Showing of the film
Coursework Development/ Production
I presented my film with both a friend and my parents, and they were highly impressed. They noted a significant improvement in my work compared to my previous film. They particularly appreciated the advancements in camera angles and various elements in the film.

My friend, who has knowledge about editing, went a step further by analyzing the original clips alongside the edited versions. She commended the precise and balanced color grading in the film.

Editing day 2
Coursework Development/ Production
On the second day of the editing process, I had just two remaining tasks: working on typography and adjusting the color scheme. To begin, I searched for a new font as I didn't find the fonts available on premier pro appropriate for my film, then I evaluated three options: Romelio Sans, Cabinets, and Rose Hot. Ultimately, I settled on "Rose Hot" for the title.
"Cabinets" for the designation and name.
Subsequently, I moved on to color grading. Initially, I experimented with RGB (Red, Green, Blue) curves to fine-tune the color balance. I then made some basic corrections, such as warming up the temperature in the scene featuring Eva lying on the bed. I meticulously defined the shadows, highlights, and midtones using color wheels and matched. I also adjusted the exposure and ensured a consistent color grading throughout the previous scene, making subtle changes in the next scene to achieve a harmonious and seamless transition.
At last, my project is complete. It was both challenging and exhilarating, offering me the opportunity to acquire new skills in Premiere Pro and experiment with various creative elements. So, Today marks the conclusion of my work on this project.

Editing day 1
Coursework Development/ Production
I started off with creating different folders for each scene as it helped me save time and keep my media section organized.
Firstly, I combined all the clips of scene 1, and started creating the first cut of the opening.
And save the scene 1 draft as a backup and continued this with all the scenes.
I did color coding on each clip of a particular scene as it helped in distinguish the scenes. like yellow for scene 1 and blue for scene 2
After this I add some transition in between clips.
Add an adjustment layer for the farming of the film., I created that layer on photoshop.
I adjusted the frame in some scenes as after adding the layer there was some portion which was going out of the frame so, I did this with the help of effects controls and changed the position and scale.
Half of my day went in assembling the clips and arranging a flow in between all the clips.
then I started to work on sounds as a had many foley sounds like AC, crumbling and throwing of paper, message pop ups, water pouring, phone ringtone, these were the ones I took from YouTube but there were some sounds which were not available so in that case I decided to create some sounds by myself like breathing, breath out, breath in, annoyed sounds.

And searched for two ambient sounds on YouTube: morning sounds like birds chirping, traffic, tree leaves flowing and night sounds like dogs barking, howling, watchman's whistle etc.
then stated by placing the background music sharing from a south Indian movie 96.
Then continued adding the foley sounds and adjusted the volume and did the sound mixing accordingly to the scene and background music.
youtube
This marked the first day of my editing journey, during which I began by organizing all the scenes into separate folders and color-coded the clips within each scene. Next, arranged the shots in each scene, starting with Scene 1, and proceeded to complete the sequencing for all scenes. Afterward, I focused on the audio elements. I introduced the background music, using the "96" movie's sharing background music. For foley sounds, I employed a phone recorder to create some of them, while I sourced the remaining sounds from YouTube and carefully synchronized them with the video.
By the end of the day two things were remaining typography of title and color grading.

Day 1 of shoot
Coursework Development/ Production
The shoot started at 10am, I started with the makeup of the actor.

Then I took rehearsals of the actor to help her get into the character. Then I started setting up the camera.

I started with the shooting of scene 3 which took place in the kitchen, as I was shooting at my home itself and had to clear the kitchen fast, and then I had set up the background as per the requirement of the scene by placing some utensils in the frame to give it a feel of a household kitchen.
Before

after

Then I moved on to scene 1 where I shot the close ups of calendar , messy desk and dead sunflower, moving on to the scene where I had to shoot a top angle of Eva sleeping on bed firstly I tried to capture this shot just by placing tripod on the bed which didn't work out as the camera wasn't able to reach the height were it could capture Eva from top angle properly so I place a small stole on the bed stood over it and held the tripod so it could reach at a particular height.

