i admire your love for an underrated dragon ball character! yamcha's grown on me a lot, especially his earliest depiction. his girl-driven anxiety is....strangly relatable 🤨
Oh yeah, I never even noticed Yamcha as a kid, but as an adult I love him 😂 For me it's seeing that Former Gifted Kid feeling in him, where he was super cool and in control (except for the girl anxiety) living as a bandit out in the desert, but as soon as he left he started getting consistently knocked on his butt. BUT ALSO that he's persistent enough to keep trying, thinking "it'll totally work this time!"
So I understand when people get frustrated watching him constantly fail and be killed and be mocked by other fans, but I LOVE to watch him fail because he reminds me of me. (Except I wish I had his confidence)
Did you know one of the 4 books I have up for preorder is an old-school handmade zine of sketch comics about my absolutely 100% true daily life featuring special friends only I can see?

I have some old comics that could be new comics if you preorder the first-time-in-print anthologies Shaped Like A Friend or Alone Together!
Shaped Like A Friend collects my original comedy comics (plus a prose story) from 2014-2018, featuring robots, aliens, Greek gods, and monsters. All-ages appropriate. Also available as a PDF.
Alone Together collects my original drama comics from 2014-2018, mostly memoir with some fiction. Ages 15+ for depression and sexuality (content warnings in preview). Also available as a PDF.
You can get 25% off your cart with coupon YESPLEASE or by following this link—sale's on 'til 3/31!
You can donate to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund for as little as $1.00.
There is a fee you can choose to apply to cover processing.
Which if you choose to do leaves you with a total of ~$1.35 (USD) depending on the type of card you have.
PCRF has a score of 97% on Charity Navigator.
Adults and children alike are currently dying in Palestine due to starvation. (World Health Organization Link)
The Gaza Strip is one of two places in the entire world that is categorized as Phase 5 (the highest phase) on the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification scale.
So even if you think it isn't enough, remember that donating even as little as $1.35 helps! It's $1.35 they wouldn't have had otherwise. So donate if you can. 🇵🇸
FINAL FINISHED COVER REVEAL (unless I decide to tweak it after I see the test print) of But Is It "Art"?, my new 32-page illustration collection! I'm so glad I took a chance and tried digitally painting that inset, that's exactly the look I wanted and I didn't think I'd be able to pull it off.
This book (and THREE others!) can be preordered at my Ko-Fi shop, where you can get 25% off your cart with coupon code YESPLEASE or by following this link—sale ends THIS SUNDAY, 3/31!

the way the war in gaza has been constantly about targeting flour, targeting hospitals, targeting universities, targeting water containers, targeting anything that brings life in order to "thin out the population" and "encourage palestinians to move to tent cities in egypt"
and then you have western media readily calling it a "humanitarian crisis" therefore fulfilling israel's goal of manufacturing a humanitarian crisis. this entire war was with the purpose of collectively punishing a civilian population of 50% children. that's why it was immediately understood and labelled as a genocide by multiple genoide scholars, by the lemkin institute, and is currently on trial for genocide at the hague
like the starvation and the blocking of aid and the dropping of parachuted MREs to just barely salvage the reputation of a few politicians is not a byproduct of the war. it's not collateral damage. it is a central pillar of the genocide. acquiescing to israelis blocking aid by building ports and dropping pallets of food means acquiescing to famine as a strategy instead of trying to stop it. famine is not collateral damage, it is a central pillar of genocide. killing children is not collateral damage. it is a central pillar of the genocide. we don't need hindsight to say this plainly, anyone who denies it now is another pillar of genocide.
After a solid month I'm finally almost done putting together 4 reprint/collection/I-already-drew-all-the-content-a-long-time-ago-I-just-had-to-make-covers-and-stuff books for convention season (it was originally just gonna be 1 book...) and now it's like,
take a break to relax, recover from burnout, work through my reading pile, practice some life drawing
VS
shill for commissions cus oh my GOD the bill for this 4-book print run (and unfortunately-timed life expenses) is HUGE
VS
force myself (mentally kicking and screaming) to move on to the driving part of adult Driver's Ed before all the information from the classroom part of adult Driver's Ed evaporates from my tiny little brain
VS
get started on an original comic (for the first time in 5 years) while I still have the inspiration of rereading my old work and the deadline of a convention to try and finish it for
VS
revisit that prose story I wrote 2 years ago and do some character designs and illustrations and get that printed up as the quickest-and-easiest way to get a totally-new book done in time for the next convention
VS
revisit the literally 35-page document of Dragon Ball fancomic scripts I wrote a year ago and then was too depressed to draw, because now I've got enormous Toriyama feelings and (absolutely no disrespect intended but this is a fact of life) marketing-wise this seems like the best time to make DB fanmerch
Some progress on the cover of But Is It "Art"?, now up for preorder!
I'd been planning to do the painting in watercolor, but when I brought the sketch into Clip Studio Paint to figure out my color choices, I impulsively started digitally painting it instead. It wound up being a lot of fun!

Why do I feel it now?! Hello everyone, welcome to page two of chapter 21! This last week I finished the planning for this chapter, and I've penciled a bunch of pages so it's been a good week. Once this chapter is complete, I can compile this into volume 4 of Curse of the Eel, which I'll hopefully have ready in a month or so! Stay tuned for updates!
Thank you everyone for your support! I've been going through older pages to reference for this chapter and your comments have been filling my soul with energy, so thank you for your interest in this goofy horror comic.
Also, I started a Patreon earlier this year as a way to help fund Curse of the Eel and my other self-published works! https://www.patreon.com/jorgesantiagojr If you're interested in sending me a monthly donation, you'll get early access to pages before they go live, as well as sneak peaks at comics and a look into my comic making process. Let me know if you have any questions about the Patreon or anything and I'd be happy to answer!
