After more than 6 years I managed to find a way to play the sims 2 again as it is apparently impossible to quit playing it. Andddd I come with a very niche default/mod I have created to suit my playing needs a bit more. 

Nobody would bat an eye at people named Rose, Max, Summer, Daisy, Victor etc. Yet, they all have a literal meaning, and they are not the only ones. Across cultures, people have been naming their children after literal things, feelings, adjectives, virtues and more, so why would Tulip be any weirder than Rose? I love giving my sims names that we would consider quirky or strange so I created a name replacement mod so you can too if you want to!

This mod will replace the default names the game gives new townies and NPCs that have their own name. The default includes 200 female surnames, 200 male surnames and 230 lastnames (for both genders). Keep in mind that it will only work on townies and NPCs that generate after you’ve installed this mod.

I was inspired by nature, outer space, the weather, food, animals, math, random adjectives, colors and more! You can see a selection of some of the names that my game generated in the image. A full list is included in the download. Hoi! Quick question, it's regarding this post: /post/131293983262 Box isn't working for chrisaldesign's SS gift unfortunately. I tried it last month and today on the 4th, but nothing. Her askbox isn't loading for me right now too, so I thought I'd ask you first. Could you maybe upload the master mesh recolor? I'd really appreciate it! I really love that house and the other one you made in that style. It's exactly what I'm looking for. c:

@grilledcheese-aspiration was looking for some sims to live in her new hood, I created 2 because I was inspired! :)

Flint Pepper likes to know why he loves the moon so much, When he was little the very-secret-thing-nobody-talks-about happened. He doesn’t remember much from that time, only that he used play with a very fury friend. Will he ever find the answer in one of his many books?

Stupid, stupid me.

So, I got confused when packaging my bodyshop downloads and changed the savedsim file for the project file wich resulted in ALL MY DOWNLOADS NOT EVEN SHOWING UP IN PEOPLES GAMES.

I’m incredibly sorry and so angry at myself for not thinking.

I always check to see if my downloads show up by moving my downloads folder, but the savedsims folder stays so that’s probably why I never noticed that very stupid mistake. #such noob

So please, if you downloaded some bodyshop content from me, please redownload it if you want to see it in your game :’).

Hi there! I found your simblr a couple days ago and love your creations! I downloaded all of your swimming suits and your teen collection, however none are actually showing up in game or bodyshop! I have thousands and thousands of items in my downloads folder and your clothing items are the only ones I can't use! Any help would definitely be appreciated. :)

I think I know what went wrong, So I went to look at the files and I stupidly packaged the wrong files (those from the project folder instead of those in the savedsims folder –’), I’ve been doing this for a few downloads and I have no idea why I got confused so much? Thank you so much for telling me! I’m so angry at myself right now ohgosh, I should’ve checked better.

I fixed all the download links, so they should work now! :)

Family Flux

The flux twins have very different personalities. Onyx is a pleasure seeking adventurer* while willow loves to geek* about her many interests in the safety of her own bedroom. If it wasn’t for their mother, they would have probably avoided any contact after they moved out. Their mother however, told them the story of how they were born, which the twins were never allowed to ask.

Their mother Rose, got knocked-up in her first year of college of some dude she met at a party. She knew that the guy would never be a good father. Her parents weren’t an option to go to neither, as they would disown her if they found out about her pregnancy. A similar expedition to unknown territory was her only chance, so she took it. The first five years of their lives they lived a sober, but happy live. On the night of the twins’ birthdays however, Rose opened the door only to see the guy who knocked her up, complete with big presents for the twins and a I’m-sorry-smile. Rose panicked and fled. Rumor has it, that, the twins’ dad became so sad that he devoted his life to become Nature’s best friend, the expedition however failed, and soon more sims left the city. This was the last time anyone had seen the twins’ dad.

The Twins, determined to find the other half of their identity, bonded together and decided to go to the place their mother left 15 years ago, in the hopes of finding clues to where their father has gone to.

  * After randomizing their aspiration, I also randomized what type of that aspiration they would be. I based myself on rockethorse’s list of alternate reads of personalities.

Family Woods

Moana Woods (lesyasun’s Nani) came from nothing. Her parents died in a tsunami when she was just a child and has lived in an orphanage since then. When she was a teen, she was discovered by the president of SimCity, when he was visiting the SimCity Teen Debate Competition, of which he was the sponsor. Moana won the competition and had the chance to learn from the president himself. Mr. Moonstone didn’t want to send his daughter, Lavender completely helpless to the middle of nowhere so he sent Moana there to keep an eye on her, but Lavender doesn’t know that.

Moana agreed, she’s a born leader*, someone with a lot of compassion, who quickly takes action when she sees that someone needs help.

* After randomizing her aspiration, I also randomized what type of that aspiration she would be. I based myself on rockethorse’s list of alternate reads of personalities.

Family Starchild

Broken by the loss of his true love, his wife Ariëlle, Finn has sought comfort in many relationships* and luxurious hotels, though he never managed to find  his old self again. He changed and became this self-absorbed sim, always looking for new women to date.

Finn never really wanted kids but since his wife did, they had a daughter, Ella Starchild. His mother, Fennel, couldn’t stand seeing his son waste his own and his daughter’s lives, so when she saw that the debts Finn made could be forgiven if he would join the group of sims to settle in Mrs. Moonstone’s new land, she took the matter in her own hands and moved with Finn and her grandchild to Moonstone valley. She’s always been someone to use her knowledge* to help others.

Moonstone Valley - Bacc

Lavender Moonstone. – Founder

Being a bubbly, colorful, naïve girl, always seeing the good in other people, Lavender has never quite fit in her family. As the daughter of the president of SimCity, people would expect her to become the major of one of SimCities striving districts. Her father, however, didn’t see Lavender’s potential, which resulted in him “sending her on a mission”. Lavender, has never been prouder, as she has always felt out of place in her serious family full of great leaders. She sees her new-found leadership as the opportunity to make her family proud.  Unknowingly of her father’s actual plan: sending her away to the place that failed to become a city 15 years ago and make her try to build it up again, to avoid dealing with a disastrous family disappointment.

Lavender is a family sim, of the mrs. Weasley* kind, whether she’ll be able to combine her need for a lot of kids with the pressure of not trying to disappoint her already disappointed father, is the question. Will she find a ginger who loves wearing bathing suits and hates robots as much as she does, or will she have to compromise and become a hot-mess workaholic single mom?
