs to know ahah). I feel like it's my grown-up birthday and the whole cake is mine lol

The hiatus between the two parts will be unbearable though I feel like. Do you think the xaden pov fic will catch up with the main ones by part two? Do you think you'll eve write dual pov in the same story? Will our simpering king's storyline even continue in the future? I hope so, it makes me feel so much 💙💙💙

Omg hi, welcome back! I’m so glad you had so many goodies waiting for you, I hope you enjoy 💛 Spyverse will have a lull since I’m on vacation right now + when I get back, I’ll be posting a different Empyrean multi-chapter fic for a gift exchange I’m a part of it! It’s much different to Life of Spies and it’ll take up most of my attention for the rest of the month.

Putting this under a read more because it’s a lot but it’s a good insight into what I have coming up!

Hahahah I will have other projects during the hiatus to keep you guys busy 💛 I do plan to continue Xaden POV and catch it up the end of part i eventually + I have a few one-shots and stories that I’ll keep working on (i.e. finishing up Ivan’s story, Violet and Imogen’s date, Xaden’s dagger run where Cat uses her powers on him, my Spyverse redux AU of an AU, etc). All of these are things I’m super excited to write, but main fic has been my priority. I’d like to post all of them before I officially start posting part ii… whether or not that happens, we’ll see. This is a passion project so I’ll go wherever inspiration takes me.

I’d love to also write other Empyrean fics outside of Spyverse! There is one ship that I was dying to get in my fic exchange but didn’t, so I plan on writing that too (for me) hahah they won’t take priority over Spyverse because I have SO much love for this story, but I do want to branch out!

Dual POV of the same story is an interesting question… Violet and Xaden are the only ones who get first person POV in the entire series on purpose, and it’s only been Violet in the main fic (first person, present tense) to mirror canon. I have had some ideas about including a few special chapters in part ii… not for Xaden… but for two other characters… if I do that, I’ll probably still stick to third person for them but have them take over narration to an extent. Someone should remember to ask me what that means after I post the final chapter, and maybe I tell you. But a true dual POV for part ii is unlikely because Violet’s voice in this story matters a lot to me. Xaden’s POV stays separate because I wanted her story to stay very centric to her experiences… that’s what makes the side stories fun! We get to see so much that she manages to miss, even as a spy hahaha like she has no clue about the vibes with Ridoc and Ivan… I really don’t know how!

Xaden probably won’t get a part ii pov fic… at least not in its entirety like I’m planning on trying to complete for part i. His story has probably brought me the most stress out of Spyverse… like I feel the chapters I’m behind on SO acutely. When I was committed to writing both stories concurrently, it was easy and the experience informed each chapter. Like 17. I think both POVs of that chapter are so special to me. But I don’t write when it feels like a chore, so it hasn’t gotten a lot of love lately now that I’m so behind! He’ll still get one-shots (in first person POV like his story) for the especially juicy stuff.

I hope this all helps! I have a lot of big plans, but you guys make it easy to stay motivated!

Today, my partner surprised me with the red holiday edition of Fourth Wing as a late birthday present + I met a fellow fan in the wild who is also in the wedding party I’m in and we spent an entire rehearsal dinner talking about it.

Ok... wow... Chapter 65... I have so many feelings, quite literally ascending right now.

First up, I hate Halden as much as the next person, but let it not be said that he (and by extension, you) doesn't have good insults. Calling someone a trauma response is wild.

Second, this is me during this chapter:

"He's gonna confess!!! *Shaking violently*"

"Wait! WAIT! SHE KNOWS?! SHE ALREADY KNOWS?! *Shaking intensifies*"

"VICTOR!!!!"

"This was amazing, I can die happy now- oh, we're cutting straight to them having at it, ok :D"

In all seriousness though, this was amazing and quite possibly my favorite chapter in all of literature! Thank you for sharing your genius with us!

hey rosieee i am not saying you need to do it, but have u ever thought of doing like a flashback kinda thing where we see the Calldyr executions through Xaden's eyes? I've read a fic like that and i liked it ut idk i guess everyone pictures it differently in their head bc in canon we don't get lots of info!

Life of Spies Chapter 65

When I move to step past Halden to join him, the stupid prince tries to grab my hand to stop me. I pull away a stone from the wall holding back my powers to summon a small current of energy to my fingertips, this time with the intention of shocking him.  “Fuck!” he curses again, pulling his hand back to cradle against his chest. "You've got to stop doing that!"  I keep walking, calling back over my shoulder. “Sorry about that. People say that I struggle with control, in case that wasn’t in your reports.” “Violet!” he shouts behind me but I only have eyes for Xaden, who—even with the rising tide of rage in his onyx gaze threatening to overflow—still looks worn down and strung out by his grief.  My feet could carry me towards him on instinct alone. I reach forward to grasp his offered hand. The sparks of lightning lingering on my palms meet the shadows whirling out from around his wrist for a moment in the space between us, more in sync than any of the dancers on the floor tonight. As our hands touch, the blue-white energy flickers away as if calmed by his presence and only the wisps of darkness remain. 

The prince is about to get a nasty wake-up call!
