This tiktok about someone’s pre-transition self is so so SO tender and I just want anyone who has transitioned and may be mourning their old self to see this and to know it’s okay. It’s okay to miss that person you once were, it’s okay to wish you had embraced what you had and who you were before transitioning. It doesn’t mean you regret it, and it doesn’t mean you made the wrong decisions.
It’s okay to think about that person, it’s okay to mourn them, and it’s okay to wonder. The person you were before transitioning may have been a trick of the light, but it doesn’t mean they weren’t special while they were here.
Everyone’s experience is different… but if you find yourself feeling this, just know it’s okay. You don’t have to completely block out every aspect and memory of who you were before. It’s okay if you do, but you don’t have to.

PUNCTUATION BRACKET UPDATE!
THE QUARTERFINALS COME TO A CLOSE, AND THE SEMIFINALS BEGIN!
Well folks, it's getting close to the wire here, and I have to say, the results of the quarterfinals threw me for a loop! Upset after upset — the underdogs have come forward to win the race on almost every poll. Here are the results of the quarterfinals:
Side A Match 1: In perhaps the most stunning reversal, last year's favorite mark, the semicolon, winner of the original Punctuation Poll, has been eliminated in favor of the question mark! The question mark came in 5th place in last year's poll, with only 7.4% of the total votes (the semicolon received 23.2%). The winner of this match is the question mark!
Side A Match 2: Tumblr votes in favor of the ominous and vague, eliminating the colon in favor of the ellipsis! The ellipsis was not included in last year's poll, but the colon placed second-to-last with only 2% of the vote. The winner of this match is the ellipsis!
Side B Match 1: The much-beloved comma loses to the more-beloved em dash in this round's only accurately predicted result! Although the comma placed high in last year's poll, coming in at 4th place with 12% of the vote, it was beaten both this year and last year by the em dash, a favorite of long-winded writers (like myself) everywhere, which won third place in last year's poll with 17.5% of the vote. The winner of this match is the em dash!
Side B Match 2: Finally, in another surprising upset, square brackets beat out the (imo) underappreciated workhorse of punctuation, the humble period. Square brackets were also not included in the original Punctuation Poll, but the period came in smack dab in the middle, tying for sixth place with the en dash, at 4.2% of the votes each. The winner of this match is square brackets!
