& plan imaginary trips to mars

Or maybe a sofa, cozy and warm

To wrap up in softness during the storm

A place to lay my weary bones at night

Bathed in the late night bright tv light

Could've been a fire to warm up the room

Crackling with glee, banishing the gloom

I'd glow through the winter, dispelling fear

If you needed comfort I'd be right here

But truly you'll find me with the sheep

I'm simply a bed that's empty of sleep

I get that you're mad. A lot of us are horrified by what's happening in Palestine but that's not the only thing that is happening in the world. I've never once implied that no one should care about Palestine. i think everyone should care about it. But you are truly missing the point and at this point I'm not sure that it's not intentional. Who's to say that someone slaughtered in Palestine, or in the Mexican drug war or the conflict in Congo didn't have insight we will never hear? Who's to say that an unhoused person could have added something beautiful and true we'll never experience? This isn't about passivity, it's about acknowledging that some things are horrifically factual.

The lilac lingers with