This bed symbolizes the womb, which is why I opted for a red bedsheet and incorporated natural sunlight to harmonize the red tones with a subtle, comforting warmth.
Then I arranged to create an over flooded dustbin by crumbling wastepaper. For the scene where Eva is throwing crumpled paper in the bin and shoot it by handheld.

Then I had to shoot a night scene in day light, so I had to close the curtains and decided to keep the study lamp as the light source as it gave the perfect mid night feel.

Continuing with the scene where I had to shoot the calendar from Eva's perspective, here I placed myself in the position of Eva and captured this shot.

And for capturing my stills I asked one of my friends to click my pictures
As our majority of shots were done, we all took a half an hour break and got back to work around 3:30pm again which continued till 5pm.
After the break I shot scene 5 in which a new character comes into the frame in Sam Eva's boyfriend. Here I had to shoot a fight scene between them. I took a master shot of the whole argument and in OTS (over the shoulder) as well.
After a long tiring day which lasted for nearly 8 - 9 hours. The day ended with this shot. As I had to wrap up the shot in one day it was quite hectic for me to handle and cover up all the shots, but it was all worth it.

Mock/Test shots
Coursework Development/ Production
I did a mock shot before the final one which enabled me to understand which angle would complement and enhance the shot and how I wanted the actor's action to unfold.
I did this mock shot a day before the shoot.
youtube
Here I used a mid-angle, which takes place in scene 2.
youtube
I took this shot to get an understanding of the Hight I have to maintain while shooting.
youtube
I decide to include this shot during the mock shoot and improvise the scene. I've shown POV of the laptop.
youtube
youtube
These scenes will take place in scene 3 where Eva enters the kitchen.
This approach not only helped me in becoming familiar and confident with the various camera angles and movements required for the shoot but also provided the flexibility to make on-the-fly adjustments to any scene if the situation demanded it.

Budget
Research and Planning
I recently put together a basic budget for my film project, and it became clear to me just how crucial and beneficial budgeting can be. Even though my project was on a smaller scale, I realised that budgeting is a valuable tool for gaining a comprehensive understanding of your financial resources throughout the entire production process. It allows you to track and manage your expenses, ensuring that you know exactly where and why you're spending your resources.
here it is please take a look.

Storyboard
Research and Planning
Storyboard is a visual representation of the script which helps in visualizing the scene shot by shot.
Story boarding will help me by creating a clarity of shots in my mind before the shoot, it gave an overall idea of how the framing will be done of all the elements and characters.
I've drawn the story board according to the division of each scene which is presented the shot division.

Here I've drawn 5 frames here of scene 1 which majorly includes closeups.

All the frames here take place in scene 1.
First three frames are of scene 1 and the rest will take place in scene 2.
These frames are of scene 3 which will be shoot in kitchen and the last frame will be in scene 4.

Filming equipment.
Research and Planning
I will be using this camera (canon 1500D) to shoot my film. I hope the experience of using this camera will be quite smooth and comfortable.

This lens is 18 by 55mm, it's a wide angle zoom lens and I've decided to use wide angle in close up shots as well to experiment.
I wanted to use manual mode as it will give me a better understanding of the camera but also allowed me to hone my skills to their fullest potential.
Tripod

Regarding the tripod, I opted for the Yuntek brand. Its lightweight design and height adjustability greatly facilitated my shooting experience, enhancing the overall fluidity of my work.
Memory card
I will be using this memory card as its speed of processing the image is fast which helps the camera to process the image quicker.
Light
I will also be using a Table lamp which will be practical light alongside the natural light source.

Character
Research and Planning
The primary character is Eva , played by Zelfa Malik. Here I've described the personality of ‘Eva’ and her characteristics which reflect in her role throughout the film. Eva as a character is a frustrated person who's just done with everything around her and on the verge of losing herself despite the overwhelming weight of it all. She wakes up from her bed, sits in front of the laptop with a little hope, determined to work.
Makeup and hair also reflect in the building of a character like here in my product I haven't worked much on Eva's makeup and hair as the story requires her to be natural and low so for this is just smudged some kajal in her under eye and tied her in a messy low bun.
Before makeup

After makeup
This is how the emotional graph of Eva goes throughout the film.
My secondary character Sam is played by Aryan Maknojiya. Here Sam is playing the role of Eva's boyfriend, even after Eva tells him to leave her alone and go away, he still comes back and refuses to give up on her and approaches the situation with remarkable understanding and calmness towards Eva. And handles it mindfully.
This is how the emotional graph of Sam goes throughout the film.

