All the ninja have different ways of talking to themselves, and they most definitely learned them from each other.

Zane narrates all his internal thoughts and processes out loud. He started doing it during missions so that the others would know what he was thinking or doing and be able to follow along, and eventually it just became a habit.

Kai and Jay both talk to inanimate objects, animals, and really just anything that doesn't have the capacity to actually understand what they're saying. Kai tends to lean towards pretending that they can, while Jay just talks for the sake of talking.

As we all know, Cole just has straight up two-way conversations with himself. It started as just mimicking the others to pretend they were with him and give himself some guidance, but by the time Sons of Garmadon rolls around, it's genuinely one of the only ways he knows how to organize his thoughts and plan when he's stressed or panicking.

Lloyd and Nya are the most "normal" of the bunch and tend to just think out loud a bit more than usual whenever they're left on their own. However, Nya does take after her brother by talking to inanimate objects...by screaming at them in rage when they don't work or get in her way. Lloyd just has main-character syndrome and trauma-dumps into the open air at any given opportunity.

Just made myself so so sad thinking about Aang's marble trick because from a physics perspective, keeping dense spherical objects afloat on an airstream is not trivial, and he's doing it in a tiny little space without moving his hands. Bending is usually very gestural. So. Everyone in the era of the show is, at best, impressed THAT it is airbending. But Aang's an incredibly young master airbender. He wouldn't be acting like this was the bestest trick ever if it didn't take at least some skill; he's a goofy kid but he's also a prodigy. I bet other airbenders were absolutely blown away (pun fully intended) at the level of precision and force and minimalism of movement on display and now there's no one who understands at all why he expects accolades.

Remember that one hc I posted really early on in the series about Kai being insanely flexible?

Well, Lloyd (and Zane to some extent), are the kind of people who cringe every time someone cracks their neck, Jay gets grossed and creeped out easily, and Cole is afraid of ghosts and possession-adjacent things, so you can bet your soul he uses those things against them almost constantly.

The number of times someone has been sent running, screaming, gagging, or all of the above in Lloyd's case, across the Monastery because Kai decided he wanted to Exorcist-crawl toward them at full speed down a pitch-black hallway has almost gotten him hit by several chairs.

Despite the fact that he's not a serious dancer anymore, to the point that he's actually healed his relationship with dance now that there isn't so much pressure, there are a few songs in particular that still activate Cole like a sleeper agent.

No matter the circumstance, he has to perform them in some capacity. If he's in public, he'll do as much movement as he can without causing a scene. If he's sitting at the dinner table, his feet will be tapping and shuffling across the floor, and he'll take breaks from shoveling food into his mouth to flick his hands around in time. And if a song manages to catch him in private, while he's already standing? Forget it. He'll break out the entire routine, move for move, step for step.

It's almost entirely muscle memory. The others have seen him moonwalk from one piece of training equipment to the next too many times to count.

Ok idea: we know that Kai never learned to swim as a kid, and it’s not an uncommon headcanon that Nya was always naturally really good at swimming bc master of water.

So consider: Nya wanted to go swimming , and Kai would get bored watching her so he ended up making sand castles. This has left him with INCREDIBLE sand castle building skills.
