People judge me for not reading 'real' books as much but like...the tagging system in fanfic is fucking amazing. I can find exactly what I want, and I know I'm avoiding anything that will upset me in a way that hurts my mental health.

AND it's free.

I'm all for supporting authors, especially authors just starting out, but fanfic is fucking amazing and people who've never read it just don't get it.

i find it endlessly annoying that people act like a therapist gives any semblance of a fuck when we all know the only reason they even bother talking to their clients is the hundreds of dollars they charge each week, because that's how the suicidal and desperate need to be treated, they need to be extorted for their every fucking dime just to get some asshole who objectively does not fucking care to listen and then tell them, "yeah that's rough, so same time next week?" as if acknowledging a life or abuse and poverty somehow fucking makes up for it and makes life anymore fucking meaningful. but of course you still have to to go back each week because the only other option is to just fucking die which everyone says would make you an even worse piece of shit than you already fucking are. so instead you just keep talking to fucking wastes of time who tell you that your life sucks and you should feel shitty, meanwhile visiting another massive wast of money to get more and more fucking pills that don't do anything besides scrape the inside of your fucking throat on the way down. and then when they don't ever start fucking working, everyone lies and says they can see the improvement even though you can feel that they aren't doing anything and that every day is a fucking struggle and you cant really talk to anyone about it because every therapist you've tried is some fake ass capitalist money loving dick, and all your friends seem like aliens and your fucking family treat you like glass or get all pissy when you remind them how they abused and abandoned you as a fucking child. so instead you stew and self medicate and just try to make it through the fucking day without pulling the knife you keep hidden out and finally fucking ending it becuase what the fuck else are you doing? everything sucks all the time and the world seems intent on just getting worse and worse and everything seems to make so much more sense if you just fucking die.

instead you write and angry rant because your account is over drafted and you hate asking your parents for money to help with therapy so instead you really just give the other idea a long think while waiting for your useless fucking pills to kick in

to all my fellow usamericans, its okay to just admit you didn't know something. you can just say, "sorry where is that"? and then thank the the person when they tell you. like most people won't care that much if you just apologize and own up to the fact that you don't know where their country is. they might be a little annoyed, but given that you know literally nothing about their home, that's justified, hence the apology.
