im the tortured artist youve described, im not romanticizing anything, you also described millions of other artists who weren't born into the same privilege taylor has or will ever achieve her level of privilege. i agree, the tortured artist trope has harmed a lot of people, i come from a long line of tortured artists who never got any kind of help bc they thought it would take their creative drive. thats why Taylor Swift, a billionaire who already came from money, cosplaying the tortured artist (or her also rich ex bf she is allegedly making fun of with this album) without experiencing the systemic issues that creates a tortured artist.

im calling HER out for romanticizing the concept to much to profit off of it. she can freely make art, she doesnt have to choose between a tiring job and making the art she wants to make, she has access to all the mental healthcare available, she doesnt know the experience, she lives an incredibly privileged life and lacks the self awareness to accept that. her young audience isn't going to pick up on the "satire" and theyre going to romanticize the struggle. if people find this album relatable and cathartic then thats cool or whatever, i just have issue with blonde girl elon musk and her lack of self awareness.
