I don’t know if it’s the same in other industries or even other restaurants but I’m thinking about it because I got tendonitis from work lol. I feel like there’s always been an understanding and kind of an inside joke that there’s like a time limit to this job and only a certain amount of years before it fucks your body up. like almost everyone who has worked many years in service or kitchen talk about constant back and knee pain or end up on long term sick leave because the injured knee they’ve kept working on finally said enough is enough. we’ve talked about this like on some level I think we know that “hard working” is manager speak for never taking sick days and being willing to wreck your body so the higher ups makes a larger profit. and isn’t it fucked up to celebrate and reward not taking care of yourself?

Nader is seventeen years old and has recently been forced to flee again after being displaced more than ten times in Gaza. He is raising money to support his family of eight, so they can afford the things they need to survive in gaza, and hopefully evacuate when this is a possibility. Blessed to have a girlfriend who treats doing things for me like it’s her hobby now that I am struggling with lifting things and opening bottles because of my wrist. She will get out of bed to get me water and coffee in the morning and then go back to sleep after I leave for work.
