Awkwardly coming in to say hello properly for the first time in 2024.

I keep coming up with these grand ideas at the start of each month to make some elaborate post, but life just keeps on life-ing and then I get reluctant to post anything.

Anyway, I'm just popping in to say I've written a couple of random pieces and I will post them at some point soon. Admittedly, given the amount of spam and adverts I see now on Tumblr I'm more inclined to look into other platforms (perhaps AO3), but I'll definitely keep sharing my kpop fanfic here in the very least.

He could tell you wanted to ask him what he was doing long before you actually did. And so when you eventually leaned across the wagon carriage towards BamBam, he had to withhold the knowing smirk he felt rise upon his lips.

“What are you doing?”

“Writing.”

“Why that much is evident,” you remarked, flustered by his simple answer. It didn’t deter you, however, and after recollecting yourself, you continued. “Writing about what?”

BamBam finally smiled, his eyes lifting from the page he had been scribbling upon since his journey began. He was rather accustomed to writing in any situation now after doing so for many years, and riding in the back of an open carriage to his next destination was rather tame to the elephant he had sat astride a mere two months previously. Still, he could appreciate that his action could raise many questions within someone else. “About my travels.”

“Travels?” you repeated in confusion, and before he looked back down, he noticed your brows knit together. “You are a travelling man?”

You couldn’t tell what day it was or how long you had been seated on this sofa for. The curtains were closed and you had no recognition of what day or night meant anymore. Those who had come to check on you in beginning dwindled off and you didn’t know when you last ate. You felt pathetic even though it was too overwhelming to consider life without him now.

You had always thought you and Jackson would last forever. You had been high school sweethearts and everyone had joked you would be the first ones to get married. When you went onto college, you had scheduled your different degrees to match up so you could still see each other every day. You studied and worked out together, and you even moved into an apartment together in your second year. You had thought that life couldn’t get any better than this.  

You hadn’t anticipated that to change.

I was tagged by the wonderful @blizzardfluffykpop for this game. It's been a while since I've done a tagged game, so let's do this.

Last Song: my mobile Spotify is saying Wildfire by Monsta X, which I know I was listening to in the car the other day. But I was listening to Kyungsoo on my laptop last night, and I think I heard Lost before going to bed.

Last Movie: The Moon. It was very good, though I spent a lot of my time sitting on the edge of my seat worrying about what would happen next. Korean movies are always more than they appear in the trailer. It was the first time I went to the cinemas in like two years, too, haha.

Currently Reading: I'm trying to finish Nightbirds by Kate J Armstrong (it's okay, but I took a big gap between last reading it and now I don't have much interest), I started Enchanted to Meet You by Meg Cabot last night for book club (It's not as adult as I expected it to be... feels quite juvenile), and I also have Phantom of the Idol vol1 started. It seemed like a cute little manga when I was at the store the other day and picked it up. I've read 123 books this year so far, and I'm very close to my 150 goal 😊

Currently Watching: no shows atm. But an endless amount of YouTube 😅

Current Obsession: making resin crafts. It's so expensive, so I'm trying not to do it too often, but I love to see what comes out of the moulds.

“Ma’am,” you heard Jeonghan start with his I don’t get paid nearly enough to work here tone. “I’m a receptionist at this station. Not an actual officer.”

There was a bout of confused silence, and you itched to turn away from your sergeant who was addressing you on the same neighbourhood watch details as he had painstakingly shared yesterday. And the day before. You already knew the area was low on crime. You assumed that was down to the fact that everyone knew everybody’s business in this tiny precinct, and the largest criminal offence that took place here was the garish outfits Old Maeve downstairs assaulted your eyes with every morning on your way to work.

“Oh,” the woman purred – or was it slurred – and then giggled. “Well, can you point me in the direction of an arresting officer?”

Seungcheol snorted beside you, and you bit your lip to suppress your own amusement. Your sergeant eyed you both suspiciously. “You think the neighbourhood night watch is a laughing matter?”

“No, Sir. Of course not.”

You shook your head in agreement with Seungcheol’s statement. Your boss huffed and then dismissed you both, right when Jeonghan rounded the corner and rolled his eyes.

“Did you hear? She’s in need of an arresting officer.”

Seungcheol grinned and gave you a nudge. “Off you go, Y/N. You’ve got a set of cuffs on you right now.”

“I’m pretty sure she’s in need of someone from the opposite gender, hm? And a big strapping police officer like you would be much more suited,” you quipped, holding out your index fingers and thumbs as if to frame him inside the view.

“That and so she can stand and watch your ass again,” Jeonghan suggested without emotion, already done with the day despite it only being eight-thirty in the morning.

Gaping at the jaded receptionist as he headed for the kitchen to no doubt doctor himself up another coffee, you then smiled brightly at your co-worker who was watching you with renewed interest. “I don’t stare at your butt.”

“I don’t mind if you do,” Seungcheol teased, shooting you a wink before gesturing to you to go help the lady out the front. He leaned in as you brushed by him, his lips almost catching your earlobe in the process. “I’m sure as hell guilty for looking at yours. Might need to arrest me afterwards.”

Jackson stared at the cold blob that had landed precariously on the tip of his nose until he almost went cross-eyed. He blinked, and once more, just to be sure.

And then he turned his gaze towards his wife. “What was that for?”

“Hmm?” you hummed unconvincingly, your grin betraying any attempt at innocence.

“This,” he said, scooping the cream from his face and onto the tip of his index finger. Before he could further comment on how the condiment had made it onto his face from the bowl you had been whipping it in, your lush mouth wrapped around his digit and sucked it off with a pop.

He felt that quick caress everywhere.

“What? I don’t see anything,” you replied matter-of-fact, making a big show of looking him all over for the proclaimed cream.

Quick as he could, Jackson reached into the bowl and smeared a blob of cream over your left cheek.

“That is for the cake!” you cried, and much as you had done previously, Jackson leaned in and took a long lick of your cheek, ensuring the colour of your skin was as flushed as his own body felt.

You gasped, and he grinned, wondering where else the cream could end up.