Shot Division.
Research and Planning
As a director, I meticulously organized each scene into individual shots, providing me with a clear and effective blueprint for our shoot. In scene 1, the majority of shots focused on close-ups, highlighting elements that symbolized or related to Eva's emotional state.
For scene 2, I divided it into two shots. The first captured Eva lying on a bed, her movements resembling those of a baby in the womb, alongside close-ups of Eva and her phone.
Scene 3 was constructed with four distinct shots, all unfolding in the kitchen setting.
In scene 4, fewer shots were necessary, primarily consisting of point-of-view shots of Eva and the laptop.
Scene 5 mainly revolved around conversations, featuring a combination of master shots, point-of-view shots, and over-the-shoulder shots to facilitate the dialogue.
Scene 6 marked the breaking moment for Eva, and I broke it down into six shots, incorporating multiple close-ups and mid shots to emphasize her emotional breaking point.

Storyline
Research and Planning
This is my storyline.
Eva the protagonist is a dedicated self made designer .
laying on her bed with an emotionless face and she looks at the stick note placed on the wall addressing that the design needs to be submitted on 26 of September in her mind she should have been done with the draft but, in those starting days all she did was sat in a dark room with a table lamp in front of a blank sheet and laptop screen staring at it for an hour rethinking and questioning all the decision she took, tries to sketch something but crumbles it and throws it away in a over flooded trash can . breathes and gets up hopelessly climbing up her bed. She's on a bed moving like a child in a womb as if she's growing like a baby. a message pops up on her phone from her boss regarding the status of the project.
She goes to the kitchen and her phone notification comes up “5 missed calls from Sam” her boyfriend she fills a glass with water and the phone rings MOM calling she cuts the call and moves. Days passed with those sleepless nights where she wanted to work and finish the task, but her mind and soul was drained out. as a single day passed, she drew a cross on the calendar.
a day later Suddenly her bell rings and she open the door looking at her boyfriend with baggy eyes and dark circles, opens the door. He comes in, they have a huge fight, and he leaves. Her phone rings, mom calling, she picks and shouts at her and says, “why are you calling me again and again if I'm not picking up the call that means I'm busy”. The bell rings and she get up, opens and finds a parcel on the doorstep.
She slid the door, but it was slightly open. She gets the parcel in and tries to open it, takes a knife as the parcel is packed tightly it doesn't open easily. She throws the parcel towards a shelf, and it falls. she looks at the knife then her wrist repeats this for two times and then she looks at herself in the mirror and has an emotional breakdown. She gets up, goes in front of the sink and washes her face trying to calm herself down but the tears are not stopping. followed by her laying on her bed. Suddenly a man comes into the room and touches her hair softly (flashback: she slides the door, but it is slightly open).
She looks at him and feels a sense of relief knowing that he was Sam. Eva asks him “why are you here, i told you not to come”. He was quiet, cleaning her room, opening the curtains and arranging all the mess on her desk. He went into the kitchen and started preparing coffee for her, came into her room and placed the coffee on the desk, played a song and changed the dead sunflower with the fresh ones. She gets up and hugs him from behind as she hears the lyrics Loving and fighting, accusing, denying I can't imagine a world with you gone, hold on by chord Overstreet. She goes back to her work (fade through black).
They are sitting on the sofa in a cozy blanket watching a movie notebook, a half-eaten pizza box and a glass of coke placed on the coffee table. Suddenly a mail pops up from her client addressing how brilliantly her work was. She's feeling happy and grateful, she looks at Sam and smile and he kisses her on the forehead and says, “I'll always be here.”
