Interview: what your dream outfit for field recording would be.

[English] My dream outfit for field recordings is a clean shirt with a black jacket, stretchy pants, and black sneakers. I usually record sounds in the cities. Passengers sometimes look at me strangely while recording or walking with a handy recorder. Not to be called out by a police officer, I keep myself clean and a bit formal as much as possible. I also record sounds in the nature, but I wear almost the same.

An outfit is just an outfit. I prefer not to let my presence be felt in my work. Occasionally I record my own sounds such as footsteps and the sound of clothes. It's to create the story of the person in my own works to be driven by necessity. But basically I don't care how my outfit works to my works. I'm just a recorder, not a protagonist.

[Chinese] 我夢想中的田野錄音穿搭是一件乾淨的襯衫、黑色外套、有彈性的長褲，搭配黑色運動鞋。 我通常在城市裡錄音。當我拿著手持錄音器錄音或走路時，乘客有時會用奇怪的眼神看我。為了避免被警察盯上，我盡量保持乾淨整潔，略帶正式感。 我也會在自然環境中錄音，但穿著幾乎沒什麼不同。

服裝對我來說就是服裝。我傾向於不讓自己的存在在作品中被感受到。 偶爾我會錄下自己的聲音，例如腳步聲或衣物的聲響。那是為了讓作品中的人物因某種必要而產生故事。但基本上，我不在意服裝如何影響作品。我只是個錄音者，不是主角。

[Japanese] フィールドレコーディングにおける私の「理想的な服装」は、きれいなYシャツに黒いジャケット、ストレッチ素材のパンツ、黒いスニーカーです。 普段は街なかで録音をしています。録音をしていたりハンディーレコーダーを持って歩いていたりすると、時おり通行人から変な目で見られることがあります。警察官から声をかけられないために、可能なかぎり清潔で少しフォーマルでいようと心がけています。 自然のなかで録音をおこなうこともありますが、服装は基本的に同じです。

服装はただの服装です。自分の作品のなかには自分の存在が感じられないことを好みます。 時には自身の音、足音や服のこすれる音などを録音することがありますが、それは作品のなかに「人のストーリー」を作り出すため必要に駆られておこなっています。しかし基本的には作品に服装がどう作用するかを気にしていません。私は録音者であり、主人公ではないのです。

In my activity, I create works by combining different kinds of sounds. Multiple layers and changing scenes make complexity and stories. I like to create a continuous dynamic story and a stream of consciousness in my work. This time also I mixed pieces of various styles, such as field recordings, sound collages, electroacoustic sounds, and improvisations. And some of them are taken from the catalog of my own label "zappak". 私は自身の活動のなかで、異なるものを組み合わせて作品を制作しています。複数のレイヤーやシーンの転換は、複雑さやストーリーを生み出します。作品のなかにひとつづきの動的なストーリーを組み立てること、意識などの流れを生み出すことを私は好みます。 ここでも同様に、異なるスタイルのピースを混ぜ合わせてミックスを作成しました。フィールド・レコーディング、サウンド・コラージュ、電子音響、即興演奏などのピースが用いられており、自身のレーベル"zappak"からの作品も含まれています。
