This is about the potential of points down to P12 for next year
From the sounds of it, the smaller, lower ranking teams were in favour. Ferrari and Red Bull didn’t have much of an opinion, so this delay means that either Zak Brown or Toto Wolff (or both) kicked up a fuss.
Place your bets

We’ve also got the radio playing and I can’t even begin to conceptualise how many times this week I’ve heard Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ‘Em, Noah Kahan’s Stick Season, Perrie’s Forget about us
It’s like every 30 mins to an hour one of those three play
I currently have about 3 hours left of work and I am very much fighting sleep right now

Question bc I’m seeing a lot of reports but I can’t piece together myself how they’d actually be possible, does Kimi action HAVE a super licence yet? Or more specific since I’m pretty sure can’t bc he’s under 18, does he have the points required to have one once he hits his 18th birthday? I looked at his history in the three eyes they’re allowed to collect points over and he’s won a lot of smaller championship but I didn’t think those contributed nearly enough points? So I would’ve assumed his getting into f1, whether that’s sooner or later, depends on him getting the points for a super licence which isn’t a given but no ones said anything about it which implies he has one already and I’ve just missed it? Sorry I just figured you’d be a good place to go for the answer to this one
Hello,
So you are right that he can’t get a Superlicense until he’s 18 (and also until he holds a full road car license)
In regards to Superlicense points
1st in Formula Regional European Championship (2023): 25 points
1st in Formula Regional Middle East Championship (2023): 18 points
1st in Italian F4 (2022): 12 points
1st in ADAC Formula 4 (2022): 12 points
He actually has 67 of the required 40SL points to get a SL so theoretically he could get a SL the moment he turns 18 (if he has a full road car license), even just with his two Formula Regional Championships he has more than 40 points

I think this is a case of Saward throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks.
I don’t think that the FIA would allow for dispensation here seeing as it’s a rule they created to prevent drivers who are too young from starting an F1 race.
From Joe Saward
The team (Mercedes) seems keen to promote Antonelli but is worried that this might be too big a step and that it would be better for him to get some time in a smaller team before joining Mercedes in 2026.
Antonelli could be loaned out to Williams, which is looking for a driver right now.
Williams would take Antonelli if they could have him for 18 months, but the problem is that he is not old enough to get a superlicence until August 25th, when he turns 18.
Williams might try asking the FIA for a dispensation, given that Max Verstappen was fine when he entered F1 at the age of 17, and if a youngster has what it takes then he should be allowed in. This is a fair argument.

hi,
with all the antonelli rumours, ive been super confused, and feel like im missing something
why is mercedes SO desperate to promote antonelli?? his performances in FRECA were good as far as im aware but his racing in f2 so far hasnt seemed to stand out, even amongst the rookie classes. if you compare to other “generational” talents’ performances in f2, he just looks a bit flat right now.. am i missing something or is williams THAT desperate to replace sargeant ?
thanks.. i dont follow the feeder series too closely so would love to hear your thoughts if you have any about this :,)
I must admit I haven’t been following F2 that closely this year, so I can’t really speak of his race craft in specifics
Antonelli is talented but I don’t know if I’d necessarily put him at the level of ‘generational talent’ just yet, I don’t know if we’ve seen enough for that label.
Also I personally hate that label as it puts a lot of pressure on a driver, especially when there have been cases where a driver has a really strong junior career, gets to F1 and then struggles. It’s a lot of pressure to put on someone young, especially in front of the media.
I think what is playing a part with Mercedes is that they want to make sure that they don’t lose out on their ‘potential generational talent’, Mercedes originally wanted Verstappen (before he signed with Red Bull to drive for Toro Rosso) and they missed out because Red Bull could offer an immediate drive.
I also think that maybe things like the Piastri/Alpine situation is making things move along quicker as they don’t want Antonelli sitting around where he could potentially get approached by another team.

To be honest I gathered from the wording of the stewards documents and the regulations that it’d be for the race, but there was quite a few journalists who thought that it was for the sprint.

This is McLaren’s special edition cap for the Monaco GP.
Look at the colours look at the font for ‘McLaren’, are we getting a Marlboro McLaren-esque tribute livery?

This is about Ricciardo’s 3 place grid drop for overtaking under the safety car.
The grid drop will be served in the race on Sunday, not in the sprint.

F1 / FE: every team has exactly two cars. they look exactly the same except for that lil thingie on top which is one of two colours and we draw sticks every season who gets the colour. we make rules about personalised helmets. individualism is bad. confirm to the norm
Indycar: how many cars does a team have? we don't know. could be 1. could be 2. could be 3. it depends. could also change per race. there are 4 orange cars. 3 are in the same team. one is in actually teammates with the yellow and the green car. not that green car the other one. this will not confuse anyone ever

The backmarker teams want it to happen so I guess they’ve done it this way to appease the lower teams without upsetting the front runners.

This is the proposed changes to the points structure with points down to 12th.
There’s no changes with the number of points awarded from P1 to P7, it’s only from P8 that the number of points would change.
